Spock has done a lot of mindmelds with random people, often against their will, so your statement is incorrect. I have never watched Star Trek (I'm considering it now...) and I stumbled upon this video by chance. If anyone had said to me that these were gay characters and showed me this video, I would've believed them. There's nothing to call what happens from 2:50 to 3:20 besides homoerotic. I mean, seriously, Jim grabs Spock's neck and brings them really, really too close for comfort unless you have some serious physical intimacy going on (and from what I've gathered, touching isn't something Spock is supposed to be comfortable with because of his Vulcan side). Then he just clings desperately to Spock for a while before the man whispers his name in a low and husky voice, almost INTO HIS EAR due to their proximity. Jim looks up and they stare at each other's eyes for a few seconds without putting any distance between their bodies. And through all of this, their mouths are very close, they are incredibly deep into each other's personal space. And finally, as he pulls himself together thanks to Spock calling him back to reality, the hands Jim had on the other's neck gently slide down his shoulders and arms, almost like a caress. He steps back a little, but not too much, still well inside Spock's personal space and stares some more into his eyes. I mean, seriously, I write slash fanfiction on a regular basis and I don't think I could have done better in terms of building a scene full of meaningful signs of trust and intimacy, but also full of sexual tension. This much touching, this closeness, they way Spock's voice clearly affects Jim... You cannot dismiss this as simple friendship. No friends get so close to each other and are comfortable with it. I know that if my mouth EVER got that close to the mouth of one of my friends, It would be extremely awkward. Maybe Star Trek was the pioneer of queerbaiting?

Thank you Lucille Ball for giving Star Trek a chance when NBC wanted to flush it down the toilet from the get go. NBC barely tolerated Star Trek. But, by this time Lucille Ball had her own production studio, called DesiLu. She put up a fight to keep Star Trek on the air. Then Star Trek was canceled after only three seasons, assumed to never be seen or heard of again. How wrong NBC was! Star Trek is a legacy that has become a cultural experience for millions of fans spanning over fifty years, more than six series, and over 20 movies. And it keeps growing. One seed of faith, planted by Lucille Ball, started all this.
THIS video is a PERFECT demonstration of WHY the Kirk-Spock exchange at the end of Wrath of Khan was so emotionally impactful and deeply resonated with the audience. The new Into Darkness version that flipped the positions of Kirk and Spock, while commendable...and managed to convey some emotional weight, it lacked the foundational dynamics that were at the heart of Kirk rushing down to see Spock, and being helpless to change the inevitable outcome. To understand the Kirk-Spock relationship, people need to see what Shatner and Nimoy went through together to truly feel the gravitas of what unfolded at the end of Wrath of Khan. IMO, Into Darkness lacked THAT!
The calming collective cool mind meld connection moments that Spock had with Kirk through the biggest crisis's was always among the favourite scene moments of the series.
That episode deserves to be stricken from Star Trek canon. It's that bad. And to think it comes right after Amok Time, which I consider to be one of the best episodes of TOS.
Lovely! My favorite Kirk/Spock moment is the one from Gem. Too bad we couldn’t have been more of Sandra Smith as Kirk. She was brilliant and it would have been interesting to watch Spock and female Kirk work things out together.
That's a toughie. The Vulcan mind-fusion---for such this was---is the most difficult, the most strenuous, of them all. And when the subject has as dynamic, as powerful, a mind as Kirk had, it's no wonder Spock was thrown clear and had to catch his breath. It's no laughing matter.
Compassion...and a powerful psychological save situation. Spock knew what he had to do to help the captain regain his emotional equilibrium, and he did it.
3:15 Honestly my headcanon here is that Spock's using the contact from the grip kirk has on his arm to shore up kirk's mental shields so that he can get a hold of himself.
The cherry on the sundae would've been the scene of Kirk and Spock lightning jolted by the Oracle while they were near the monolith in FOR THE WORLD IS HOLLOW AND I HAVE TOUCHED THE SKY.

9:52 Brain And Brain.... What Is Brain? Soooo Funny xD
Kuv du ma tor ya'akash, du dungi worla fai-tor. (Translation from Vulcan: "If you have to ask, you'll never know.")
THE SOUNDTRACK SAYS IT'S CANON.
He is an extremely dynamic individual... most XCELLENT!
His mind, moron
Not only does McCoy know but the Empath as well LOlOlO
"You are closer to the captain than anyone in the universe. You know his thoughts." 8:31 straight(or gay) facts
"SPOCK! What is it?"
"I came, Doctor."
*drops suitcase and goes home in silence*
No one can freak out better than Shatner in a scene! 😵
“The things love can drive a man to....” Damn.... the best line is neither from Kirk or Spock. It’s from McCoy...
Cuz McCoy sees everything. Sometimes being on the sidelines opens you up to so many perspectives. McCoy's character is the best~
What a great recap of those best moments in Star Trek.
