    good call about the juicer, BTB! My mom has been doing Weight Watchers program for years and recently told me about how under their points program (you tally daily points based on a given food... i.e. a donut might be 10 pts of your daily allotment, while a hot dog might be 3 pts, and try to stay below your daily point maximum) fruits and vegetables are ZERO points. You can eat as many as you want and they don't count toward your daily point allotment. BUT, she told me that as soon as you blend them or juice them, they become points... because the machine is doing the work to the food that our stomach is supposed to be doing, as part of the natural digestion process. Like you said, it's a shock to the system and spikes the insulin levels if you liquefy those fruits before eating.

So I found out that you can make almond milk by blending 1 tablespoon raw almond butter per cup of water. Tastes just like fresh almond milk you make with full almonds but there is no leftover pulp! If you are interested in your health, learn more about juicing. A good rule of thumb is: Juice your vegetables and eat your fruit. You can add a piece of fruit to vegetable juice for a hint of sweetness, but do not disregard this valuable method of getting more macro and micronutrients in your body. Furthermore, get a good quality single auger or vertical juicer from Omega or Tribest. You'll be glad you did.

    I agree with you wholeheartedly. I am also in the process of not bringing in any more of certain types of consumables. I just stopped buying a lot of stuff, I buy food of course, but through trying to get my life sorted, I have discovered that I have a crap ton of lotions, soaps, and cleaners. Like even today I found ANOTHER HAND LOTION under some socks on my dryer. I will not buy lotion for a year or two. On top of that, I apparently went through like a skin mask phase, and now I have to schedule to give myself spa day just to get through all of those products I have an over abundance of.
    I have come to believe that we need to fully experience the consequences of our purchasing decisions but forcing ourselves to use the products we actually buy. Using something once or two and not using anymore doesn't help us remember the next time we see it and it sounds cool only to find out, oh yeah I already bought it and I stopped using it because I didn't like it. Using it completely will sear it into your mind your opinion of that product so you never make that mistake ever again. Or you have used the product enough to see its full benefits if the benefits only appear after consistent use. You can't lose by being more knowledge and informed about the things in your possession. But of course don't use things that are actively harmful to you.

      @Je.rone_ 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@ScrollTD whether or not the opportunity cost is worth it, especially in this case, is subjective. For me in my personal life I find that it is definitely not negligible.
      Moneyology is a term I thought of meaning the interdisciplinary study of economics, finance, and accounting (notwithstanding others perhaps using moneyology prior to me to mean something completely different, as i later found out)
      Training MMA taught me at a young age there are benefits to mixing skills especially related ones. I find economics, finance, and accounting to be very interrelated, and often times 2 or all 3 of them are overlaping to the point that any dichotomy or trichotomy is completely arbitrary(in my very humble opinion). And since they are all pretty much related to how resources have been or will be used especially money I thought it is basically the study of money. So to study all three together would be money -ology(the study of)
      and philosophy because I don't want my channel to just be about financial topics(plenty of youtubers already doing that) when there is so much more to life I'd like to talk about.

    The biggest problem I have with using my lint is that my clothing has a lot of synthetic fabrics so my lint contains plastic fibers that I do not want to burn. If not for the synthetic fibers, I would probably compost most of my family's lint.

    Tho juicers do give u a higher concentration of sugar, these are natural sugars vs sugars that are processed which should be ok for most people who are not diabetic as long as you aren't over doing it. The benefits you get from natural juice is something I wouldn't skip on. You won't get as much nutrients by trying to eat all those fruits and vegetables. Also when I juice it is mainly vegetables and fruits just so it doesn't taste bad.

    I saved $500/year on car washes by switching to hand washing. Only takes 30 minutes a week to wash and dry too. But that's only useful info if you care about a clean car lol. My only criticism of never washing your car is that its bad for the exterior and wheels which is bad for resale which isn't frugal. Unless you are driving it until its time for the crusher.

      Especially with cell phones. Carriers want you to upgrade every 2 years if you're on a contract. I recommend paying off your device, then just setting aside a little cash every month. I started saving $25/month for a new cell phone even though the one I have is pretty new. In 2 years that will be $600 if I want to get something better, or $1200 in 4 years. It's nice to have the freedom to do what I want, when I want instead of being bound to what the carrier is offering.

    Okay I do wash my car because it has a really beautiful paint job and it is something I don’t mind spending 5-10$ on.
    Video games I have reduced my spending on dramatically over the past 3 months. My goal isn’t to spend any more money on games this year.
    One thing I am having difficulty with though is processed foods. I live alone for example, and always want something convenient because I feel my time is scarce. Processed foods are quick, cheap and relatively tasty. What are 5-7 meals that are non processed, but affordable and quick to make? I can change in a heart beat but just need some direction. I really enjoyed that meal video you did a while back.

    It's called guar gum and it's plant based and works as an emulsified. It's in ice cream, too.I agree with the others that not washing your car can cost you in the long run by damaging your paint or even rusting. In my stated, they use lots of salt in the winter and if we don't wash our cars regularly, our cars will definitely be damaged. Do you mind if I ask how your chose your name, Beat the Bush?

    I sort of disagree with the car wash. If you are in a state that uses salt on the roads, you should wash your car. Its going to start rusting no matter what, but at the very least you can slow it down a bit.

    Keeping a car washed and waxed is an important part of maintenance. My 10 year old car is rust-free, a real feat here in the Midwest. My parents had to scrap a vehicle because it was rusted out to the point it was unsafe, even though it was mechanically fine. Washing and waxing a car costs less than buying a new car. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish.
