I couldn’t help but jump on the hate bandwagon not knowing the full story, and not being willing to open my mind to Yoko. But tonight’s video dive has made me realise, I can understand why John was in love with her. She is a very conscious, aware and strong woman.
Same, same. I mostly just wasn’t fond of her singing, but honestly, I love who she is as a person and what doors she opened as a concept artist now that I’m giving her a more open-hearted and factual review
@@WondergirlUSA This comment section is the best thing I've read. Almost every other video with yoko has horrific, hateful comments to this very day about yoko. I would love to read your book! Is it on Amazon? I am working on a documentary (just a personal project for youtube) about yoko
@@WondergirlUSA I will definitely give that a read! Thanks. 😊 And after 8 months since I posted my original comment, I actually went down a rabbit hole and found out that some of my favorite artists (Björk, Pink Floyd, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Screaming Females) were all heavily influenced by her vocal styles and songwriting styles, and her concept of music. I had a listen to “Approximately Infinite Universe,” and honestly it’s a terrific album! The “screaming sound” works so well in “Catman,” and she actually has a terrific sultry smooth jazz like singing voice in “Death of Samantha,” with a terrific message about not caring what other people think of you for being yourself. She also was a pioneer in male-inclusive feminism with “I Want My Love To Rest Tonight.” I honestly don’t understand the hate against her at all, I absolutely love her music now, and the fact that she has never remarried or even dated from what we can tell since John passed away just shows how loyal she is to him and how truly on love she was (probably still is). She has such a big heart, and I honestly don’t understand the hate against her at all.
He died on the same date as my mother December the 8th 22 years before. I think that is amazing. She always communicated to me through music, it was where we were at peace. Music is like that it's energy that runs off the movement of the earth but it's not quite of the earth, it's the in-between, it's what's in the middle of what is here and there, it's where one person finds the other. Mother is music.

@@lepetitchat123 no she was NOT! the doorman gave his statement to the police. Yoko is lucky to be alive. The pos even said he wanted to kill John earlier in the morning but Sean was present.
The amount of hatred this woman had to endure on top of her loss is unimaginable. What a powerful soul must she have. What struck me was how she once said that her son was his own man now, that it would be no good for him to be busy with what his father or mother did all the time - this too is of a profound wisdom and true love for her child.
You are literally talking about the same woman who treated her late husband's son and her son's brother like shit. Julian was recognized as John's son but Yoko never gave him that treatment and she treated him as if he were an illegitimate son, throwing away her husband's things to the garbage so that Julian could recover them. She doesn't have a strong soul, just hatred, power and money.
@@Threeleebird Yes. Even now Jackie De Shannon announced on a Beatles radio show that Yo ko was putting together a tribute at Strawberry Fields to John's relationship's love of her and with his son Sean. All hype as he continued to see Mae Pang up till 6 months before his death and actually never broke up with Pang. No mention of mentioning Julian as his son or Cynthia at all. What a selfish person. And a hypocrite. Even Olivia Harrison in the LIMW documentary mentioned George's relationship with Patti.
Really no one knows what is in anyone’s marriage but them. All the books and speculations are just that. People forget though that she is a crime victim after he was shot in front of her. Its amazing she can talk normally.
Water Falls Yes that's true, and also they did not go inside of the building. But parked outside the curb, plus there was no bodyguards that night, doesn't that sound funny to you.
But she did help to split them. John said he USED HER to help him split from his wife and from The Beatles, so...she did help to split them! Edited to add: And she was happy to do it, so there's that.
Ronnie Bishop neither do you. It is impossible for us to imagine being the biggest band in the world and living under such an enormous pressure. You do not have to love her (neither do I) but for gods sake stop blaming her for stuff she’s not responsible for. She even admitted being a catalyst, but she is definitely not the sole reason
Trafalger D. Water Law I did hear her sing I did hear her music I did see her with John and Chuck Berry and I still wander why someone with absolutely zero talent would be in the studio with the biggest band in the world and I’m 99% closer to knowing than you are lol and you talk as if you knew them hahaha. You’re a joke!