2:58 KISS HIM YOU FOOL!
"I've got COMMAND!"
"Correct, Captain. I can feel it poking me through your pants. A most invigorating experience."
I love this comment
The calming collective cool mind meld connection moments that Spock had with Kirk through the biggest crisis's was always among the favourite scene moments of the series.
FFFFFFFF THANK YOU FOR THE LAST SECOND OF THIS VIDEO. X,DDD
OMG I LOVE YOUR NAME AND PROFILE PIC. NNY ❤❤❤
YAAAAAAAY! *Suck cherry doom brain freezy*
2:55 With Kirk's hand around his throat, Spock brings Kirk back into control of himself with a single word, his name. Stellar!
At 1:38....is Kirk saying Kirock as Spock does the mind-meld? I think they might have made the first "ship" name. lol
Picked their own ship name and the fandom just went *nope*
Spock's Brain was dumb but sure give us that beautifull line.
That episode deserves to be stricken from Star Trek canon. It's that bad. And to think it comes right after Amok Time, which I consider to be one of the best episodes of TOS.
Leonard Nimoy has beautiful hands.
Mind melding is clearly symbolic of sex for these two ^.^
.............
Doctor McCoy Surely you suspected all along right, Bones? :)
Cynical Cthulhu Yes I did, once those two are together its hard to get them apart
Doctor McCoy Tell Kirk the ship is getting jealous :)
Is that all you can think about? How illogical can one get?
Lovely! My favorite Kirk/Spock moment is the one from Gem. Too bad we couldn’t have been more of Sandra Smith as Kirk. She was brilliant and it would have been interesting to watch Spock and female Kirk work things out together.
6:41 the epic highs and lows of high school football
2:32 I'M SORRY BUT I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING!
*_WALL_*
Our minds come closer... CLOSER... CLOSER...
...*rofl*
That's a toughie. The Vulcan mind-fusion---for such this was---is the most difficult, the most strenuous, of them all. And when the subject has as dynamic, as powerful, a mind as Kirk had, it's no wonder Spock was thrown clear and had to catch his breath. It's no laughing matter.
is "kirok" the original ship name? lolol
Spirk
It should be.
awe just lovely!! those moments always make me smile lol
Love that scene where he puts his hand on the side of Kirk’s head and says “forget” ♥️ Spock knew how to love in his own way🌹
Oh and the 'Forget' scene
Compassion...and a powerful psychological save situation. Spock knew what he had to do to help the captain regain his emotional equilibrium, and he did it.
2:59 NOW KISS!!!!!!!
3:15 Honestly my headcanon here is that Spock's using the contact from the grip kirk has on his arm to shore up kirk's mental shields so that he can get a hold of himself.
What’s a little homoerotic telepathy between friends?
I love this comment 😆
Professional Nerd thank you, kind stranger :)
@@labrat_goyle Aww, you're welcome 😊
So, they can travel at 8 times the speed of light but they use a DVD player to record messages?
WHY IS THIS SO CUTE OMGGGGGGG
At 0:41, Spock invents the jaw thrust maneuver! So many years in the future, too. Lol 😂
He’s voice when he says forget oh man you know he wanted his best friend his brother to be ok and to rest no more sadness or stress just pure rest
Watched all of them. THANKS! Great compilation.
Kirk’s mouth says brothers but his mind says lovers :3
That's one of those moments that if it really was unintentional just makes it more funny.
Aw, cute shipping empath :3
it's from episode "spock's brain" season 1x2... his brain was stolen and she didn't understand who could do it and why.
Now i understand why they are the parents of the shiipping world... no doubt about it!
Hey, is there a cleaning team aboard the Enterprise? I wanna clean Cap'n Kirk's room and Mr. Spock's room. Whoever is hiring call me.
Honey, perfection has no rules when it comes to words..
The cherry on the sundae would've been the scene of Kirk and Spock lightning jolted by the Oracle while they were near the monolith in FOR THE WORLD IS HOLLOW AND I HAVE TOUCHED THE SKY.
6:16 WHICH EPISODE IS THIS? CAN SOMEONE TELL IT TO ME! PLEASE!!!!!
Yes, I am familiar with this, however since it didnt show the part where they hold hands in this video, I assumed there was some other underlining meaning :)
ah the way both kirk and spock do the things mccoy explained people in love do out of their love.
Spock just can’t keep his vulcan hands off people.
The uniform was beautiful...
Absolutely hilarious! Thank you. Great job.
Why are people trying to deny all the k/s claims on a literal K/S video???? I'd sort of understand if it was just a normal star trek compilation but this is specifically a ship comp
All of that scenery must have wreaked havoc with their digestive systems.
Whom Gods Destroy and Requiem for Methuselah
Whoa...DVD decades before it came out...
2:45 just gonna leave that here
Way Too Much Fun!!! Love It
Brain and brain, WHAT IS BRAIN??
