For me, yoko controlled john. While he was with may pang during his lost weekend, John visited many of his friends like paul, mick and other and also his ex-wife cynthia and his son julian. When he was with yoko again, he became isolated again from his friend.
Yoko personally picked May Pang to go out with John during their experimental separation in 1973-75. May didn't want to interfere at first, but Yoko insisted that John needed a girlfriend to go out with him. After reluctantly going out with John the first time, she eventually liked to be out with John more often . When John & Yoko reunited in 1975, Yoko deliberately broke up the friendship with John & May, though they did briefly see each other before John's 1980 murder.
Yoko Ono totally controlled John. This involved the dark arts. She is literally a witch. She used to go to witches meetings in New York, driven there by her chauffeur.
@@MrBruinman86 Some anti-Beatle fans do have an answer, but most pro-Beatle fans criticize it as racist and sexist. Being a powerful Japanese woman does have an effect on some people. Besides, her dad was fairly wealthy when she was growing up while John grew up in a working class section of Liverpool (though not as poor as Ringo Starr, who was in the "Dingle" section of Liverpool, which was considered a Liverpool-based ghetto.) John's father also abandoned him as a child, and eventually so did his mother, though John worshipped his mother and mourned her when she died tragically in 1958 after being in a hit-and-run incident with an off-duty cop. John had to spend much of his growing up with his kind, but strict Aunt Mimi, and he became rebellious as a result. I would call all of this as a class-based difference between John and Yoko, they were definitely two very different people before they met in an art gallery in 1966, and John's life wasn't ever the same ever again. It should also be known that John was taking many acid trips in 1966-1969, when he finally kicked the habit. You can hear his side of the painful withdrawl from John's point of view in his 1969 song "Cold Turkey." Witchcraft, or "Wicca" to many followers is a very real thing, and many practicing witches and sorcerers do insist on having equal rights like any other human being. It's pretty much like the LGBTQ human rights movement. Yoko may very well be practicing black magic or white magic, like any other witch. It's her private business, though. Real witches, after all are not like fictional TV/movie witches like Samantha Stevens, Sabrina Spellman, or Luz Noceda (from "Owl House") in real life. They take their practicing seriously, and insist they are like anyone else in society. They just want to be tolerated, not scorned.
@@MrBruinman86 That is easy to answer ... To destroy The Beatles and him. She achieved both. The Beatles were born to give love, light and high artistry to humanity. The dark side, who Yoko works for, did not want his.
John was an ass. Forcing his bandmates to endure her while they were working was just his ego in full bully mode. He KNEW how much she irritated everybody, but enjoyed busting their chops. Well, John did lose his mother at a young age. Plus, his ex Cynthia and Yoko were both older than him, so he might have a thing for older women. Maybe he married them to have a maternal figure, in his life. It kinda makes sense.
There was no need for any more Beatles music. They had a fantastic run and stopped while they were on top. Although it’s not as great as the Beatles, they each have interesting solo albums which I have recently begun to enjoy a lot. Especially Double Fantasy

