Bones is the heart of the Enterprise, a constant reminder of humanity in a world of logic and technology. Beneath his grumpy humor lies a man of deep compassion, always ready to sacrifice himself-not out of duty, but out of love, especially for his friends. We see this in many moments, but it shines most brilliantly in The Empath, which is, by far, my favorite episode (I’ve watched it countless times). They finally gave Bones/Kelly a stronger role, and he absolutely delivered. I also love that it was DeForest Kelley’s favorite episode, too, which makes it even more special. Bones isn’t just a character; he’s a reminder of what we can all aspire to be. And we’ll never tire of watching him, because as long as he lives on the Enterprise, he’ll live in us too. 🌟 Live long and prosper 🖖
He's also my favorite! I don't know why people don't remember him or don't give him much importance... he was Jim's best friend before Spock, and they work great as a trio. It hurts me when they underestimate him.

I've always loved the contrast here. With Jim, he gently helps lower him into a resting position after knocking him out with the hypo. Whereas with Spock, he just lets him collapse by himself into an ungainly heap. The difference in approach just makes me smile.
Yes, Bones was always exceptional at putting others before himself. He had such a big heart, always caring deeply for everyone around him. I absolutely love him. The Empath is my favorite episode too-it’s where his compassion and selflessness truly shine.
I thought I'd seen a more complete clip from Friday's Child in which McCoy says "What the Klingon has said is unimportant, and we do not hear his words." But, I'm having a difficult time finding it.
