I just realized you haven't reviewed this yet. If I see pack hacker review this before you something is up. Those guys are always a year late on everything
I love the bungee cord on the front and compression straps. I use the bungee to wrap my sweaty gym shirt in once I leave the gym so its not inside my bag. This bag has so many great uses.
Only thing I’d change would be to put the bungee mount in front of the admin zippers like the old version, now they block zipper. Everything else is great, I think this is the best all around 25ish liter backpack out there. I always use sternum straps, my chest is broad so it pushes the straps out too far without one, they make things fit better. I like load lifters too, I guess it depends on the geometry of where you wear the pack if you feel any difference.
I agree with you about load lifters, especially on any pack smaller than 30L- they really don't seem to do anything assuming the main backpack straps are well designed, and just add to a busy/bulky look that doesn't bend into an every day urban environment.
What's good George? Big negatory on the sternum straps for me. I've been rolling with the Aer Travel Pack 3 for a while now and took the sternum strap off. Great review as always.
Great review. I think the size or the 1.0x is better for edc. I would consider the 1.5 just a little too big. May be better for small trip travel. If and when AON makes the 1.0 with the same substrates and zippers as the 1.5 offerings, I’m going to be first in line! I find myself wishing for less rigidity and smoother zippers than the Xpac and waterproof zippers on my 1.0x.
Literally deciding between these two. Thanks for the vid. Not sure the 1.0x is worth that extra jingle. Does that leather wrapped handle feel like it will wear excessively and come unstitched after a while?
would you consider the diameter of the 32 oz nalgene to be the max size that the bottle holder can use? I have the original 1.5 and loved that it could hold my 36 oz yeti, and that has come a bit of a requirement for me lately. I did read that the 32 oz nalgene has a 3.5 inch outer diameter and the 36 oz yeti has a 3.75 inch diameter. I have never seen anyone put anything bigger in this version than the nalgene. I would appreciate your insights on this.
I had the twill originally, and sold it for the same pack in X42 instead. Twill is definitely a beefier material and smoother to the touch, with more water resistance, but it was too shiny for me. I have other bags in 500D and 1000D nylon and if you have pets, it is a hair/fur magnet so it can be kind of a pain to clean sometimes. I found the X42 material to be a good middle ground between the twill and 500D.
@@FungusUSMCI ended up with one in Twill, Coyote, and Multicam Black. I don’t have any issues with the Coyote or Multicam Black picking up pet hair with 2 cats and 2 dogs. I have had that trouble with Goruck bags in 500D and 1000D. The Twill is a bit shiny for sure, but not as bad in person as in a lot of pics and videos. Great freaking bags for sure.
@GeorgeDEFINED I decided to go with the 1.0X I put my order in today. That Weekender Duffle looks really nice, too. I might have to grab that one next.
Sadly I've only seen resellers on ebay if you want the original Evade 1.5, I'm also bummed out they discontinued them before i could buy one. I felt the original Evade had the perfect blend of tactical and gray-man look, and the bungee system made more sense. The new one is too professional and i didn't bother putting on the bungee cord because it didn't look right, and got in the way of the bottom quick access pocket zipper. I also didn't like how I have to spend almost an additional $50 if i want the magnetic patch panel, I liked the original's permanent velcro panel. Other than than those gripes, I still enjoy using the new Evade and it's become my #1 work and travel bag.
Damn man I am glad you are blessed but do you have to brag about having 7 inches of depth. My wife was in the room now I have to explain why my backpack only has 4 inches in depth…….lol hope you laughed great video!!!
I really gotta get me one of these

Love your reviews, George, well done as always.
Great review as always. I use sternum straps when wearing bags on my motorcycle, it keeps the bag from shifting while leaning over.
Great review.
How would you say the evade compares to the evergoods cpl26?

I would love if they had like more pockets organizers at the velcro for cables
Time go really fast, watched your channel review of the old one and it was few years ago.
Great review, appreciate your attention to detail. Only use a sternum strap on my 38L pack

Thinking of this or the evade… any thoughts George?
Y was very crazy of this bag....j hesite avec un triple augh design axiom...

How comfortable is the harness compared to a GR2, or Aer TP3 or CPP?
Do you recommend the Xpac or Twill, recognizing you've used both? The Xpac seems crispy, which I don't love. But functionally, like. Thoughts?
This man gets me excited to spend $250.
Evade 1.0X vs this one? Which one did you prefer?

How do you like the Twill compared to their standard 500D? Torn between those two in black

ave to always use the sternum strap only because I have lost so much weight an unhealthy amount of weight.
Do you have a sense as to how much volume is in the main compartment?
I'm torn between 1.5 and the 1.0x, which one would you get if you had to choose?
My load out fits well in both. I like the little extras on the 1.0x personally.
Get the 1.5. I only own the x and I regret getting it and not saving over $100 for the 1.5
@GeorgeDEFINED I decided to go with the 1.0X I put my order in today. That Weekender Duffle looks really nice, too. I might have to grab that one next.
Anybody cut off the load lifters?
I need your top 5 bags
That video is over due... The 1.0X is in my top 5
Not on this pack but on a fjallraven, used the bungee to carry 2 frozen pizzas from the store that don't fit inside a pack xd
Do you know where I can get the previous version? I wasn’t able to grab one before they discontinued them
