- It's the December auction rescue you have all been waiting for, but a whole lot more happened! Horses came out of quarantine, scammers try to get free money from Horse Plus, the auction rescue is a huge success, Doc came out, horses were trained, it was an incredibly busy week here at the shelter!

Good evening HSH, I watch your videos religiously. I have rescued a few horses myself. My last mare was rescue from hoarding situation. 4 horses left in rickety barn no feed or water and hoof deep in feces and urine. I had to go back to our barn to get halters, leads and muck boots. 10 minute walk back to our place and 1 and half hours walk with 4 horses to get them in clean environment. They were starved dehydrated and rotting hooves. My vet was there within the hour and the rescue came the next morning. The mare would not get in the trailer, she fought that crew with everything she had plus some. I was in tears, finally said enough, she will injure herself worse if you keep pushing her. I talked the owner of the rescue, my vet talked to owner of the rescue. Crazy Mary became my girl, my beautiful girl. She took very long time to heal. She lost her sight in her right eye from the ammonia fumes in that nasty barn. She was great pasture companion for the other horses in our pasture. I lost her a little over a year ago. I miss her greatly. She was just over 20years old with great many health issues. I'm too old to rescue any more. I'm also extremely hard of hearing, please please put closed captioning on videos for us old folks. Thank you.

I know the horses you saved were able to have their dreams answered. To live out their lives save and loved. I'm sure if they could speak to you they would tell you how greatful they are to you and all your people that helped. You where and still are their HERO. 💜🐎💜
Don't take the scammers to heart. There will always be criminals preying on the tragedy of others. In NJ hurricane victims were scammed by fakes when they had lost everything already. Now they were being scammed for their insurance money, etc. Sorry that they wasted your time but glad you caught them in time. You're good people.

These scammers Need to be taken to heart and Prosecuted. This is criminal and it happens to Thousands and more. Most dont care or do Anything , unless they lose money. Porch pirates use to get away all the time, now if caught they are 100 prosecuted. I get what Your saying too.
I always say that Humanity can be divided into parts. There are human beings and then there are orcs. The orcs that file fake claims just to get the money are the same kind of people that abuse and overwork a horse until it breaks down and then ship it off in pain to be slaughtered.
Absolutely in tears for those poor lame horses. The Medicine Hat broke my heart. I really hope the one horse just has an abscess. Thank you for helping them.

Wish I could be there to help with the he horses and the rest of the animals and the auctions. I love horses dogs and cats but particularly the horses. When I was in high school I was given a retired. Standardbred that was a pacer. His name was Main Jim and his father was Main Jay. I rode him every where. With my four friends. Who all. Had horses. I broke him to saddle and taught him to neckrein. Even now I still miss him, and I'm eighty years young.

I've been watching this rescue channel for a year now, and it never ceases to amaze me how cruel people can be. As a horse owner you MUST ease your horse's suffering if it's in CONSTANT PAIN. The nerve of some people to dump them at an auction, for 💰 makes me sick. They need to stop being selfish and put the horse's needs above theirs.
That's tragic that people would scam during a natural disaster.
The horse named "Gonzo" made me smile, as Gonzo is one of my favorite Muppets. Which makes me wonder, is the equine Gonzo a weirdo like the Muppet, or does he have a thing for chickens? :D

How frustrating it is to have to take extra time to figure out if scammers are in the loop. People are so low! I think it’s great that you wait until the next morning to assess the horses because it must be extremely stressful for them to go through the auction process and then to be shuffled onto a trailer in the night would be even more stressful. Thanks for all you at HPH do and continue doing for these animals.
Glad to hear Ace the Mustang got adopted. He really caught my eye in an earlier episode. I'd sure like to know what herd he came from. Definitely a quality animal. Were you able to read the freeze brand and figure that out?

I miss Jessie, too - she always had a bit of humour with the horses themselves, I'm sure they heard the smile in her voice; I'm hoping she's gone to a higher position somewhere. I miss Sarah, too - and she was so knowledgeable; I could see her training as a vet, as she had the skills and the "eye" along with the attention to detail -
In fact I miss all the banter that the girls en masse brought to the videos, & hope and pray that they are well and growing wherever they are.

