  • I'd like to share that tested some lenses in a low-light environment. There is a model available in the OV2640 lens module used in ESP32CAM. It's an infrared lens so that the IR light reflected from the subject can be received better.

    The exemple works with the default camera that comes with the ESP-CAM but when i use another lense i bought (wide angle) it doesn't work anymore...Any changes to the code? Could mt camera be defective? Thank you!

    • @ThatProject
      @ThatProject  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There is nothing to change in the code. Additionally, the OV2640 is sold as a combination of a CMOS sensor and lens. If there is an issue, the newly purchased module may be the problem.

    Hello, I love your work and hope you can resolve this doubt. My esp32 CAM suffered a lens misfortune that has default, so I bought the ov2640 lens. With the example code camera web server does not work. I use the latest version of the arduino ide and use the programming board to load the code. I already tried to put all the modules that appear at the beginning of the code and none works. How could I fix that? Greetings.

    • @ThatProject
      @ThatProject  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Before purchasing a new one, did you have any problems with the OV2640 that came with it? The reason I'm asking this is because there may be a problem with the 24pin connector of your ESP32CAM board.

    • @alexanderracanac
      @alexanderracanac 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ThatProject No, I had no problem just broke part of the lens connection, that was reason I boight another one.

    • @ThatProject
      @ThatProject  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Then there is a possibility that there is an issue with the newly purchased OV2640 lens. Double check on another ESP32CAM board.

    hey, i see you still have horizontal flashing lines on your video, have you tried a capacitor (or a better power supply) like i had said?
    i'm not sure if i understand correctly but only the last lens haven't an IR filter, right?
    btw i noticed in the esp32 v1.0.6 they add support for more cameras (like OV5640-AF) but the image quality has been greatly reduced (in low light situations), i was using the version 1.0.4 until now and i was very disappointed when i update to 1.0.6. do you have any idea how to fix that? the OV5640-AF has worse line artifact than you have here and has no option to focus. so it's unusable.

    • @ThatProject
      @ThatProject  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I couldn't revise the part you mentioned before. Also, I couldn't use external power properly in this test. What a mess. I'll do it properly in the next test. Also, I didn't have OV5640, so I couldn't test related to AF. If I have a chance, I will test it with the 1.0.6 version. Thank you for the information.

  • @alexeymaslov3865
    @alexeymaslov3865 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Check your power supply. The horizontal lines in your stream is a power supply issue

    • @ThatProject

      Thanks for letting me know. You're right. Input power may be insufficient because it is connected using a USB hub rather than an external power source.

      I'm not sure what your project is exactly, but it seems like you need a camera with an infrared LED. The one I'm using here requires 12v DC so it's not useful for your use. It would be better to use an infrared module that operates at 5v. Other than this, I don't know much about robots.

      @@alverzilin Since security cameras are usually installed high up, 90 degrees is best for distinguishing distant subjects. I just tested it indoors, so it just looks too bright. If you use a non-90 degree product, you may be able to see close objects well, but it seems that distant objects are difficult to identify properly.
