He would, if he had to. But he wouldn't want to. He wanted to mould Clem into his vision for the next generation, building on her preexisting capabilities from Lee and Chuck.
Now that I think about it. From the original deserter group, only Alvin was a victim of Carver. But I like to think it was a personal grudge from Carver perspective because of the posibility of him being the father of Rebecca's child. The rest, ALL OF THEM dies because of nature. Walkers (Carlos, Sarah, Nick, Pete), hazardous environments (Luke) or because they didn't have the required neccesities to live (Rebecca). That means that they were safer with Carver than their own. Which means in a sense, Carver was right by telling Clem that she was different from the group by being stronger than them, she was the only one who survived from the original group. I completely agree that he should be a threat to Clem (not the group) through the whole season, and having him as a point to make the tough decision at the end.
I remember, all the way back when I first played Season 2, I thought it was very disappointing. Too many missed opportunities and it also felt like some of the writers didn't understand the story and characters they wrote. I completely agree that the Carver camp storyline should have been extended into the rest of the season. It had so much more potential, especially when compared to what the rest of the season was after Carver and his group was dealt with. It also made the 400 Days DLC from the previous season feel unimportant. Most of the characters we've played as in that season turned out to just be unimportant background characters with maybe a line or two and arguably the worst of the bunch was made into an even worse companion character. Even if you do like Season 2 as is, I don't think anyone would argue that it's far from as good as Season 1 was, despite having the potential to be even better.
Carver should have escaped with the vehicles and maybe take Tavia with her, I think Carver would think she was the only one capable minion. When Carver started to hear the sound Clem started in his office, in that moment he should have known what was going on and take a hike. then follow from the distance the group to the memorial grounds.
The group’s plan never made any sense after they killed carver. Knowing carver’s group was on the roof shooting the walkers it would’ve made more sense if they waited for the walkers to enter then escape as the place got overridden by walkers.
This is a really interesting idea. Adding onto this, maybe during the shootout in episode 5, instead of Arvo and the Russians, it could’ve been Carver and the few remaining troops he had left.
Carver is, in my opinion, the second best villain. My only problem is that he's a villain in like 1 chapter and the very end of one and then pisses off. Best part of season 2. I think Able from Season 4 is the greatest villain in the series, tho. Edit: I like able because Lily really wasn't the one puppeting him like some people think. He also managed to get mauled by a group of walkers, come back, kill people with 1 arm, and Able is known by the whole group, so they KNOW him and he's been around for a WHILE. The only reason he dies is clems plot armor.
@KvngLeroy1 you realize if you get bit, you can cut the bite off, and if you're fast enough, you're safe? That's consistent in both the show and the movie. I'm surprised she lived during the fight off the balcony. He got hurt, but Clem didn't? Anyway, this is just my opinion. Feel free to hate it or me. I will never meet you in real life.
The funny thing about Carver's entire character is that Kenny was initially meant to be the villain that Luke's group were running from, but during the production of season 2 they changed that in favor of creating the character of Carver.
Carver gives off such creeper vibes. He's kinda like...the worst of humanity gathered into one person. As if he was practicing being creepy towards women and little girls in the mirror just hoping the world would go to shit
Definitely the best villain in the series, if not TWDU. Michael Madsen did a phenomenal performance, and his rivalry with Kenny is the best in the series.
I agree Carver could have gotten more screen time maybe after the fall of Howes he could escape and become a crazed stalker like what they did with Minerva at the end of Season 4 but with that said I still think Carver IS the best villain throughout all the seasons, he reminds me of one of the Comic/Show's biggest villains Negan. Carver has the same relaxed always in control attitude even in tough situations, he's perceptive and good at reading people like Negan, More often than not uses violence to make a point (and enjoys it), and is played by an infamous actor, Michael Madsen's gravely, ominous voice does a lot of work for the character and I instantly knew the Developers were making a point when casting him, that this guy is BAD.
