I like how the announcer was talking about Kobe trying to see MJ is human and show he’s not backing down when it showed them pushin each other on the free throw line that was dope
Jordan put hem right where he wanted him. Kobe was to worried about touching and didn't even have a chance at getting the position for a rebound. He ended up in the back boxed.
I watched both of these guys from the beginning and after seeing the game evolve to what it is today, it's crazy to come back to these replays and see how much game Jordan had for his time. As great as he was I think he was best known for his athleticism and mid post game in his later years. But his handles were definitely slept on. He was doing moves every trainer is teaching now.
I can name multiple players in today's game that would have been neck and neck with micheal jordan in his time easily maybe even better. Watching these videos litterally just shows that micheal was human and just the best of his time but not the GOAT
Targus Macintosh as a super fan of both born and raised in Chicago, neither did I. I would’ve been torn apart had MJ died first and then Kobe but now I’ll be able to handle MJ leaving us much better due to Kobe and the other 8 tragic passing. It’s just unreal.
Watching these Last dance/Laker/Chicago vids I cried my heart out seeing Kobe win his first championship and jump up and hug Shaq. When I was a kid I breathed basketball, I attended Laker games. KOBE was everything to me. This was a fantastic watch. Thanks for uploading. I will forever remember these days as well as the signature, southern California screams of excitement heard at the bars whenever Kobe would hit a game winning shot
You could never take your eyes off of Jordan, even when he was on the bench, that's how iconic this basketball player was, even without decent internet back in those days he was a renowned global supestar right up there with Michael Jackson (another MJ).
Perhaps you don't come out your house too much. Larry Joe Bird ate MJ for breakfast lunch and dinner and snacked on him every playoffs with good ole Scottie Pips. Birds back was out and still took them to school via by the yellow bus. How ironic.
People dont realize that Jordan spawned a whole breed of new players including Kobe, D wade, Tmac, Vince Carter, James Harden, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony and Lebron James. They all grew up watching Mike and at the time MJ was playing, there was noone else in the league who was considered to be as good as he was. MJ was the best in the game during his career and everyone knew it. He was also idolized by many more even Allen Iverson. Its bc of Jordan the NBA is so popular and he set the bar so high that even with all those great players i mentioned above, none of them have even come close to surpassing Mj and all of them fell short of the throne of the goat
@@pastabruno what people forget is that Kobe had a chance to get 7,8,9 rings if the Shaq beef didn't occur. I also chalk up the Pistons loss as a fluke. So that would be 6 rings. Pistons were a defensive powerhouse but were the clear underdogs. Kobe was also robbed from having Chris Paul on his team. Not saying Kobe was better then MJ, but this is what held him back from having more rings.
DJ Skandalous that Pistons win wasn’t a fluke. They just played their ass off! There are teams with less talent that play bigger at times. That 76ers team that won in the 80’s, 2011 Mavs, and 04 Detroit.

Let’s put this in perspective Kobe Bryant was only 19 years old here...and had to tailor his game to the veterans on his team. Had he been on a struggling team by himself at this age.... he would’ve had a 25 points per game at least
Damn right he did. You had to EARN minutes in practice. Shaq, Jones and Nick were all-stars who taught this kid and helped him develop. This notion that we was perfect out the box is all BS. He put in that work and earned it.
Getloose360 what you’re missing... and what the media is missing is that Kobe Bryant at 17-18 years old was already UNGUARDABLE in practice. We would’ve seen him average 20+ ppg Had he played on a lottery team his rookie year.. he was already that good
This is when basketball was basketball. I get the chills when I see old school ball. You had to work for your points. We all know Kobe was a beast only second to Jordan in my opinion.

Rodman was a freak....he was supposed to be power forward, but if they ever had a match up problem at center they would move Rodman over and let him wear down the biggest of the biggs. How sad is that...the bulls had 'centers' (terrible ones), and they had to let a guy(Rodman) 4-5 inches shorter and 40lbs lighter guard 7ft 300 pound monsters. But that is how strong and determined and SKILLED Rodman was. One of the rare 'freaks' of the game, akin to Wilt Chamberlain.

this is 1998, mj already had 5 rings . he is 35 on his peak. Kobe is only 20 on this day. mj is his idol. most people would be scared to play. mj intimidated many, but not kobe. Kobe held his own and believed on him self he could compete against my, despite how stacked mj is on Kobe. This is proof what a prodigy and genius Kobe is. He dared to compete with mj, and he is 15 years removed from mj, with all the years of skills, practice, etc. Only kobe knew what he would become and I think this is the 1st time in mj s career that a worthy successor he sees in Kobe. KOBE was everything to me. This was a fantastic watch. Thanks for uploading. I loved this game from way back. Jordan being reminded of his past, Kobe being humbled by his future. I still remember the excitement after 20+ years.
You could never take your eyes off of Jordan, even when he was on the bench, that's how iconic this basketball player was, even without decent internet back in those days he was a renowned global supestar right up there with Michael Jackson (another MJ).
The three mikes of those days. Michael Jackson. Michael Jordan. Mike Tyson.
Michael Jackson and Michael Jordan were The GOATS of their what they did.
Perhaps you don't come out your house too much. Larry Joe Bird ate MJ for breakfast lunch and dinner and snacked on him every playoffs with good ole Scottie Pips. Birds back was out and still took them to school via by the yellow bus. How ironic.
@@briggsdidnotstrapem7699 Larry Bird being better than MJ? You a clown
The only one that comes close is Kobe
@@pastabruno what people forget is that Kobe had a chance to get 7,8,9 rings if the Shaq beef didn't occur. I also chalk up the Pistons loss as a fluke. So that would be 6 rings. Kobe Bryant was only 19 years old here...and had to tailor his game to the veterans on his team.

He locked him down
Rodman was a freak....he was supposed to be power forward, but if they ever had a match up problem at center they would move Rodman over and let him wear down the biggest of the biggs.