Water Falls 🤦🏻♀️ Exactly. Which means John had already wanted out. So did the rest of them. Paul was willing to make it work, but it just couldn't be dine anymore
John Lennon was a minus figure when it came to being a father to Julian. He made it very apparent who was more important....Sean over Julian. Yoko Ono fought Julian over so many things of his dad's. He had to purchase these things himself rather than Yoko just giving him items that belonged to his dad. The only good thing that came out of this is that Julian has gotten passed all of the mess he had to go through with her; which she should be ashamed of by the way. He loves his brother very much and has said in many interviews, that he had to let it go because it hurt Sean. Yoko used her son as a pawn to get her way. She should be so ashamed of herself.

In reality he would be easy to find. It is false that she ever said she hadn’t heard of The Beatles. She said she didn’t know their names other than Ringo which means apple in Japanese. I find this believable knowing her time was spent in an art world and not everyone knew their names.
@@jamesschwartz3837 Just so: that means she found a house belonging to a man whose name she didn't know, and approached it in the _hope_ that a songwriter lived there. It's been two years, but I still think it's uncanny. 😉 Come on. Anyway, it's an entertaining interview. If you haven't heard it, I recommend her interview on the BBC radio programme 'Desert Island Discs', it's good. Have a good weekend. 🌿
No mention that he was MARRIED when they met. No mention that Cyn was on vaca and when she got home Ono was sitting in Cyn's house in a bathrobe! No mention of Cynthia at all!
And to think neither Yoko or John thought anything of doing this in this manner. Yoko knew what she was gaining while doing and had no guilt or respect for Cynthia.
@Wysteria - I agree. I will always love John Lennon’s music. Maybe he would’ve grown more as a person and tried to repair some of the damage had he lived to an older age. Who knows. But I can’t respect him or Yoko for how they got together and treated others in the process. The most hypocritical part to me was their belief they were some kind of crusaders for world peace. Their behavior of deception, disrespect, and lies is what creates wars in the first place.
finster1968 That situation is something which laid on the minds of people heavily everywhere. John and Yoko played for "PEACE" in the world after making the worst unrest to Cynthia and Julian.....John and Yoko struck the nerve of peace alright,,,,DOWN ie..... afterward wanted to uplift for "PEACE",,,,a real cover up for what they did one might think??? John said one time, meaning Yoko, "she is my teacher"....so in the end she really did teach him well, didn't she🐍❗
You know I think people would have warmed to Yoko had she treated Julian better after Johns death, for Julian to have to buy letters and cards John wrote him etc was a disgrace. Julian, the first born son should be entitled to half of everything once she leaves this world, I so hope Sean shares the wealth when this happens, Sean seems a nice guy
LOL Sean is like his mother. Lives off his dead father's name. Sean is not gonna share with Julian. Hes a trust fund baby, with no fuckin talent. Like his vile mother.
@@williammorales8204 i agree but she could have not let julian fight for his settlement for over 10 years, he is such a lovely guy. she sold stuff of julians from john at auction rather than give them to julian
Julian lied A LOT about things. He had fans buying John's stuff at auction because he said he never got anything (which was not true) and then he sold the stuff. So there is that deceit
People talk a lot of smack about Yoko and whatnot. I'm not a fan of her music or her 'art", but who cares? At the end of the day, this is a woman who witnessed her husband getting murdered in cold blood and that's something I'll never take away from her. I've always felt bad for her and never would want to endure what she had to.
Everyone felt bad for Yoko and John's boys after his horrific murder, and provided a protective embrace for her because of that tragedy. Yoko basked and glowed in the protective embrace but lost it when she chose to behaved like an entitled bitch and cruel stepmother toward John's firstborn son. It was completely deliberate and unnecessary and thus, ushered back in the wariness people felt towards her.
She’s an incredible artist and human. John’s estate has been handled so well by her and Sean. They prevent it from becoming tacky and corporate. They have such great taste in design, color, sound, etc….so whenever they release something from Lennon’s catalog, they do it with such class and taste.