Carver should have been in episode 4; Kenny could have killed Carver halfway in the episode. In the rest of the season I would have his goons try to take revenge for his death, only to end very, very, terribly.
i think Carver is actually scarier than The Governor in both the comics and the show, Gareth, and show Negan. Show Negan was always too silly, unrealistic, comical, and annoying in my opinion. He also didn't really look or sound scary to me. especially when he would grow his beard. Simon was scarier, and even Dwight was scarier at first. Comic Governor was just insane. yes, he was scary because of that. but he isn't particularly intelligent. he's just charismatic and happened to be the leader of a group his older brother once was the leader of, and later he grew it into a community. Yes, I can admire that. but being charismatic, ruthless, and a sociopath doesn't make you intelligent. \ on the other hand, show governor and carver are both charismatic and highly intelligent. the difference is that Philip Blake is completely insane. He isnt all bad, or else he wouldn't have almost redeemed himself in the Governor-centred episodes in season 4. and he clearly cared about the little girl and her mom. And although he almost seems like he was going to r*pe (censored so YT doesnt take down my comment) Maggie, he didn't really fall thru it and was just doing it to fuck with Glenn's head. This is still a vile act. But it isn't anywhere near as vile as what the comic version of the governor did in the comics. show governor may be intelligent, charismatic, physically imposing, and cunning, but he's he is over-obsession, mentally weak, and insane. Likely due to whatever happened before the apocalypse went down (tho he was likely always mentally unstable to a certain extent). On the other hand, Carver is actually more evil than The Governor. He's more violent, more aggressive, has committed r*pe, and he's utterly ruthless. All while being mentally stable, charismatic, highly intelligent, and even honest on a certain level, because im sure nearly everyone knows how evil Carver is. even people who work for him. And although this might not be the most tactful reputation to have, he does use it to his advantage, and he can even be fair. He's also much more fearless in the face of death than The Governor, who could sometimes be cowardly - especially in the comics - though the Governor has shown bravery in the show. Overall i fear Carver more than any other villain. Yes the governor and Gareth from Terminus are intelligent, charismatic, and unpredictable. And yes, the writers of the show tried to give show-Negan a similar air (despite everyone expecting him to do everything he did because of the comics), but similar to Negan in the comics, Carver is ruthless, strong, highly intelligent, charismatic, and unpredictable, all while not being insane like many of the villains in the show and comics. I also think Carver was likely ALWAYS evil, even before the apocalypse. The Governor in the comics has a novelized backstory where he's portrayed as a cowardly weakling before becoming the Governor, but he's also likely been evil at heart his whole life. The Governor in the show might not've been an evil man before the apocalypse but he certainly might've had some traits that would make it easier for a guy like him to become evil or deranged, similarly to Shane. Though unlike Shane, i feel like The Governor might've has some kind of ASPD or bipolar disorder. Negan in both the comics and show were likely not evil before the apocalypse. They were more like asshole who were aggressive. In fact, in the show, he's sort of portrayed as a lowlife
Carver is definitely the best villain in twdg without a doubt i find myself kind of agreeing with him. His mindset kind of reminds me of shane from the tv show just further down the line
Honestly thought the amount of time Carver was in the story was perfect. He is supposed to be a warning about Clem possibly becoming as warlike as he is, and a warning to Kenny’s downfall due to parental possessiveness (fatherly want/instincts about AJ)
i thought carver was a great villian from the start i was so tense and out of my element when carver is first investigating the cabin but honestly he felt like a character with too few scenes and with a quite underwhelming ending they couldve done so much more with him
The problem is that there wasn't enough development of Carver's story. They get captured, and in two days they manage to escape and kill Carver with ridiculous ease. They didn't give the player the time to feel that feeling of helplessness and frustration that Negan generated in the TV series. It needed at least 2 episodes, or even 3 and to end the season with Carver's death.
When talking about the Luke thing considering the games take place in the same universe as the comics where cars still have gas and work if hot wired I think it’s possibly he found a car after finding out about Carvers attack.
The problem with s2 is the pacing with Carver. Ep 1 and ep2 shows his presence as a villain. However after they escape we have Arlo and the internal conflict make up for it. It would make more sense if Kenny beats Carver in ep5, with arlo being a minion and is able to convince bonnie to betray us. We can still keep the moments of jane and kenny to build the tension, but seeing kenny brutally beat someone and jane abandon aj would keep them both at a similar level
Carver lacks depth beyond his jaded views. He has little to no reason for why he acts the way he does. He's intimidating, but because of everything he does it's obvious he's going to get hit with karma.
He's also a hypocrite. He preaches to his subordinates to make decisions that benefit the group over individuals, but chases after Rebecca for purely personal reasons, and that leads to the destruction of his community.