Yoko should not take the blame for the Beatles breakup although she did encourage John to take the first step to leave the band. But she definetly blocked any chance of a reunion as she isolated John from his family and former band mates. I wonder how things could have been much better if John had stayed with May Pang, wich is such a nicer person.
That whole May Pang thing is gross though. You don't go and live with another woman when you're married, regardless of circumstances. They should've got divorced before he did that, or he just shouldn't have done it. I don't like May for the fact she knew she was having an affair.
@@silvercloud1641 There's no such thing as an open relationship which is also a healthy relationship. There's wasn't healthy, and it wasn't really that open anyway since Yoko Ono controlled with whom he had the affair. Their relationship was headed towards divorce, so if Lennon wasn't killed, they likely wouldn't have been together. When your primary relationship is so screwed up, so is your life, therefore it's not a surprise he ended up dead and she ended up one of the world's most disliked women.
@@alukuhito Bi people do exist too? Professor Marston And The Wonder Women is a great example of an open/poly relationship that worked. I'd say allowing monotheism or conservative brainwashing based on nothing but mythology/faith alone, not nature or facts, to control every aspect of your life is what's not healthy. I think, at least some, people have the capacity to love more than 1 person and that's ok despite what some organized religions or conservative thinking conditions us to think. As long as there's no lying or cheating and everyone is honest, open, and safe about it. Not everything is for everyone, sure. I'm not sure I'd want a third person, or more, live in partnership. But I don't see a problem with the occasional menage a trois. If monotheism, monogamy, and monotony works for you, despite its high divorce rate, great. A poly relationship certainly isn't for the weak, self doubting, egotistical, jealous, or immature. I do agree for many that are hooked into monotheism it probably wouldn't work. Though I'm sure John and Yoko were not very closed minded people. It's also possible Yoko is cooler than we think, and she did care about John so much so that she wanted him to get out and have a good time. Making up for all he went through in his younger years and missed out on, and finally getting a break from The Beatles/life.
The one where Yoko did her stepson Julian dirty is unforgivable! That's terrible that he had to use his inheritance money to buy back his father's personal possessions! Shouldn't she let Julian and Sean decide about John's stuff before she auctioned them off?
exactly she should have let the sons have first pick. And let Julian go first because he was the first born and because he didn't get the quality time with John that Sean got. That would have been magnanimous instead she went the other way into me first territory
About those songwriting credits "Give Peace a Chance" was credited to John Lennon & Paul McCartney in all Lennon singles, compilations and live albums in 1969-1986. Originally it was Lennon's way of thanking McCartney for helping him record "The Ballad of John and Yoko" in 1969. It was recorded without George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Since the 1990s "Give Peace a Chance" has been credited only to John Lennon. Paul didn't have a problem to admit that is was written by John. When McCartney and Lennon wrote songs together, they usually completed each other's songs with various kinds of ideas like melodies, lyrics, instruments, etc. That's why it was a simple solution to use "Lennon-McCartney" credits even if some Beatles songs were originally written like 90 % of Paul and 10 % of John, or vice versa. It helped them to contribute each other's songs without thinking about songwriting credits.
I always thought that "Lennon-McCartney" songwriting brandname just because their names were in alphabetical order, and that it didn't matter who wrote what the most. But, I could be wrong.
The hatred is justified. Even if it was just the way she treated Julian, as well as Sean, over their inheritance, that would be enough. The McCartney-Lennon refusal on her part is quite damning, as well. She seems such an ugly sort. Yes does not seem to be her answer, and it looks as if we can say that for sure. I really mind all her godawful games.
Yes that was bad about cutting Julian out and the McCartney Lennon request was just immoral. Greedy greedy greedy. Down right immoral of her. It wasn't her decision to make. Shouldn't have been. But Paul was doing the right thing asking about the purchase of the rights to Northern songs and she buggered that up too. Paul's been good to Julian and even reaching out to John before he went. They were on good terms as far as I remember.
She seemed to love having control over John’s life. Even after his death. She controlled his money and his image. She never moved on. She stayed in his shadow because she relished all of the attention she got for being known as John’s forever widow!

She broke up the Beatles as much as Allen Klein did. Which is to say, I doubt breaking them up was ever her goal, but her actions and presence sure did a lot to usher it on.
I saw a picture of her the other day and I looked into her eyes.I didn't have to actually look into her eyes because it was plain to see that reflected in them was the fact that she meant to break up the Beatles and she got away with it. That's what I saw in her eyes. I could be wrong of course but I reckon that's what I saw. Heck. Who would be surprised if it was true?
She actually does have some talent though, which is partly why John was attracted to her. I saw that exhibit of hers that John saw and quite liked it. Very peaceful.
I've been a Beatles fan for nearly my entire life. Here are my thoughts: Did Yoko break up The Beatles? Yes & No. No, because they were on the verge of breaking up... but that being said, she didn't help. To me, it's was great that he loved & was happy with her. To me, the problem was that he wanted the world to love her as much as he did. And that's not possible. Everyone at one time has met someone who suddenly fell in love & then all of a sudden, EVERY conversation you have with this person is DOMINATED by them talking about their lover. Or they have to take their lover EVERYWHERE they go. You get this feeling that if you stubbed your toe then this person JUST HAS TO start taling about how their partner stubbed their toe a few days prior. You feel like saying, "Damn! Enough already! YOU LOVE THIS PERSON... WE DON'T. Stop foisting your lover on the rest of us." He should've said, "Hey, babe... sit this one out." Or, she should have, "You go do your thing, sweetie. I'm going to sit this one out for a bit." But no. They fell in love, and the world was forced to sit and watch.

