@@joselplascencia7795 In Mexico, we finally have an idea for the future. Whether it is right or not, we will see in 20 years. Why 20 years? Well, changes that are truly worthwhile take a long time. But at last, it is an idea of prosperity, unlike before when there was only resignation. The proof lies in the millions of Mexicans who voted. However, this idea is still just a hope. What is not a hope, though, is the change in the mindset of Mexicans. Many of us who did not voted before are now doing so.

The problem is not her election, the problem is that she won a super majority in the Mexican Congress. Pretty much she can pass anything she wants through the Mexican Congress. Technically, the opposition is dead.

I NEED people to understand that neoliberalism may work in some countries, but it will not work in Mexico. Corporations come to Mexico, leach from the country and then leave. I also need people to understand that neoliberalism is not new to Mexico, it was introduced in the 80’s and since then Mexico overall has done nothing but decline. Mexico already tried neoliberalism and it didn’t work.

It may true; however, give hervthe benefit of the doubt for now. Look at china's socialist/capitalist economy. So far, it has given us a lesson. At the time AMLO took office in México, no one tought he would do what he did. Purchased Deer Park refinery in Texas and it paid for itself within a year, built the Mexican airport, AIFA in record time, built the refinery, 2 Bocas in Tabasco, Mex. Built the tren Maya despite a the pseudo ambientalist obstacles as well as the interocianic corridor between Salinas Cruz, Oaxaca and Costzacoalco, Veracruz. In my humble opinion, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo will do well and will he able to build thec2nd floor of the 4T transformation initiated by AMLO. Thus, wait and see. It won't be long and for the wellbeing of México and it's citizens, I hope that your point of view is wrong. Look where neoliberalism has taken the United Kingdom to? It's a shame.

*make the country energy independent( going back on neoliberal attempts to privatize PEMEX)
      * Increase international investment
      * Make our currency one of the strongest

      *Build an airport
*Built a refinery(Dos Bocas), bought a new one in Texas(Deer Park,) and fixed the old ones
*Give a real sense of independence by not allowing the DEA and US government to freely destabilize Mexico(they still trying using mainstream media and funding righwing groups but we Mexicans can see through their bull S%$*^

I can see how you can view it as an outsider and not see it as bad, but at a citizen, i don't see a good 6 years. And as a note on your analysis of the Peso during Lopez's presidency, the only reason we mexicans see that the currency was strengthened is because there were checks and balances on the president and his government as well as VERY high interest rates which brought the peso down from 25 to 17, now that the morena party has a super majority things don't look good.

The continuation of the socialist political party MORENA isn't "a nightmare for conservatives". After turning in the worst economic performance in over 30 years, MORENA will propose a socialist constitution in September that will effectively abolish private property ownersjip. After these past elections, they will be just four votes short in the Senate to get this Venezuela -style constitution passed.
Upon passage of this constitution, which is very likely, Mexico will be well on the road back to the poverty and misery that 30 years of economic liberalization lifted the country out of.

People fear Mexico will be the next Venezuela but there are some similarities between the political and economic situations in Mexico and Venezuela, there are also significant differences. Here are a few key similarities and differences:
    Similarities:
    1. Both countries have experienced leftist governments: Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela, and Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) in Mexico.
    2. Nationalization of industries: AMLO has proposed nationalizing Mexico's energy sector, similar to Chávez's nationalization of Venezuela's oil industry.
    3. Increased government spending: AMLO's government has increased spending on social programs, similar to Chávez's and Maduro's expansion of social programs in Venezuela.
    Differences:
    1. Economic context: Mexico has a more diversified economy than Venezuela, with a stronger manufacturing sector and a larger middle class.
    2. Political system: Mexico has a more robust democratic system than Venezuela, with a stronger opposition and independent institutions.
    3. Economic policies: AMLO's government has maintained a more orthodox economic approach than Venezuela's, with a focus on fiscal discipline and inflation control.
    4. International relations: Mexico has maintained good relations with the international community, unlike Venezuela's increasingly isolated stance.
While there are some similarities, Mexico's situation is distinct from Venezuela's. AMLO's government has taken steps to address poverty and inequality, but it has also maintained a more pragmatic approach to economic policy, avoiding the extreme measures that led to Venezuela's economic collapse.