Carver is definitely the deepest villain in the series. He has so many nuances to his treatment of others, his beliefs how he is a hypocrite, his obsessions and goals. His motivations and why he acts how he does is explored.
@@sycaccino8533 No he's not, if anything he's the least explored besides Joan. He has the most ominous vibe I'd say, and there's some foreshadowing but we don't personally know anything about him besides he's a sociopath with more survivalist traits.
@Aliasx2005 we don't know a lot about his backstory, but that doesn't make a character not deep. You can't tell me, Lily s4 or the St. johns are more deep, important, and well explored than Carver.
Just an idea since your diving into characters if there are characters you may want to talk about but don't have enough substance for a stand alone video you could do a compilation a like three characters for a video
Carver was underrated, Season 2 should've just been centered in his group until Episode 5 and then Kenny probably wouldn't have died so soon (and poorly) in the next season.
I noticed troy was actually scared of carver when he was quite literally pummeling Kenney I feel like troy wanted to maybe have jane at least get into the group but was straight up terrified of Carver Carver could have easily been one of the best villains hell I was actually hoping a split path situation where a what if episode path if clem sides with Carver and Carver raises clem I can only imagine the amount of cruelty clem would be taught also it was mentioned Carver & Luke butted heads could Carver have been more easy going back then?
For the most part, he was going crazy because your guys are being too oppositional. If kenny chose to try and be his top man vs his enemy this would had led to know death unless a multiverse of problems arises. i was hoping to side with Carver and convince kenny to join me, but those options dont exist. Instead, because there is no leadership, the group dies and kenny by extension either of the 2 laters
Man I don't really get how people shit on season 2 so much when it had the best villain by far. He's kind of a mix between TV show Negan and the governor.
Carver’s motivation to educate degenerates is incomprehensible to me. as well as his pursuit of Rebecca. I mean, it might work - if there weren't any women in Carver's camp. BUT...there are at least 7 women in the camp. his death seems pitiful and wasteful. TelFail could have held him...I don't know? Until the end of the season, or transfer the villain to the third season. No. There was no potential for TelFail here. They just needed the cliché angry white man to walk around and say evil things. That's all. Almost all the villains in Walking are complete crap, clichés and disappointments. For myself, I only note “The Stranger” from the first season, Norma from the Michonne dlc, and Abel from the final season.
It's got good characters that all have flaws and a good amount development, many with arcs. It has great voice acting, villains, themes, plot for the most part, the most important choices, best tension, best character in all series (Kenny). It's underrated, better than S3 easily and a bit better than S4
@@sycaccino8533alot of the characters are flawed, the story relies on a child to help adults through most of their situations.....this ain't a kids anime like pokemon ffs.
@tbspromotions The point of Clem doing a lot for the group links to Carver's ideology. That's the point of the season. Pragmatism vs compassion and that some will survive and some never would have. The cabin group is incompetent and indecisive because they're weak. Clem doesn't actually make any of the big decisions until the end which is the point but does do work fo the group which is because she is a capable survivor unlike the others. LOL hell no Able was a punching bag henchmen.
He got bitten in the shoulder and survived and it's Clem's Plot armor you're calling out?
@KvngLeroy1 you realize if you get bit, you can cut the bite off, and if you're fast enough, you're safe? That's consistent in both the show and the movie. I'm surprised she lived during the fight off the balcony. He got hurt, but Clem didn't? Anyway, this is just my opinion. Feel free to hate it or me. I will never meet you in real life.
The funny thing about Carver's entire character is that Kenny was initially meant to be the villain that Luke's group were running from, but during the production of season 2 they changed that in favor of creating the character of Carver.
Troy was also meant to be carver at some point
Carver would've been an amazing villain but after killing Reggie he just becomes a generic survival of the fittest villain who monologues too much
thank you for making twdg vids. top 2 fav games and keeping up the hype i love thank you
Dude I wan not expecting you to do an investigation of where everything was but you did and I love it 😂
Carver gives off such creeper vibes.
My telltale twd villain ranking
1. Carver
2. Lilly
3. The Stranger
4. St john brothers
5. Badger
Badger Is a side villian
@@Aliasx2005 yh but even he was a much more intimidating villain than joan
@@l.i.o.n3698 Not really he was just unpredictable that's his whole character
the stranger is not really a villain.
