Hi did you solder the AF-VCC into 3v? Your resolution looks awesome!! I couldnt get the same image, its great image but doesnt go so close as yours and mine also heats a lot. ALso when I plug AF-VCC into 3v, the board stops.
It's a bit late but I still thought I should answer. There are couple of things here. There seems to be many different vendors selling slightly different variations. Some need AF power on pin 23 and for some, it's pin 24. Also some I guess need 2.8V and not 3.3V. This could also be the reason for the Camera heating up.
Or , just hear me out. You can get a cheap 20 dollar digital microscope from ali express which has a display , sd card recording feature , take pics , or send the hd video feed to a larger screen.
Can I know what kind of lens you used? I know that its a "micro lens for cell phone" but there seems to be many options. Would you be able to provide some information on the particular lens you used? Thank you.