Yoko manipulates John's life quite a bit. Food choices (e.g. macrobiotic diet) and she controls which people get to see John. She insisted on getting her own songs for Double Fantasy (after a little argument John finally agreed). John was making a great album of his own.
What was the real reason for John going into semi-retirement from the music business between 1975- 1980? Did he really have to take off 5 years to bring up his son Sean and become a house husband as we were told? Yokos control over his music career and finances has never really been explored in my view.
Well I think that he enjoyed taking the break from everything. It was an intense experience that they went through the group. And Yoko had and has the business acumen. Yes taking control of the money was always in her sights.
my uncle met yoko in 1971 at a art show john wasnt there and he said that she had a cool imagination and she asked him if he wanted to make love and he said that he was a virgin and she said that it made it even better and he was creeped out by her because she would make these loud weird sounds while they had s** and he backed out before "finishing" and told her that shes a crazy person and walked out of the hotel room she acted like she was retarded and he regrets losing his virginity to her but its a cool story tho
John was worse he hit his sons verbally abused them and he literally hit Julian bc he didn't " like the sound of Julian's laugh " like wtaf- and he also screamed in Julian's ear so loud it caused hearing loss in one of Julian's ears but idk if his ear is still bad today
George Martin also left his first family for his secretary, Giles Martin's mother. He cut his first kids out of his will but left it to his widow and Giles, who, like Sean, benefited tremendously. So John was not the only one who mistreated his first family, and yet George Martin is made out as a saint for his work with not only the Beatles, but America and the original Little River Band.
I don't think most people care about that. All bands come to an end. I think what will stand out was how she treated Julian and the controlling thing of setting up John with May Pang.
Decades ago they often used to have a Beatles movie marathon in Harvard Square, Cambridge, Ma. It included the movie Let it Be. Every time Yoko was on screen everybody hissed.
10 reasons... 1 because she appeared 2 because she didn't go away 3 because she cant sing 4 because she sang on Beatle tracks 5 because she hated John by the end and had affairs all over the place 6 because she controlled John, preventing phone calls getting through 7 because she ran away when the shots started, Olivia got stuck in 8 because she stole Georges biscuits 9 because she has the artistic talent of a mushroom 10 because Chapman could have shot her instead of John
To show just how absolutely deranged John was about Yoko, once, when he was asked about Chrissy Hinde and the Pretenders' music, he replied that he liked it, but that Yoko had done that stuff years earlier. To which I instantly replied, FU, John! BULLSH*T!!! John's last album had 11 songs on it, 5 very good ones of his, 6 vicious, nasty noise ones by her.
This triggered me to listen to Yoko's songs on the last album. Not good. Childlike. Unintelligible voice. One song in particular 'Yes, I'm your angel' sounds like the classic song 'Makin' Whoopee'.
I think it's obvious who was the better writer! After the break-up Paul was the one who had the tremendous solo career! First with Wings, then as a solo artist! Paul had hit after hit after hit!
Paul was very fortunate to have Linda, who was his rock until her death in 1998. Linda was really the one who encouraged Paul to form a band after the Beatles and start writing again. He wouldn't have had that tremendous solo career without Linda's love and encouragement.
I feel if Yoko Ono never came around (or at least didn’t act like a narcissistic bitch) the Beatles would have still broken up, but would reunite on certain occasions. Some examples would be Live Aide, Woodstock 94 or 99. The London Olympics with a special guest guitarist to fill George’s role. I’m convinced Lennon would not have been murdered if not for Ono. She wasn’t responsible, but his fate was sealed upon meeting Ono.
With the modern AI tech demonstrated in "Now and Then," I would love to see a remixed John and Chuck performance with all of Yucko's vocal nonsense and all video images of her edited / CGI'd out.
Shortly before John Lennon was shot/murdered, Yoko Ono publicized John's/their daily schedule and routes. Former bodyguards (she removed bodyguard security) thought as such, she was reckless and created great danger. We can only speculate that she intended for John to be vulnerable to known threats... very likely for such a proven cold-hearted selfish woman that was having sex with other men behind a closed door to their bedroom. John Lennon was the ultimate lover; how else could a person write the lyrics he wrote. John was full of grace and mercy as he unconditionally loved Yoko Ono. John Lennon chose to be blind to her selfishness and allowed himself to be manipulated. His first wife was the ultimate wife. She never complained to the press about John Lennon. I guess that kind of wife was boring to John Lennon. With good marriage counselors and commitments to exercise recommendations, John Lennon could have restored his first marriage to a good woman before the divorce.
The only person Beatles fans should be pissed off at is John. He was a grown man. He is the one who tried to force Yoko down everyone's throats. She didn't put a gun to his head to do it. It was all him
She couldn’t stand not getting attention so she did her shrieking bit to steal the spotlight from Chuck and John. I believe she was always jealous of John’s talent and fame.
Never believed her narrative that she didn't know wjo the Beatles were. There she was, in London, just happened to meet him, and didn't know who he was? if he'd been the custodian instead she'd never have looked twice at him. When he was still married to Cynthia, she climbed into their car and wedged herself between the two of them. No scruples at all.
Yoko's song, "Every Man Has a Woman Who Loves Him" is the highlight of the "Double Fantasy" album, released just before John Lennon's murder. Best track on the album by a country mile.

