    Thanks; nice video. I clicked on it wondering how they could possibly improve a perfect bag (for me) and I'll say it took many of the features I like about the current version and added very few features I'd actually use so I'm very happy sticking with the previous.
    The previous edition seems like they planned for every possible use case anyone would have for the bag which makes it a true multi-role backpack. This version goes away from the more tactical and gear-hauler use cases to focus on just the EDC and office-use ones. Understandable changes, but I'll happily stick with what I've got.

    Thanks for the review Danny! Is the olive X-Pac very similar in color to the 1680d Cordura Aer uses? The olive X-Pac appears darker in some photos I’ve seen but your video makes it seem like it could look almost the same shade of green

    Great video as always. That olive color is pretty sweet-looking, reminds me of the Able Carry Daily Plus. I like the reduced weight, but agree the reduction in pockets (especially the CCW pocket, which was great for wallets, cash, phones, etc) took away some of the unique personality of the bag. I might keep rocking my 1.5 Full & keep saving up for the updated 2023 Whitley. Thanks Danny!

    Great review, Danny. Very comprehensive. I've been using the 1.5 full as my edc, but upgrading to this would make me miss a few of the features on the previous gen. It's definitely an upgrade in certain areas and very streamlined.

      Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! I haven’t had a chance to use the twill in real life so I can’t say for sure but it looks pretty solid as well, although I still really like the x pac version

    Hi Danny, really awesome review, thanks, for work office and occasional work/personal travel, I like this backpack and Aer CPP, which one could you recommend?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Both are great options overall, the evade is quite a bit bigger than the CPP, but I prefer the layout and aesthetic of the CPP. Both are really comfortable and durable so I think the look and size are the main things (if you like the CPP but want something closer in size to the evade I would also consider the aer travel pack 3 small which is probably my favorite of the three

    Thanks for the "wearing the bag" part. There are not so many videos about this bag and it is always on a table...
    It seems a little bulky when packed, I would have love to see it on your back not packed with the compression straps (or dit I missed it?).
    Anyway, thank you for this complete review.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! The bag holds its shape for the most part so it will still look fairly big when not packed out, I don’t have a shot of me wearing it compressed down but I do have a shot in the video of the bag on its own when it’s compressed

    The previous version is my absolute favorite pack. Additionally, I have never noticed the extra weight.

      Thank you for watching and I agree, the weight of the previous edition never bothered me!

    • @uyt6uyt5

      @@dannypacks Good to find a reviewer who does not have an issue with the weight. And after going over and over the two editions, analyzing the pros and cons of each, I personally feel that the newest edition is an overall downgrade from the previous one; and at a higher price.

    It looks massive now for some reason. Seems like they’ve made an error with the bungee placement too.

  • @SkipHarper
    @SkipHarper 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hi Danny, nice review and you picked up on some of my disappointments:
    - the front bungee cord blocks both pockets
    - compression straps are a head scratcher and not well thought out
    - admin section is the worst of any AON bags past and present, loop sits so low that added organization is partially blocked by the pocket flap
    - top handle feels cheap and not nearly as nice as the previous Evade or Pathfinder
    The form factor is better, however features have been de contented and user experience is marred by poor design elements. AON can definitely do better.

      @dannypacks  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for watching! Definitely a tough choice, I have a video I’m working on comparing the gr2 and this one, overall I would say the evade may be better for most people due to the harness and water bottle pockets but for me I still lean towards the gr2 for its organizational layout and the aesthetic

    Does this fit under the seat of the plane?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for watching! I think it can but will depend on how packed out the bag is and how small the airplane is, so if the bag is completely packed it can get a little bulky and I could see it being pretty snug to get it under the seat of more budget airlines

  • @franciscosantoni8126

    Dealbreaker: no excuse for omitting side handles which facilitates handling the pack so much, and why just 25L-minimum 30 L pack would have been perfect ! Verdict: no deal..will evade the Evade

    • @JayWing9
      @JayWing9 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The compression straps act like side handles. 25L is misleading, the bag feels like a 28L to me.

      Side handles on a backpack are useless.
