  • Tim Wonnacott and Rosemary Shrager are at Walmer Castle in Kent, following in the footsteps of Queen Victoria, who was 23 years old and had been queen for five years when she visited in November of 1842 with Albert and their two children Edward and Victoria, both under two.
It got off to a bad start when the royal carriage got stuck in the archway and chaos ensued. Tim tells the story of how one morning the royal lovebirds slipped out of the castle with their favourite dogs and set off along the beach for a walk. A sudden squall forced them to seek shelter with a fisherman. His hospitality was later recognised by the queen - who rewarded him with a pension no less.

This was like 1 part cooking and 12 parts spoiled rotten brats complaining about bedrooms being too small on water front property.

These people are entertainers, they dont have the luxury of keeping their mouths shut when there's nothing noce to say. Maybe they used all their good material prematurely

Not sure if living away from the urban pollution exactly made up for the hereditary hemophilia, porphyry, madness and other illnesses owed to marrying each other's first cousins or worse.
I don't suppose any consomme would help with those...

The map you use at the 2 minute 20 second mark reflects a significant event that occurred 20 long years after Vic's death in 1901.
The hostile partition of Ireland occurred in 1921.
    I'm not angry. I like soup :)

A high ranking lady's maid/companion. Queen Victoria probabaly had several looking after her. It was an honour to be chosento be a lady in waiting to the Queen. They would be ladies chosen from the high ranking families in her circle. Probably still is!
