Growing up with a salvage yard, as a family business and being into medieval siege weapons. As a pre-teen/young teenager. I took it upon myself to design and build a very capable and formidable balista. It was made from a 1 ton truck spring leaf, a piece of railroad rail, 1/4" wire rope, a few other pieces and used a cut down and sharpened to a wicked point. Axle out of a Dana rear axle. As a bolt. My grandfather, cut it up with a torch while, I was at school. Told me, not to think of making another one. When, I got home. Lol....
Lol, the stuff we did as kids. Some never did anything. They are appalled at even the idea that somebody can just make a "weapon". Meanwhile kids on the streets have Chinese glock switches.

O@@jimafcarbon4433
We used to cut tree branches with a good curve and flex, and widdle them down, knotch out the ends, then string it with industrial rubber bands linked together. Next we'd gather quail and other bird feathers, bamboo reeds, and fashion some pretty beautiful arrows. Final step was wedgeing small screws and/or nails in the tip of the bamboo reed.
I kid you not, we used to shoot cyotes, ducks, snakes, birds, squirls, and all type of shit around the hills of our homes. This was in SoCal.
As kids, we joked that if someone ever tried to kidnap us, we'd get to see how well our arrows worked on humans.
Now you need to thread the barrel and make a brass "solvent trap" for it.
I considered it. I have cans I could run on this.
@@jimafcarbon4433I would hold off a few years - the cases are working through the courts but its a slow going process.

Good old Bolt Action Tools.
There are many good tutorials about making real pen guns and match stick guns, with that principle.

The match stick guns are sweet. But nail gun blanks and pellets are easy. Or could always go with a Japanese style double barrel shotgun with fireworks and electronic ignition.

Very nice build man. In Canada that were allowed smooth bores provided the person had the restricted license they could build one of these and make a smooth bore. Although that makes it less accurate too. Unless you're talking rat shot then it's a little bit more accurate. So actually a legal Canadian version of this could have a rifled barrel and then easily swap it out to a smoothbore barrel depending if you're firing rat shot or not.

Nicely engineered. One small change would remove the drop-n-fire aspect.
Right now the trigger is brought all the way back and turned 90 degrees and move sideways about 3/16ths". If you extended that to 3x width of screw and had another detent, also 90 degrees, it would sit in that detent.
To fire you'd pull the screw BACK a bit, then DOWN, then release to fire. Not hard to do one handed, and it eliminates this thing going off if dropped or if the finger slips off the screw when moving it down.
Keep making things!

I literally just got off federal probation for having a glock switch. Why does the devil always beat the angel on the other shoulder?!? Oh well- new sub here!
Exactly. People are worried about a single shot 22 when most kids on the street have full auto stolen glocks.
@kingfuqurmahmen6792 all depends on the situation. With training, full auto can be very effective. Shoot 1k or more a few times a year and you'll be surprised how well you can do with it. But most in the military are not sufficiently trained. Many froze up and emptied magazines with full auto not hitting anything and not prepared to reload. Rather than training (which is not easy) they just made the 3 round burst. Which mostly failed. Most today went back to full auto but train to use semi. Poor compromise, but when they're training masses, they have to train to the lowest common denominator.
But for civilians, train, train and train some more. Unless you don't have a life otherwise, you will not train too much. Be humble. I know I don't have the best equipment and I'm not trained as I'd like to be. But I also have a career, family, hobbies and responsibilities. So keep it all in perspective.
Most street kids withbswitches are just intimidating with noise and not hitting anything.
@kingfuqurmahmen6792 I chose to order the switch & didn't have any plans with it whatsoever. Someone just told me about it (they got one without any trouble at all) I actually ordered 2. I recieved one but never got the 2nd one. That's when I found out it was a no-no. But when the 2020 riots & shit went down I told my lawyer, "this is why I ordered it- for times like this.. people are rioting & looting with the police not able to do much at all. What if a mob came to my house with my wife & children here? I think that would be quite effective".. I'm just glad the judge saw that I wasn't up to no good & gave me only probation. 3 characteristics:
1. A grip extending at a downward angle from

