Same. I had to drill it out for the liner. But without the liner, you'd need a really long piece of pipe to be legal. Excerpt from The ATF says that in order for a pistol to be legal and unregulated(meaning that it won't need to be registered & taxed as an 'any other weapon under the NFA rules), the pistol must have these 3 characteristics: 1. A grip extending at a downward angle from the bore. 2. The barrel must be rifled 'sufficiently to impart a spin on the projectile. 3. The weapon must be designed, built and intended to be fired with one hand.

Sorry, youtube doesn't allow selling anything like that here nor linking to sites that do. But these are all standard off the shelf plumbing parts in the US. I'm sure there are equivalents available in most countries.
Gordon, rimfire bullets do not have the primer charge in the center like regular bullet have. The primer is what sets off the rest of the gunpowder. They have their primer charge placed inside the cartridge rear flange (the bulgy part at the back of the bullet). For a rimfire bullet to fire, you need to compress that flange part, which squeezes the primer charge, and then that ignites the rest of the gunpowder.

I like to put at least enough effort into them that they aren't embarrassing. But if they were perfect they might seem out of reach to many. I know my videos aren't the best production quality, but that makes them more realistic. I'm not here to convince others I'm better than them. I only hope to inspire others to take on a build of their own. Show them what can be made. Something achievable. Even with simple tools and limited skills. Sure, the finishing touches take a little extra, but patience anyone can make these. Learning the tools and acquiring better tools only speeds up the process. What is the moa at twenty yards 😊
Yes. 20 yards at 20 yards. In reality, it's a Redman liner, even 3/4" of rifling should get it to 12" at 20yd. I should rig up a red dot mount for it just to see.
Hello sir,
I would like to know how you made the cut on pipe? I mean the “ejection port”.
Does it require a CNC machine?
I used a manual mill for this one, but a drill press or drememl tool could certainly get the job done.

@jimafcarbon4433 Sweet! I'll go look for it and thanks again!
If used with out the liner what size pipe for the barrel?
Same. I had to drill it out for the liner. But without the liner, you'd need a really long piece of pipe to be legal. Excerpt from
The ATF says that in order for a pistol to be legal
and unregulated(meaning that it won't need to
be registered & taxed as an 'any other weapon
under the NFA rules), the pistol must have these
3 characteristics:
1. A grip extending at a downward angle from
the bore.
2. The barrel must be rifled 'sufficiently to impart
a spin on the projectile.
3. The weapon must be designed, built and
intended to be fired with one hand.
Yes I understand all the rules. I was just asking a hypothetical question. What size pipe would work for a 22 without the liner- like 1/8 of an inch?
@Mjlessleathal 1/8npt is as close AR you're going to get. Black iron, galvanized, brass and stainless are all slightly different.
Yeah I think it's like 5.7 mm
Anyhow, get out there and build something! Lol 😎

Sorry, youtube doesn't allow selling anything like that here nor linking to sites that do. But these are all standard off the shelf plumbing parts in the US. I'm sure there are equivalents available in most countries.
why is the firing pin off set?
Rimfire 22lr, not a centerfire cartridge
Gordon, rimfire bullets do not have the primer charge in the center like regular bullet have. The primer is what sets off the rest of the gunpowder. They have their primer charge placed inside the cartridge rear flange (the bulgy part at the back of the bullet). For a rimfire bullet to fire, you need to compress that flange part, which squeezes the primer charge, and then that ignites the rest of the gunpowder.

@DorisValzquez most people use air rifle pellets and nail gun blanks. Here in the US, we're spoiled. 22 ammo is cheap and readily available
Stop underestimating what you’re doing. It’s excruciatingly annoying that you’re not supporting yourself when we’re seeing the videos you’ve made. make them because of the people who like them and make it for them because it brings you financial joy. not the egotistical arrogance that you’re fearing., own it. because we appreciate the information
I'd like to think I'm more of a realist than a pessimist. Nothing I've done here or any of the other projects I show are my own designs. Just my take on existing designs. These are the simplest of all DIY designs. A good place to start. The Practical Scrap Metal Small Arms series is a great next step. I hope the videos of my projects convince them to give it a shot !

who you are really teaching this to is kids cause there are no age restrictions on this here. think about it. adults will buy weapons and kids can't buy em yet and there's a reason for that. for every adult here to learn this ten kids are gonna learn it too and likely more than some get hurt or hurt someone else when it goes wrong cause they are kids. I don't agree with showing stuff like this the people capable of doing it safely don't need the instruction the ones that do won't do it correctly anyway cause they don't have professional eyes for it like you do Jim. It may work then need attention later and how are they gonna know? it's not what they do for a living they won't see it
Half the comments are:
OMG, what if a kid sees this video then makes one!?
The other half are:
We made a bunch of these as kids !
I dont think your channel is for me. Too much gun building and cool fun stuff. I can't stand it. Im gonna report you to the socialists running youtube!
But on a serious note, I can't express how much I love and appreciate you encouraging people to get out and build literally ANYTHING. I would very much love to see more handmade products in the world. Ive been contemplating for years now about trying to slightly redesign commercial products to make them easier for most people to make themselves. Either that or rebuild stuff to make it repairable instead of trashable and buy-another-one-able
I like tools almost as much as I like guns. Having the tools and ability to fix and make stuff is becoming a thing of the past. Let's bring it back. Teach people how to use their hands and tools. We get more enjoyment out of using something we made than something we bought.