@@greed42ohe definitely is dude
Carver is like Rick in season 5 if u think about it
Really? Carver always gives me negan vibes
No he isn't lmao
@@ImJustBob they both have the same way of thinking
Carver should have been in episode 4; Kenny could have killed Carver halfway in the episode. In the rest of the season I would have his goons try to take revenge for his death, only to end very, very, terribly.
I have never touched this game But I learned all I can from these videos!
U should play it
@ one day maybe
I love this arc he carried season 2
i think Carver is actually scarier than The Governor in both the comics and the show, Gareth, and show Negan.
on the other hand, show governor and carver are both charismatic and highly intelligent. the difference is that Philip Blake is completely insane.
Man.. I fucking LOVE this channel
Keep going
skibbidi edge rizz
Carver is definitely the best villain in twdg without a doubt i find myself kind of agreeing with him. His mindset kind of reminds me of shane from the tv show just further down the line
Carver was the one villain they killed off too early!
Carver was the Governor of this season and yet he got replaced by a skinny Russian kid
Can't someone made a fan game with alternative endings?
When talking about the Luke thing considering the games take place in the same universe as the comics where cars still have gas and work if hot wired I think it’s possibly he found a car after finding out about Carvers attack.
There’s probably not much to analyze but I think the TWD Fans would appreciate a video on the Stranger from Season 1.
We can still keep the moments of jane and kenny to build the tension, but seeing kenny brutally beat someone and jane abandon aj would keep them both at a similar level
make video about Lilly
Carver lacks depth beyond his jaded views. He has little to no reason for why he acts the way he does. He's intimidating, but because of everything he does it's obvious he's going to get hit with karma.
fr
You can't tell me, Lily s4 or the St. johns are more deep, important, and well explored than Carver.
i always loved carver he reminded me alot of the governor from the main show also 300th like lol
Bruh Shikamaru is the best pfp for you. 😂 please never change it 😁👌🏽
Just an idea since your diving into characters if there are characters you may want to talk about but don't have enough substance for a stand alone video you could do a compilation a like three characters for a video
Carver was underrated, Season 2 should've just been centered in his group until Episode 5 and then Kenny probably wouldn't have died so soon (and poorly) in the next season.
S tier villain
I noticed troy was actually scared of carver when he was quite literally pummeling Kenney I feel like troy wanted to maybe have jane at least get into the group but was straight up terrified of Carver
Carver could have easily been one of the best villains hell I was actually hoping a split path situation where a what if episode path if clem sides with Carver and Carver raises clem I can only imagine the amount of cruelty clem would be taught also it was mentioned Carver & Luke butted heads could Carver have been more easy going back then?
Please do Lily, Molly, Luke and Christa 🙏
New subscriber & love TT TWD 💚
Make a video about how you would change telltale from every season and episode
I so wanted to join him and have a Clementine villain arch. LOL
I think that he should have been there from Season 2 to probably Season 4 as a threat.
Make a video on david. He's the most misunderstood and complex character
you should do walking dead what ifs!
I felt like Nate from 400 days had a lot of potential too
he needed peoples buy in, if you see them as sheep you may ignore their will to completely
Why did he never clean his jacket?😂
0:02 daud is that you?
For the most part, he was going crazy because your guys are being too oppositional. If kenny chose to try and be his top man vs his enemy this would had led to know death unless a multiverse of problems arises. i was hoping to side with Carver and convince kenny to join me, but those options dont exist. Instead, because there is no leadership, the group dies and kenny by extension either of the 2 laters
That's not a wind mill. That's a wind turbine. Do you know what a mill is?
Please talk about arvo on your next video
Luke might also used a horse right?
W VIDEOOOOOO
I theorize that hes from Crawford...
Man I don't really get how people shit on season 2 so much when it had the best villain by far. He's kind of a mix between TV show Negan and the governor.
Objectively false comparison
So he’s a 🍇ist like both of them in the TV show, yeah you’re pretty right. But saying he’s the best villain is crazy since he’s as deep as a puddle.
strong eat weak villain #94 💀
Yeah Arvo was pretty dumb
Idk why season 2 gets so much praise tbh
The opposite tho
Carver was right to a degree.
Season 2s writers didn’t know what they were doing.
Change my mind
FIRST
Such a wasted potential.
