Understand so much! The loss of my mom is deeply painful even years later and new losses only add more sadness. So sorry for her passing. Just know she’s alive and getting good rest somewhere else. Most strays can catch mice, moles and birds. The issue is fights, fleas, pregnancies, and other health issues so keep doing whatever you feel is best in the situation.
I used to feed strays. I had a deal with animal control to catch, spay and neuter and release. We adopted a couple and socialized the others so we could rehome them.
I would also feed them anyway, whatever the consequences might be. I could not let them go hungry. My landlord asked everyone to stop feeding the neighborhood strays but I still do. If they want to evict someone who has been paying rent like clockwork for years because I actually have a heart, so be it. I have somewhere else to take my family if needed but I just can’t let them starve. I can understand that not everyone is in a place to accept consequences, of course.
I love cats 🐈! It's sad that you have to stop feeding them, but unfortunately, if they aren't spayed/neutered, they will reproduce rapidly. Have you thought about adopting them? I'm so glad you had a good time and my condolences about your mom.
What is wrong with people? That woman who called the police because a cat was in her house needs medical help. Sorry to hear about the death of your Mum. It's hard, but it will be easier.
