well its not really their job. from the ticket inspectors point of view, he just sees 2 (or 3) people throwing random accusations at each other. also i dont think they have the authority, if they arent witnesses of the crime. and the crime didnt even happen on their grounds
@@huuashdiasuh998 Ofcourse it's not their job and they don't even have authority to arrest someone because you told them he is a scammer. But they are allowed to hold you before police arrives when you travel without valid ticket, maybe Janek was supposted to yell that he doesn't have ticket. 😀
What? The ticket inspectors aren't responsible for acting as police! And as far as the guys on the station know it's just a dispute between 3 guys. They didn't see any of the above ground interactions. Realistically the best the ticket inspectors can do is request ALL parties to show they have paid their ride fare at the gate. If they have, then as ticket inspectors they have no further authority. Potentially they could assess the situation and request the police attend with urgency to investigate all 3 people but that's it. You're looking at this situation with 20-20 vision, or perfect hindsight. All this ticket inspectors will have known at the time is 3 guys having an argument.

This guy is Bulgarian. There is something distinct that he said that gave him up. Just before he entered the subway station. I really cannot translate it on TH-cam, because it is extremely explicit and involves mothers and sexual activity. I can also tell you he is from the eastern parts of Bulgaria, because of the very specific dialect that he swore in. This is at 4:47, he later repeats it, but he is whispering it. I can not exactly pinpoint where he is from just based on that, because anyone from Varna, through Burgas, through Plovdiv and Sliven uses this specific variation of cursing in the same manner. If I had to bet, I would say he is somewhere from the south-eastern part of Bulgaria. I hope this helps in some way. If I have more information I can probably dig him up online, but you already have enough experience finding them yourselves, so hopefully the hint that he is definitely Bulgarian and what part of Bulgaria he comes from, could help you. I'm sick of Bulgarian pickpockets, pimps, and scammers around Europe. I bet at some point he was active in Barcelona, because when I lived there, most street hustlers were either Bulgarian or Romanian, but Mossos slowly, but surely mostly flushed them out of the city, that is why they seem to move to countries that are not part of the EU zone.

As an American learning a Slavic language (Croatian), I wanted to tell you that your English is excellent. Learning a language is hard, and you've done a great job!
Hey man what about your learning process? Has Croatian been easy peasy to learn or a pain in the heart?
@@homemsolteiro8038 It's been very difficult. I read Croatian language textbooks. Once I got to a certain level, I started watching the news in Croatian. I also have a colleague who's from there, so that makes it easier.

@@namcat53 Good, those guys deserve free drinks for life.
Shame on the ticket inspectors for not helping. And Kudos as always to the Honest Guide folks for trying to make a difference. I lived in Prague for 8 years and the petty crime was one of the main reasons I left.
Just out of curiosity - where did you move? I've travelled quite a lot and the more I travel, the more I feel like Prague is one of the safest capital cities in the world. Sorry to ask like this, I'm just curious 🙂
well its not really their job.
from the ticket inspectors point of view, he just sees 2 (or 3) people throwing random accusations at each other. also i dont think they have the authority, if they arent witnesses of the crime. and the crime didnt even happen on their grounds
Ticket inspectors step up as police and did the same - nothing.
You and your team are amazing, not only do you inform people about what to watch out for but you actively prevent and confront these criminals.

You guys are truly awesome in your efforts to show these evil scammers. Why are there never any patrol police to help you? Please be careful and look after yourselves 😊
The European police are just as useless .
The residents of every city need to be just like the heroes of this video. I love traveling to places where the locals will always warn you about scams and help keep you safe.
I went to Prague years ago and all things that Janek and Honza said were right. We were so lucky 🎉
It sucks there's a scammer, but it also shows how safe Czechia is that you can just grab and confront him like that. If I saw a scammer in the United States I'd be too scared to confront him in case he has a knife or a gun.
criminals in US are indeed much scarier. They're typically young and black and if you try to mess with one, you're the one going to jail
its not just the gun its how loud they can be and they will make up a story and then cry racism and you will regret ever coming near the criminal
I salute you for risking your life for this! You need to be careful, as when criminals are desperate, they may damage you badly just to escape.

4:47 As a Bulgarian, I can declare with great regret that he also speaks Bulgarian, and we now reject him and no longer consider him a member of our community. Congratulations on trying and putting an end to such heinous behavior!
I was a bit confused because he said "Magyar vagyok" meaning "I'm Hungarian" and "Kurva anyád" which is a Hungarian swearing, so I thought, he is Hungarian. Anyways, as a Hungarian, I would reject him as well.

Wow! Even in Europe, the public is not coming to help. They are just watching. And scammers roam freely.
Sad reality
The public doesn't know exactly what is going on and who to help in that situation. You would know that if you actually ever came across two random people fighting/arguing in the middle of the street. Who would you help, and why? If I saw two taller young guys pushing around a shorter older guy in the street and subway, I would be more inclined to help the underdog. But I would be wrong.

And i don't usually like technological solutions, but IA is really a helpful hand !
Et je n'aime d'ordinairement pas les solutions technologiques, mais les IA sont d'une grande aide !
But apart the vocabulary, your starting gift is "subject, verb, complement, (conjonction)"
Mais hormis le vocabulaire, ton "don de départ" est "sujet, verbe, complément, (conjonction)"
As in " the dog (subject) eat (verb) a fruit (complement) which is laying on the ground"
Comme dans " le chien (sujet) mange (verbe) un fruit (complément), lequel (conjonction+sujet) est posé (verbe) sur le sol (complément)

I was in Prague for 10 days and had no problems at all... Prague is such a beautiful place and it's 100% worth a visit, just ignore anyone coming to you offering anything and enjoy your staying... Play dumb but don't be a dumb. There are scammers all over the world and you just need to be prepared not to fall for any of their tricks...