She convinced John to make her and her son the sole beneficiaries of John Lennon's will, purposefully cutting Julian Lennon out of his inheritance. It took 16 years of court to reward Julian a measely $25 million out of the rightful amount of 25% of the entire estate, which would have been valued around $200 million. The worst part of the entire thing is that Yoko Ono auctioned off John Lennon's belongings instead of asking Julian if he wanted to keep any of them. She auctioned off letters between Julian and his father. Julian had to use his settlement money to buy those letters back. She's a sick, manipulative woman. The hate is fully justified.
I'm not a Beatles fan but I remember John's death announcement in '80. How can your heart still be breaking in '22 over someone you never knew? People lose close family members 40 yrs ago & put that in perspective. He was a talented musician. Period.
So sad that Yoko and everyone no longer have John physically in our lives. Sad, when John created beautiful music that we continue to enjoy. Thank you for this post.
You know, I gotta say, even though she sang like shit and looked really weird in the later Beatles pictures/films with John Lennon just sitting there, when you hear her talk in these interviews she _really_ sounds nice. I feel a sense of warmth about her, and it definitely shows that she loved John deeply. I think maybe it just looked weird to people back then, because you had all these British guys in a rock band, and then you had this random Asian woman standing there in the middle, and she looked a little something like the girl in the Ring. xD Just goes to show, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
Of course she seems warm and sounds really nice in these interviews, she's finally happy. She has everything she wanted and set out to get from John (except mega stardom, she's a P-Lister at best) when she stalked him for fame. She has all the shine and attention, all of the control (like when John was alive, but without his clingy neediness), all of the money, and she doesn't have to share any stage or compete with charismatic John (in his spotlight) anymore. Have you seen her in the interviews they did while he was alive? Always butting in to answer for him, so he'd parrot whatever sentiment she wanted the public to believe. She wasn't all warm and fuzzy, or happy back then...Just competitive for his limelight.
She couldn't of loved John that much as she was about to divorce him. She then stopped the divorce because he started writing songs again. Right after his death she moved her boyfriend into the dekota. Who cut his hair in lennon style even wearing John's clothing. Yoko was a cia handler who completely controlled his life through heroin and black magic. Sad but true
@@ritapita1126 have you heard may pang speak about how controlling Yoko was? Not only that why hasn't she given julian any part of John's estate? She's a gold digging witch.
Inconvenient truth-Yoko was living (in the Dakota) with Sam Havadtoy when this was filmed. He moved in in 1981 and stayed until 2001 (so, with Yoko far longer than John). No secret. They even did a major magazine interview together in 1990, where they discussed their relationship and living at the Dakota. He's now been erased from history as the Lennon/Yoko fairytale myth makes $$$ and keeps media/fan interest. Havadtoy and Yoko were certainly seeing each other before John's murder too.
Thank you; Yoko Ono and Sean Lennon are going to write again Lennon's story and erase a lot of things and the baby boomers won't last long, n people will forget
Sam Havadtoy is a gay man whose lifelong partner is Stuart Green (an Andy Warhol art collector and former owner of several art galleries Yoko Ono used to work with). There’s a NY Times article about Stuart and Sam’s relationship. He was living in 3 different locations, in Budapest, London, and back in America occasionally coming in to check on Yoko and Sean. He spent part of his time with his partner Stuart, part of his time with his extended relatives in Hungary, and part of his time with Yoko as her one of her personal fashion designers and close friends who helped raise Sean (like an uncle) in lieu of John considering what happened to him. He was a mutual friend of Yoko and John’s when John was still alive. This weird theory that people have, that Sam was Yoko’s lover, is so hilariously wrong it’s ridiculous. Sam is a gay man.
That “interview” about Sam’s relationship to Yoko was a temporary cover story that the NY times later debunked. Basically, Budapest (one of Sam’s homes, since his parents were Hungarian immigrants), was having a big problem of violent homophobia in the 1990s. As a widow who was uninterested in remarrying, Yoko chose to be his cover-story for a while in case people went after him. He has since fully come out of the closet along with his life partner Stuart Green, who he was already in a relationship with before John Lennon passed away.
When John bought his Aunt Mimi a house by the water she asked if when she died the house could stay in the family for Johns relatives to use. Yoko sold it on the same day Mimi was cremated. Yeh, Yokos a nice person .
I like that Yoko is helping children with the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus. And supporting Dyslexic children. John Lennon was a proud Dyslexic and Free Thinker.