Pilgrim is looking much better! He looks like he has cushings because of his curly hair. He may need some checking on that. Pergalide is what I used. My horses hated the pergalide. Maybe there is something better?!

I cried for all 3 of the horses who had 2 lose their lives cos of uncaring owners who chose to dump them off at an action instead of doing the correct thing .And then had others do it for them .Shame on those type of people , I hope these type of people never have horses or any other type of equine again . They need to learn to be responsible owners , Horses , donkeys and mules need a proper home and its for a lifetime . U dont dump off ur children so dont dump off ur pets either . Its awesome that all y'all were able to rescue 27 of these majestic animals that deserve another chance at an awesome life . I admire you all so much I would love to know who some of these horse owners are low dow I know it hurts your heart to have to put them down but your Angel's to save those poor horses more days if terror and abuse and in my opinion people that try to steal Grant's from people that truly need them should be imprisoned for the lies
When your eyes are all bad like that drainage and stuff, why don't you clean them up. Probably gets pretty itchy for him. I seen the blind horse with the two eyes that had a lot of goop coming down or drainage and then the one before that that has the cough or it has runny nose or whatever. Had one eye that had a lot of stuff coming out of it and I didn't see y'all cleaning up. I mean all you have to do is just wipe it while you got them there

It makes me ill all the scammers in all areas that come out especially around devastating occurrences. It’s greed, it’s hate, and they are stupid if they think they can get everyone. But then I think that’s why they hit ALL areas. I came across one I would have never expected would try and milk money from my insurance company for repairs on my roof….it was the family that carries the loan on my house! We found a credible company that fixed our roof beautifully and didn’t try and scam us. And they fixed it in 2 days, amazing! You are one smart cookie to find this happening and not fall for it! I am unable to own horses, myself, but I do adore them, and so I am so happy I can support your rescue in what ways I can. You have taught me so much about the work, care and training that goes into these beautiful animals. Every episode is an experience, as well as a joy to follow along with the horses' progress and your crew.
Having been a rescue/shelter dog foster for 20 years, I understand how that last act of kindness is as loving as the rescue itself. THANK YOU for calling out those who would renege their responsibility and instead guarantee a painful, prolonged end. I am thankful that some at least are spared that fate and see their last moments in a place of the tenderness they ought to have enjoyed all along. In my mind, they run free over The 🌈Bridge with your love as their guide.

I am curious to know if you have ever come across a horse or horses that are reported as stolen. I follow a group on face book that deals with stolen or missing horses. Personally, I'd love to know that if you have come across a stolen horse rescued from kill pens, was the horse was reunited with the owner? I love what you do for these animals and I get so annoyed by the uncaring owners who simply "dump" their horse(s) into a kill pen. I live in an area that doesnt see many horses around due to continual human encroachment. Keep up what you are doing and thank you for the "Last Act of Kindness" that you extend to the horses who are now beyond recovery. Wishing every single one of you a very Happy and prosperous New Year.
I know that they check every horse at intake for a microchip; if there is one everyone gets excited, because it's always good to know more about hte history of an anonymous animal, so if they are stolen, so long as they are microchipped, then it will be found and acted on. Sadly all too many owners leave hundreds of $$$ and much loved animals anonymous in the fields - please please, people, microchip every pet you own - you may not plan for them to go out unattended, but it happens - microchip and Register that

I do believe Jesse, Maddie and Sarah got involved with some of the money hungry types and are all gone. Either been fired, or asked to leave. Shame cuz they had a lot to offer. Hopefully, they learned their lesson and are not riding emaciated horse thru auctions any more.

@@Angharadz2 remember…..There is alot that we don’t know, and will never be known. All I know is that the horses still need our support and the pipeline isn’t shutting down. So, I am just going to think about the numerous ways to support HPHS, and which one or two I can afford. I have only supported HP through the wish list since I stopped reading Facebook a couple of years ago because of the nonsense and gossip that I saw. I may have to back up that decision so I can see the weekly episode earlier. I wait to see that every week. I need to decide soon. I can’t stand knowing I could see the episode by simply joining on Facebook. I’ll make up my mind by Feb.
Travis got a job as a mechanic, which was his field before applying to horse plus. That’s what made him so good at fixing things around there.
