My sympathies, dear Tanya. It's been a while since I watched you from your Black in Jerusalem which I don't know if you still have. I won't try to best your story with my loss. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I do understand some of what you were dealing with. I put my own mother on in-home hospice care, so I do know about the anger toward myself from her and her dealing with some dementia, and managing her belongings currently. Even though I have the gift of being with her through this transition, it's incredibly difficult. I appreciate your ability to share your story.

I lost my second mom 20 years ago, and some days are still hard, but with time, I promise it gets a bit easier. It’s so hard watching our parents age and not being able to control how they respond to health issues. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing this with the world.

My grandmother lived in a village in Nigeria 🇳🇬. She had her own chickens 🐔. She grew cassava!

I love my praying grandmother 👵, rest in peace!

My maternal grandmother did all of the above. I have really challenged myself to emulate her down to sewing without patterns. My paternal great grandmother did as well. Down to growing tobacco for cigarettes. I don't smoke but if I did, I would grow it myself. She had chickens plus other animals and processed chickens for other people in the area as a trade.