They’re relationship was different? There’s other ways to describe it but I do believe they loved each other even if the way they got together was through cheating, I don’t like John nor do I really like Yoko but I do respect how much they fought for the beliefs they had. I don’t think she split the Beatles up of course John probably finally saw a reason to leave but they were all obviously fed up. Reading these comments really shows that some people don’t understand that John wanted peace and not for his wife to be insulted?
John told Elliot Mintz that people could say what they wanted about her music. They have every right to not to want her in their record collection. What upset him was when they insulted her looks. Well, maybe if she had combed her hair they wouldn't have. I actually thought she was cute after she cut her hair and combed it . I am not talking about if I like her or don't like her - just talking about her looks.
Yoko Ono made a generous donation of John Lennon’s cassette with his song “Now and Then” written and demoed by John Lennon at his home studio in the mid/late 1970s. Should we consider Yoko Ono to be a generous selfless philanthropist to benefit the history of music and promote the welfare of others? John Lennon's cassette was worthless remaining in Yoko Ono's possession. Why did she give it away? Todd Lowry, Former Music Business Attorney, wrote the following facts 4 years ago: Yoko Ono controls the estate of John Lennon. She receives royalties for “Come Together” and for every other Beatles’ song credited to John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The vast majority of those songs are controlled by Sony/ATV Music. Any song-writing royalties for Lennon/McCartney compositions are split equally between Paul McCartney and John Lennon’s estate. Even the song “Yesterday,” which Paul wrote by himself, and who was the only Beatle to sing or play on, is split 50/50 with half of the royalties going to John, because the song was credited to John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The copyright on those songs won’t expire for many years to come, so Yoko will continue to receive royalties until she passes and then, presumably, the estate will go to Sean Lennon (or maybe even poor Julian Lennon will finally get some consideration).
That’s cool that she did that. I hope the two could be able to slit the royalties evenly. That’s only fair and John most likely would have wanted it that way when that time comes.
People need to get over it and move on. Nobody can look into a person and know them especially public people. Their own personal feelings are their own. We don't own anyone's life. John did what he wanted to do. He was not a puppet to Yoko. He sought her out and was cheating on Cyn way before Yoko because of being portrayed as a singlean and all of the Beatles have history. It was the 60's , single guys, musicians on the road, get a clue. Leave it alone. John loved her and hated everyone being cruel to her. John was too young when he had Julian and yes treated him badly but sitter this and was sorry about it. He said he did not want yo make same mistakes w his second son. He was more mature and learned by his experiences in life like we all do. We are all human Not everyone handles fame well.
She is fundamentally really not nice that’s the problem. Must be odd for Sean who has a father who is revered and a mother who is detested. Having said that, over the years my opinion of John has gone down and down - especially because of the horrible way he treated Julian, something she was very happy to contribute to.
@@ClassicRock1973 freedom of speech here allows us to offer our opinions and thoughts on all subjects. Lennon was no deity and is fair game for anyone who cares to weigh in. Yoko and John loved each other. Cynthia and John loved each other. People grow and sometimes go their separate ways. Just think how it would be to have your every mood examined by everyone. We have an absurd attitude toward famous people. They need to be allowed to have a life w/o being constantly being subject to crazy fans grabbing at them. This goes for all public figures. We still have not learned even in the face of events like tragedy w Lady Dianna. People need to get real and love the people w/o making their lives a living hell.
Ehn… I’m sure Cynthia and John loved each other once, but she kept the Lennon name even after marrying 3 other men over the years, to cling to Lennon’s fame (only to later accuse him of abuse for attention and money long after he died), and she kinda pitted her son against his father. She doesn’t seem like a particularly nice person- I certainly wouldn’t want an ex treating me and my loved ones that way. I don’t wish her any ill-will, but I never understood why people smeared Ono and didn’t just look at the facts of Cynthia’s behavior, especially after her book tour that was basically a big smear campaign against Lennon in 2005. She gives serious Amber Heard vibes. Julian her son seems sweet, but I can’t for the life of me understand why she was so aggressive towards the rest of John Lennon’s remaining family and Lennon’s own imagine so many years after he died.
