Spock was always so perfectly awkward. He was the best written character on that show. Leonard Nimoy was phenomenal at his ability to portray that, like it came naturally to him.

@@lexisixel8684I just rewatched that episode recently and I laughed so hard at that that I had to pause the episode and take a minute because I was _dying_ LMAO I completely forgot about it until I rewatched the ep
The Amok Time ending is made SO much better by the fact that it makes literally no sense. It was never established that he could kill someone to end the mating impulse. He just had so many gay emo feelings after "killing" Jim that he snapped out of it lmao. This video is priceless and your edits are super funny.
I always thought all that rolling around in the sand did something for Spock to satisfy the mating urge, and because Jim "died" so quickly after, that's what they used to explain it instead
I recently watched through TOS for the first time, and I was _not_ prepared for how much I would love the main three's dynamic! I knew Kirk's pop-culture reputation, so I wasn't expecting him to be so... _sweet._ It's really refreshing to see a tough, masculine action hero who is _also_ so openly warm and loving (whether you read his relationship with Spock as romantic or not). Also, that Spock/Bones scene in _Bread and Circuses_ is easily one of my favorite moments of the entire show. It's just a shame it was in the middle of such a mediocre episode, lol
Kirk is truly an unmatched captain, a confident heartthrob with enough vulnerability and empathy to properly take his friends' advice, yet with enough personal resolve and strength to reliably protect his crew and himself. Bones and Spock are vital to the perfect dynamic, but truly I don't think that Kirk himself has ever been properly matched (and I adore Picard and Janeway deeply in their own ways.)
I began watching this a few days ago with my mother (who was a childhood trekkie and wanted me in on it) but was warned online about certain episodes being strange without the rest of the show for context. Wanted out of context clips for the funnies, came up with gay. Not complaining
Thanks for your great effort in putting all this together. Since you're adding text onscreen, in All Our Yesterdays, when the cart disappears through the portal and into the past, I always say out loud "Goodbye cart, remember to write."

If representation of queer relationships AND platonic male friendships were both abundant at that time, I highly doubt that we would be having this conversation! 🙃
It's amazing that, even to this day, the Kirk/Spock/Bones dynamic hasn't been surpassed, much less even matched, in Trek. There have been many fine attempts, such as Bashir and Garak, Quark and Odo, Data and Geordi, but none of them truly can come close. Oh that note, no shade intended to be throw to Brent Spiner or René Marie Murat Auberjonois, but the only equal to Nimoy in all these years is probably Tim Russ. It's a shame that he never had somebody of equal ability and quality to play off of, or Voyager could have given TOS a run for its money.
