    All the fights were done by the actors. They were trained for 4 to 6 months by the fight coordinator's team(that being Yuen Woo Ping, a Chinese film legend). This gave Keanu inspiration to continue martial arts which led to him doing John Wick.

    • @transplantman2287
      @transplantman2287 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      YES. I love watching behind the scenes stuff from the Matrix movies bc you can SEE the foundations being laid for his interest in martial arts and stunt work. Now we’ve got behind the scenes of John Wick where the crew is saying he’s basically a professional stunt man at this point. I love that for him.

    • @billbill6094
      @billbill6094 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Don't forget that Keanu Reeves' stunt man from The Matrix directed John Wick. Or that it was _because_ he as a stunt man was so impressed with Keanu Reeves' dedication that even over a decade later he changed up the whole script of his very first movie so that the role of John could fit Keanu. Keanu Reeves as of 2023 when JW 4 came out is still younger than the original vision of John Wick Chad Stahelski had.
      Nowadays every movie studio tries to copy John Wick's marketing by excessively praising their A list actor for being the most hardworking, dedicated, talented, etc. But it goes to show you how genuine that praise is for Reeves when a man who worked with him a decade before is willing to gamble his directorial debut on him.
      And it changed action movies forever, and even among the copycats each Wick raised the bar and showed you what could be done if you let the actual performers have input.

    19:00 When the Oracle said Neo wasn't The One, she mentioned the next lifetime. And he became The One after the Agents killed him and Trinity brought him back, _thus starting his next lifetime._

      Also notice that just has a website, She ask/propose Neo for "cookies".
      She's making a "cold reading" (collecting information), by taking his hands and looking at him.
      One of the inspiration for the Oracle, was an Old website, from before Search engines where made in the very first years of the internet, called the Oracle Machine or something like that.
      An User would ask a question, that question would be reviewed by Other users and Moderators, and they would answer that question.
      WHile the User who asked that question had to wait for the answer, he would then be proposed by the site, to review and answer someone's else Question,and so forth, creating somekind of Network between users, where they would each other answers, each others question and sharing their informations and knowledge.

    "If you die in the Matrix, you die here too," because "the mind makes it real." Whatever you convince the conscious mind to recognize, the subconscious mind still has trouble letting go of the Matrix. That's why death in the Matrix results in death in the real world; the subconscious can't tell the difference, so the mind ceases. Except, when Trinity kissed Neo in the real world as he was dying in the Matrix, something about the sensation of it caused his subconscious to recognize that the death he's facing isn't real. It's like a lucid dream - if you're dreaming and you come to the realization that you're asleep and dreaming, you have the ability to control it. It not only "brought him back" but it was the last nudge he needed to really detach his subconscious from the simulation it's accustomed to, thereby allowing him to be "reborn" with the full ability to manipulate the simulated environment.

It really is the Wachowskis' dream rock album encompassing everything they love about cinema, comic books, world philosophies, right down to the music. - They insisted it had to end on Rage Against The Machine. My fave movie trilogy in existence. Along with the animatrix. Everything about it, the concepts that have aged like fine wine with computer programming, tech, philosophy, psychology, spirituality, art, comics/manga/anime, and due to the growth of video game culture, actually helped to prove how much the concepts in the trilogy is justified and work. Even if the cgi becomes dated(in regards to reloaded and revolutions due to the limitations of cgi at that time), it contextually still fits in with the matrix since this iteration is basically what video games were like when gameplay would blend in and out of cutscenes haha. So it justifies everything perfectly. And the trilogy and concepts actually aged well after all these years. Videos,e culture at this point has caught up to the concepts of the matrix trilogy and even helped to give it even more substance now. Hell, evangelion 3.0+0.1 did a good job at exemplifying what the matrix trilogy tried to get across ata time where we just wasn’t as open to until now. Even then, the trilogy is amazing and is my fave film trilogy of existence.

It was a totaly new concept. It was mind blowing. You guys soon figured out that this movie could talk about simulations of reality, back then in 1999, that ideia was so mind blowing, when we at the theaters understood the base story when Morpheus showed the "desert of the real" to Neo it was jaw droping! It was shocking to see Neo being rescued from the human fields. And the stunt sceens in slow motion, all of it was a revolution back then. Thank you for your reaction.

    You guys need ti see the original anime of Ghost In The Shell (the recent movie with Scarlett Johannsenn was a live action version of it, which is watchable but not a touch on the original anime). The anime is seen by many as a huge influence on The Matrix, not the martial arts but the visual style and the look. One review simply put it ‘No Ghost In The Shell, no Matrix, it’s that simple’.
    Also, you don’t think about it during the movie while you’re caught up in it, but think about this:
    Morpheus is told he will be the one to find ‘the One’.
    Neo is told he’s not the one, but has ‘The Gift’.
    When Morpheus is captured, and Neo makes the decision to rescue him, if he left him to die it automatically means that Neo must be The One.

    My favorite movie going experience was seeing this movie with a group of friends after school, having only seen a few ads on television, and not really knowing what it was about besides that it had cool fx. Was somewhat bored for the first 20 minutes or so, until the red pill, blue pill scene. Then, my mind was blown. I can't stress enough how exciting this movie was seeing it for the first time. Leaving the cinema absolutely amped.

    One of my favourite films of all time. Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith was awesome, easily one of the best movie villains of all time. His whole monologue to Morpheus was masterful writing and character development, like he’s not some generic villain with a stupid ass motive, he has wants and needs. He wants to be free, he wants to feel real and not feel like an artificial program that is ordered around by some higher power, that’s something the audience/viewer can understand.

    Well that was entertaining. Haha! Always fun to see someone's reaction when seeing it for the first time. Still holds up so well. 22 years. It was an amazing theater experience in 1999. My mind was sufficiently blown. Great video. Cheers.

    Apart from the Machines seeming to like the insect aesthetic, I think the bug they put into Neo basically breaks so many laws of the simulation, it can't be depicted as something that would be compatible. It's basically malicious code or an ugly hack, it has to stand out.