People need to get to know the real facts and stop putting the responsability to the Beatles' break-up on Yoko's shoulders. From books I've read I believe John & Yoko did love each other and I think she has done his memory well. I do not think Yoko Ono was a reason whatsoever the Beatles called it quits. Aunt Mimi was the poison one - the spiteful old bat didn't like his first wife Cynthia either, and boycotted the wedding. She was also cruel to John's mother Julia, calling social services on her so that John would be taken from her and she could raise him. Mimi was a bitch - poor Julia couldn't fight her for her son because she was a single parent living with a man who was not John's father. Mimi exploited this to gain power over her little boy John.

Don't worry about her. She used his blood stained glasses asa cover of her debut album. He was just a cash cow for her.
The amount of hatred this woman had to endure on top of her loss is unimaginable. What a powerful soul must she have. What struck me was how she once said that her son was his own man now, that it would be no good for him to be busy with what his father or mother did all the time - this too is of a profound wisdom and true love for her child.
she sucks big time, she ruined the beatles. she deserved the hate
The dislike is justified due to her actions.

Probably because Yoko is a venomous creature.
At the end of the day, this is a woman who witnessed her husband getting murdered in cold blood and that's something I'll never take away from her. I've always felt bad for her and never would want to endure what she had to.
Everyone felt bad for Yoko and John's boys after his horrific murder, and provided a protective embrace for her because of that tragedy. Yoko basked and glowed in the protective embrace but lost it when she chose to behaved like an entitled bitch and cruel stepmother toward John's firstborn son. It was completely deliberate and unnecessary and thus, ushered back in the wariness people felt towards her.
A strong character stood the test of time ❤ Mrs Lennon is 91 yrs old last Feb 18. Happy belated Madam..🎉
I hope you will read my Yoko Ono biography: In Your Mind - The Infinite Universe of Yoko Ono - Conceptual Books
She’s an incredible artist and human. John’s estate has been handled so well by her and Sean. They prevent it from becoming tacky and corporate. They have such great taste in design, color, sound, etc….so whenever they release something from Lennon’s catalog, they do it with such class and taste.
Mind you, my right ear wholeheartedly enjoyed this interview.
lollll
She seems lovely. Stop hating people you don’t even know. Try loving people you don’t even know, like you do John.

I think maybe it just looked weird to people back then, because you had all these British guys in a rock band, and then you had this random Asian woman standing there in the middle, and she looked a little something like the girl in the Ring. xD
Just goes to show, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.

Just from this brief glimpse, I can see why John Lennon loved Yoko Ono. She comes across as bright, strong and beautiful.
Lol
Yoko is a generous, strong and brave woman.
Yoko is very cultured, you can tell from the way she speaks that she came from a very prominent family and she had excellent education.
It's not the 1700s. You can't tell who is or isn't from a "prominent family" based on the way they speak.

RIP John, so sad for Ono and family.
Thank guy so much for your support, the support of wonderful fans like you keep me going and strong ❤
Good interview
Yoko Ono made a generous donation of John Lennon’s cassette with his song “Now and Then” written and demoed by John Lennon at his home studio in the mid/late 1970s. Should we consider Yoko Ono to be a generous selfless philanthropist to benefit the history of music and promote the welfare of others?
John Lennon's cassette was worthless remaining in Yoko Ono's possession. Why did she give it away?
Todd Lowry, Former Music Business Attorney, wrote the following facts 4 years ago:
Yoko Ono controls the estate of John Lennon.
Julian her son seems sweet, but I can’t for the life of me understand why she was so aggressive towards the rest of John Lennon’s remaining family and Lennon’s own imagine so many years after he died.

my right ear enjoyed this
" John, who's the poison dwarf?" ~ John's Aunt Mimi.
@@glamdolly30 To me Aunt Mimi seems to be a narcissist but it's just my impression. People who love their family members don't do all those things you wrote about. I saw that 1981 interview with her and read about her life... I felt some bad vibes around that lady.
オノヨーコさんが好きです。おもしろ日本人ですね❢ 😊
I still grieve the death of John. He was so beautiful & left such a beautiful imprint on our world. I think Yoko is beautiful, wonderful & I wish her all the best.