Regardless of her influence over John, she's just a plain bad artist. Experimental, conceptual or otherwise.
I dunno some of it made you think. And peace isn't a bad concept to promote. But the rest well they can keep the bagism and stuff. But she was and is out there. Number 1: Existing
Or if John would have stayed with his first wife, Cynthia Lennon. He was still married to Cynthia Lennon when he started his affair with Yoko.
Out of all the ladies that would've thrown themselves at John, he picked this kook. Of course she was in it for the fame and money.
And the power, as a substitute for her own lack of talent and integrity.

I always assumed that whoever sang the song was the main writer

Yes that was bad about cutting Julian out and the McCartney Lennon request was just immoral. Greedy greedy greedy. Down right immoral of her. It wasn't her decision to make. Shouldn't have been. But Paul was doing the right thing asking about the purchase of the rights to Northern songs and she buggered that up too. Paul's been good to Julian and even reaching out to John before he went. They were on good terms as far as I remember.

The way she treated Julian was the worst. Many children from first marriages can empathize.
To show just how absolutely deranged John was about Yoko, once, when he was asked about Chrissy Hinde and the Pretenders' music, he replied that he liked it, but that Yoko had done that stuff years earlier. To which I instantly replied, FU, John! BULLSH*T!!! John's last album had 11 songs on it, 5 very good ones of his, 6 vicious, nasty noise ones by her.
lumping the Pretenders in with a lot of "new wave" nonsense was not astute for sure

If that's true, she's a damn cow.

5:22 what the fu-
Jonathon Ross has zero balls whatsoever for that last remark. What a suck up!
In my opinion, the band was going to break up anyway, with or without Yoko dating John.
That's not an opinion, that's accepted fact.
Of course they would've break up
When you think you are God and acting like one nothing good will happen to you .
The band would breakup anyway. But without her a reunion could happen as John wouldn't have left UK.
Absolutely, when James Paul McCartney passed that was it . George and Ringo especially couldn't stand billy
The ultimate toxic feminist...
Why did she have to interrupt anyone? That shows that she didn’t care about the band or music, but wanted attention on her in any way she could get it
John is responsible for all of it. She had something physically that made him discard his reality for it.
she was unafraid of rejection and John mistook that for courage -- she had backing, that's all, and she didn't love him
Damn i would never have guessed that the Devil was japanese
Japan was actually a nation that was obsessed with devils.
Japan has its share of devils, despite the cute superficial image.
7th of December ring a bell?
Chuck berry was ready to leave a chalk outline Yoko
Heroine! 🙂
Yoko Ono did not break the Beatles up. It was their time to move on and for each of them to do their own thing, that's all.
Yoko's singing is terrible
My spirit has always recoiled from Yoko and haven't been a big fan of John either
Number 1: The day she was born 😂
Yoko's song, "Every Man Has a Woman Who Loves Him" is the highlight of the "Double Fantasy" album, released just before John Lennon's murder.
Best track on the album by a country mile.
I’ve never been a fan of yoko ono and her music is nauseating. Her treatment of Julian Lennon is certainly my reason for hating her.
Annoying and insufferable in every way!
Roght
I learned in a music appreciation course that music is noise but other than that yeah, not a YO fan either.
Her “music”…
she never produced anything worth a damn.
Sean?