2. The barrel must be rifled 'sufficiently to impart
a spin on the projectile.
3. The weapon must be designed, built and

@@jimafcarbon4433 yeah I really just want to have a new project to do it seems fun plus even my girlfriend thinks it’s cool so I’m excited about that lol usually she’ll just call me crazy hahah but thanks I’m going to check him out for sure!
Having rifling in the barrel is a good thing for accuracy, but really has nothing to do with the definition of being a handgun or shotgun. There are smooth bore pistols, mostly antique designed black powder. And, there are handguns which will fire .410 shotgun shells but they are not considered shotguns.
The 410 handgunss are rifled as they are designed to shoot 45lc and nonregulated. Part of the requirements that keep it from being NFA. Old stuff, black powder and Pre 1968 are GCA exempt.
Excerpt from
@nathanielhubbard9863
The ATF says that in order for a pistol to be legal
and unregulated(meaning that it won't need to
be registered & taxed as an 'any other weapon
under the NFA rules), the pistol must have these
3 characteristics:
1. A grip extending at a downward angle from
the bore.
2. The barrel must be rifled 'sufficiently to impart
a spin on the projectile.
3. The weapon must be designed, built and
intended to be fired with one hand.
@@jimafcarbon4433 All right then, I will stand corrected.
Make the action and breech of brass and make the barrel of rifled high quality steel.
Exactly. They've made 45-70's out of brass for over 100 years. I think it will work for 22.
I can see how to put it together from here but I wouldn’t be able to ever make one as I don’t have a creative mind 😂
Man only if I had the money and tools to start being able to make my own things with my imagination
A hand held drill and a file is a poor man's a lathe.
Dremel too, files, and a right angle grinder one could get a LOT done.
Heeeey! It's my pipe that I've had for about 15 Years! Love my Home Depot pipe! Thing is indestructible.
Home Depot still sells em.

you should sell the plans. I think you got a money maker there
Certainly not my desogn, People have been making these for 100 years. I'm happy just getting people to WANT to get out there and make something. I'll do a more "how-to" video for Rumble. TH-cam doesn't allow how-to videos for guns.
@@jimafcarbon4433 I will watch rumble then
@@Hondo0101 we all should ! TH-cam hates us.
Well darn, i was hoping for a new device for smokin' pot. I'd use a LOT bigger fittings...
Bigger fittings for smoking or shooting? No really, Curious. Maybe a version 2.0
Need to get away from the rag weed and try the premium that's everywhere. Don't play with ya gun under the influence.
can you get all these parts at a hardware store?
Everything but the liner. Just go to your local gun, I mean hardware store.

This is neat it strongly in courage me to make a better one cuz your idea is so pure and simple and easy to work with or in other words a great starting point 😊

Can we get a typed out list of parts?
Not on the toobs. TH-cam doesn't allow how-to videos for anything firearms related.
But seeing the parts you should be able to replicate.
nice work...

I thought you said TH-cam won't allow you to show how it was made? Yet you went ahead and dismantled it, showed it and explained how to make it 😂😂
1000 comments asking for a "how-to" or instructions, specs, parts list etc. Would suggest this is not a "how-to" to most people. But I agree with your assessment.
How much ? Will you sell and ship ?
Sorry, I don't sell anything here. $15 at your local plumbing supplier and a couple of hours in the garage you can have one too
Can you list out the parts please? I work at a truck stop so I’m sure we have some of those parts I can buy at a discount.
And I will cash app you too man if you need just to tell me the exact list of tools . Parts we get will most likely be from imperial

Where is the redman liner available
I buy them from Brownells.
@@jimafcarbon4433 ahhh nice 👍🏼
I made these when I was a kid. I made one for fun once out of wood and when I released the rubber band it blew the barrel apart. Lo😅😅😅
Half the comments are:
OMG, what if a kid sees this video then makes one!?
The other half are:
We made a bunch of these as kids !
Both responses are equally entertaining
How do you tap the inside of the 1/4 inch nipple and get the threads long enough for the breach plug and 1/8 inch nipple . Also without marring the 1/4 inch nipple
This one I threaded 1/2-28 to make all that easier. One of the other ones, I ground down a 1/8-27 NIP tap
Sorry to keep asking but are you using a mill lathe , etc. just curious I will be housing s drill and tap . I’ve tried a couple pieces so far and can’t get the threads deep enough and also have marred up the outside trying to hold it to tap it
You could simply use an electric or cordless drill and tap. Also, use shop rags/towels to grip out in the vice. Also, read other comments, your answers are there, I assure you! Cheers! :)
@@mrstogie912 nobody reads the comments. I've been asked and answered the same 5 questions 1000 times.

Cool where can i buy the pre fab pieces for this keychain?
See if you can still buy a pen type flare launcher, that looks the same, you just need to make a barrel, but a used flare will fire a .22, after punching out the blank.
$15 at your local plumbing supplier and an hour in the garage you can have one too.
It's just proof of how cheap and easy it is to make a functional gun. Even if there were no gun parts available.
The handle is a perfect crack pipe lol. I caught that

Brass gets too hot and stays hot for too long for crack😅
Breach block and firing pin were both diy right?
Yes

Never tried it.
What are the spring specs, asking for a friend😊
Something random I had laying around. I do have 100 laying around. Probably more.
@@jimafcarbon4433 cool, gotcha😁
Any reason you can't make one for larger calibre bullets like a .357
357 might have a bit more pressure that I'd be comfortable holding in to. 38spl should be ok. But 410 and 12ga are common
How did you make the bolt?
It's just the non-threaded part of a long 3/8" bolt with the threads and bolt head cut off.