TELL IT... THE TRUTH
Quiet insightful Enjoyed this
John's wealth allowed them to be together 24/7. Yokonwould not let John breath, nor the Beatles when she was 24/7 in the studio singing out "John, John, .......John....John, John, John".
More like: "john...John...JOHN!...JOHN!..JAHHWWNN!! JAAHHWWNN!!! *JAAHHWWNN!!!"*
All while Paul was composing and others were working, which was cut from the original "Let It Be film. But it's on youtube in "Lennon-McCartney: The Break Up" which is part of the 'Understanding Lennon/McCartney" 5 chapter series by Breathless345.
Yes, that was Yoko deliberately being a pain in the ass because Paul, George and Ringo vetoed her becoming the only female Beatle for her to get quick, instant, easy fame off of their back, after years of their hard struggle to get it. She had some nerve, and now she is still a thorn in their sides (Paul and Ringo) and they have to "make nice" because she's their business partner in Apple. (smh shame on John)
She is beautiful
poor John...
She really looked her prettiest during this time
Agree.
Yoko, always poised, elegant and beautiful.
-poised, elegant and beautiful- untalented gold-digging goblin. Fixed it for you.
@@bigtechisbigbrother8690 I suppose you could hold your head up better after your world-famous spouse gets assassinated, leaving a four year old behind. Yoko is a survivor. You're a hater. She wins!
@@stellarocquie7957 She's an untalented moocher whose "performances" consist of screeching, grunting and convulsing like an epileptic aardvark. And stop upvoting your own comments, it's lame.
She’s an incredible woman. When the interviewer asks if the other Beatles contacted her when John died, she says that some did and some didn’t without naming names, and understands that they were all processing it in their own way. Yoko always was and always will be about peace and love.
She's a pretentious bag. She's more gracious now, but I absolutely despise that she had to be the one John fell for. Absolutely nothing incredible about her at all.
When she said “some came, some didn’t” about the other Beatles visiting her after his death, George was definitely the one that didn’t visit. I can’t imagine Paul or Ringo not showing up for support
No it was Paul, he was Jealous of the attention John got after his death
@@twistedgamer9167 he wasn’t jealous,
He was stunned
I believe (but then I wasn't there or alive at the time so maybe incorrect) Ringo went to see her very soon after
Shit I guess I was wrong. I for sure thought that Paul would have set aside any negative feelings toward her or John. George ended on bad terms with John and never really liked Yoko from what I’ve read.
Ringo showed up in person the others did not
I thought my neighbor was torturing his cat..... nope it was Yoko singing on the radio.
didnt you say that about wild honey pie?
Funny !
Does he do that often?
it actualiy sounds like whales when they are urinating and noised they make
Ahahahahahahaha
A lot of people don't stop to think that John Lennon was just another human. He had feelings of pain and jealousy as we all do. The best thing to happen to John was Yoko. Her words were used for the imagine lyrics. John was so great at putting words together with music and creating such emotions inside all of us.
Basically they were a perfect couple for each other. Sorry for such a huge loss. She had to share him with all of us but all he wanted was her.
You are forgetting he did have another wife and son before yoko. He was an unfaithful husband to his first wife . Dont talk about him as though this man was a saint because he wrote popular music. He had a very nasty side to him.
@@lee-annebarrett366 she literally starts off by saying he’s another human - never said he was a saint, are you dumb? He later said he regretted it & its not surprising that if you’re the most famous person in the world at 23 you end up cheating on your wife. Get real
@@Azoria4 Lennon fucked anything with a pulse! Cheated on Cynthia and Yoko with lots of women.
@@OCTOBERBABY7901 who’d he cheat on yoko with except may pang?
@@OCTOBERBABY7901 Apparently George was the most promiscuous of the bunch.

She's a lovely woman
I love this book!
Atleast someone is talking about the book in the comments.. other than hate
They didn’t grow apart, look up there interviews. John was infouenced by yoko, it’s insane
John wasn't Yoko's first husband dude. Awks. 3:14
John was Yoko's 3rd husband!
or her last
And yes The Beatles will always be.......
