My mom almost died during child birth, they made my dad decide who he wanted to live, who would get the medical attention, because we were not both going to make it. (Different times). My mom also had that issue where you can’t eat, she vomited everything. She lost 20 LBS with me in her, she was yellow and pale, and so sickly looking.
I have severe ADHD, at the top of the scale. I am 35 and I am finally in treatment, my life has been impacted in every single way.
I praise the Lord for giving me such an amazing husband, and so much grace and unconditional love. I am a mess.

I had the cord around my neck and came out blue. I got tetanus around 3-4, got pneumonia around 5-6, hit in the head with a very fast moving rock around 7-9, fell off of the swing backwards very high off the ground around 8-9, and I have had hypoglycemia since I was around 10. My mother had to have an emergency C-section, where as they didn’t think they could save me, but would try to save my mother. All the while, the umbilical was wrapped around my neck, and I was blue. Trauma inducing, you think?
Btw, they did save my mother, and she went on to have a C-section with my sister.

I had the same question. Dr. Gabor Mate says yes, definitely. Dr. Russ Barkley says no way its a neurological disorder. I have discovered late in life that I have every ADHD trait, and I had a terrible childhood (my sister has MS and Dr. Mate says that autoimmune disease can be triggered by childhood trauma). It would have been nice to hear Dr. Humphries opinion on this subject.

At 1:05 he says that genetics play a major part in whether people develop ADHD. According to other sources that is not confirmed. Other research shows that the reason for ADHD is predominantly due to infant stress or trauma, that can be attributed to parents with ADHD not connecting enough with their infants/children (and other causes). Why doesn´t he name psychological factors as one reason for the ADHD? Some good interviews with Dr. Gabor Mate are out there. I urge you to check it out.

So should we all be having C-sections to avoid the risk of ADHD? What are the percentages of ADHD in developing countries and how to they compare with developed countries. I imagine there might be underdiagnosis where there are fewer medical resources, or are there factors in the developed world that would make the risks of ADHD higher?

The natural birthing process through the mother’s canal is crucial for proper microbiome development. Problems such as lower immune function, skin problems, and asthma are associated with c-section births. C-sections should only be taken into consideration under emergency bases, when absolutely necessary - not on a loose precautionary basis.

It's difficult to properly research complex multifactorial conditions, syndromes or to use a more neutral term tendencies. So in research it's easy to miss the likely explanation that in for example neuro divergence such as ADHD there's likely an underlying most likely genetic tendency that is likely missed especially in higher than average intelligence kids, but combined with a physical trauma later in life or during birth (even having the gut biome compromise because of being born other than naturally) can add up with other challenges especially less than supportive school /work/ society until the issues come across as clinically relevant leading to a diagnosis. This is compounded with the fact that neurodivergence is classified under medicine as a disorder instead of natural variance of humanity. My point is, that is likely there's an ADHD tendency in a far wider portion of population than medical practise can ever diagnose as some never have major issues in their life with their tendencies.
For some, it's a particularly bad fit with their school that's enough to bring forth "symptoms", for some it's the challenges of university studies combined with what's expected of adults in our cultures and for others or takes these kinds of things combined with a head trauma or a stress induced crash in the quality of their gut bacteria combined with other situational factors.
Then there are the lucky ones who have enough support in ways they need to thrive as scientific geniuses or super innovative entrepreneurs etc. though even they might suffer from marital problems..

Just a theory but smoking / passive smoking for example could causes calcification of the umbilical cord and that in turn slows down nutrient uptake in the baby. It is a knock on effect. I am sure there are other chemicals / contaminants that have knock on effects but smoke is an obvious one

  • @declansgamereview6523
    @declansgamereview6523 ปีที่แล้ว

I dnt know but it seems to be related to underweight birth for example ( twins ). I have also seen it in a pregnant mother exposed to passive smoking in the house. I guess we will never know for sure but there is a correlation from what I mentioned. ( basically 'trauma ' ). I am sure there are cases though where the baby was born with a healthy weight so there goes my theory I guess.

Smoking during pregnancy has long been known to cause Adhd. In fact when experimenting with adhd in labs they use mice from mothers that have been exposed to high amounts of smoke to give them adhd. It's a woke society and don't want to hurt feelings. We all make mistakes but it's inportant to learn from them and warn others not to make the same.

IMHO, the genetic component is a very rare cause of ADHD.
A little more frequent cause is the minor abnormalities of the cervical spine in newborns after the delivery (insufficient blood supply of certain brain areas) - treated by manual and physical therapy.
The most common cause of ADHD is child protection: it makes the parents ignore their children. As a result, almost all children in the West experience parental deprivation - ADHD is one the consequences. Treated by elimination of the social workers and other domestic abuse abusers (which is impossible in the West - too many undereducated adults are involved).
Another common cause (related to the previsous one) is the modern school practices: for a teacher, it is easier to put a child on drugs. Treated by the physical punishment (which is forbidden in the Western countries).
