Ignore the troll. Paul's bass on this does add a sort of lilting warmth, which is echoed in John's lovely and unusually gentle vocal.

Can't even hear 'em. A lot of crap is spoken about McCartney's bass. Bass is arguably the least important instrument in a band which is why no-one wants to play it. I virtually never hear bass in other songs being talked about nor other bass players. Even when Paul's role in a song is minimal these McCartney following idiots have to grasp at something...oh yeah the bass!

Harrison's great ringing guitar solo with an overtone tone at the end of the solo. The worst feeling is KNOWING what you want to do and either not getting there, or losing yourself and spirit and soul on the way. As others have said, "Help" was earlier than "Nowhere man." The legend goes that after Meeting Bob Dylan, John and Paul started to write more introspective lyrics, but each in a different way.
      - Paul started to write about the people in the street, the average Joes and Janes, what kind of life went on behind that door? "She's leaving home", "The fool on the hill", "Eleanor Rigby"
      - John on the other hand decided to seek his inspiration a lot closer to home. He started looking in the mirror and wrote about the guy staring back at him. "You've got to hide your love away", "Strawberry fields forever", "In my life"

    • @lauraallen55
      @lauraallen55 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@RastaSaiyaman Not sure that legend is so true.
They met Dylan in 8/64. Help and You've got to hide were both 8/65 and Nowhere Man and In My Life were 12/65. Strawberry fields was much later than the rest in 2/67.
If they both started writing more introspective lyrics after meeting Bob Dylan, they waited a long time to start doing it because their songs were still almost if not all about romantic love than anything else for 2-3 albums after meeting Bob.

My cousin who was 4 yrs older collected Beatles records and my sisters and I enjoyed playing those records when we went to his house. We saw the Beatles debut on the Ed Sullivan show from there. It was fun watching history change after that. The guitar on this adds perfection.

To understand Nowhere Man JAYY, you need to understand John Lennon's frame of mind in the autumn of 1965. By then the Beatles had amassed such fame and fortune that John was forced to invest his earnings, or lose them to the confiscatory tax laws in Great Britain at the time. In mid-July of 1964 John bought an estate in the stockbroker belt in Weybridge, about 17 miles outside of London. John, Cyn and young son Julian could live relatively peaceful lives away from the mania that was the Beatles lives in London. It also isolated John. He discovered Jaffa Cakes (a British cookie made with a sponge cake base an orange filling topped with dark chocolate-quite tasty) and put on quite a bit of weight over the next year. Feeling alone, and overweight he decided one morning to write a song, but got nowhere with his efforts. Frustrated he went and had a lie down. Lying their and contemplating his life, John realized he had become a "Nowhere Man, sitting in his nowhere land". The rest of the song came very quickly after that. Best wishes and I am very happy you've brought the Beatles back to your channel. Cheers, RNB

That's the genius of John Lennon on display in this song, Jayy. It's one of his most introspective songs and one of my favorites from the Fab Four. I've been requesting for this one for a while and I'm glad you finally got a chance to hear it. We all can relate to this song; we all will feel like the Nowhere Man or Woman at times. John has said it could have been about anyone, himself included. I hope you will give a listen to "We Can Work It Out" in the near future, another of the band's very best recording.

Thanks for this one. John's in the lead but on the main verses it John, Paul and George all singing lead together. For me it's a perfect performance, so well played and sung. On the chorus Paul and George's backing harmonies are perfectly done.
Paul's bass playing is top notch on this one and you have to listen for John's acoustic rhythm guitar, it's great.
George's lead electric is great and his solo is haunting and beautiful. This song is in my opinion one of their greatest performances ever on a Beatles record, it's perfect. This song is an autobiographical look into John's mindset when he wrote this. He really was somewhat depressed at the time. Beatlemania was at it's peak and he was worn out from it. I've heard some say over the years that this song is depressing, I've always seen it as a guy on top of the world and found it wasn't such a great place to be in all the time. There were only four guys that knew what it was to be a Beatle and the insanity of it all and it took its toll on all four in different ways. I think that Paul and Ringo came out of it better than the other two.
They liked playing live to crazy fans and Beatlemania. John and George despised it by late 1965. John stated in his last big interview with Playboy magazine released just a week before his death that this song and "Help" were his two favorite Beatles songs that he wrote because they were real, they were what he was feeling and that they were still as relevant in 1980 as they were in 1965 when he wrote them. To me, that speaks volumes that they were that important songs for him. I say, don't we all feel like a "Nowhere Man" from time to time in our lives? A little lost with no direction, sure we do and don't we all feel a little insecure from time to time and want to ask for a little "Help"?
Of course we all experience these things occasionally, it's called be human.
Listen to this again on your own time, turn up the volume some and really listen to what they're each playing and the vocals and harmonies and the lyrics. Actually, it's a beautiful song that should touch one on some level at their core. One of my favorite Beatles songs, easily top five for me.
    Peace ❤

When the Beatles his America, the Beach Boys were still a thing. The Beach Boys were known for their harmonies. But I would say, considering the variety of Beatle songs, the Beatles harmonies were that much better. They were amazingly tight and so beautifully served the particular song. Even the worst Beatle song, is still better than most songs. They pure alchemy. Their music can produce euphoria. It's a lovely thing.

@@archangelmusic13 She has been reacting to Beatles' music for over 2 years now, and she is now able to identify who is singing in each of their songs. Jayy is NOT just trying to get views and subscribers. IF she had been listening to their music all her life, why would she do a reaction to it. What makes reactions interesting, for ME, to watch is when that person is hearing an artist's music for the FIRST time. So, of course at first, they won't know who is singing. WE didn't know either when their first album came out in the U.S. (Meet the Beatles) and on the track listing, it SAID who was singing. It helped us to get to know their voices. Paul was more difficult, because he is such a versatile vocalist, and can sound different depending on the song. Ringo wasn't a usual lead singer, so a lot of reactors are confused if they hear his voice. Same with George until later albums. It takes a little time to get your ears accustomed to their voices. SHE LOVES the Beatles now, she has said that many times. She's a fan now.
