I owned the previous Evade 1.5 Full in 420D and it was great but still too heavy. This new one fixes everything that could be improved on the first, I think its the best looking 25Lish bag out there (I don't even own one, as I'm waiting for an eventual grey version). It seems a little less structured and more droopy than the previous version, but I'm ok with it since it weighs a lot less.
Great review! This is my Goldilox/Unicorn bag. I have searched high and low, and I pre ordered it on the announcement date. I have been using it since I got it. I still use the Griffin for office carry, but this is my every other use case bag. To break up the front panel, I’m using A19’s magnet patch, in the pocket they put in that was designed for it. That did the job 100% for me. Thank you again for talking me into the Griffin. I love that bag for office carry more than I should.
Great bag! That rectangular air tag pocket behind the face is also for a magnetized moral patch. Very similar feature set to the GR136 Northseeker. You gushed about the Northseeker and seemed relatively "meh" about the Evade 1.5. I assume that's informed by form not function?
Yeah. The Northseeker seemed a little more playful and less prescriptive. Don’t get me wrong, this is a very good bag, but it does feel a little tight in some places and chubby in others. Sometimes it’s just about feel. Ultimately, this is a great bag!
Love knowing there are other bag fanatics out there. Love your channel. I'd love to see your review of the CodeofBell X-Tote relative to the AON Chio-X.
I have been obsessing and doing my usual over thinking and research about buying a new backpack. Trying to balance needs with price. Half way through and this may be the one as long as the price is reasonable….
Nice! Have you checked out the Condor Urban Go Pack yet? It’s older but I’ve had mine for about 10 years without fail. This bag kinda reminds me of it. The Condor has water bottle holders that fully zip, laptop compartment, compression straps and more.
Lovely review as usual Clint. This looks really well thought out and functional as an EDC. Might go ahead and get this one. Trying to be a minimalist to not own more than 5 prices of watches and 5 backpacks...... Also I'm wondering will you review any of the osprey backpacks with air speed or any other backpacks with equivalent ventilation back systems? I'm in a hot climate place (30c+) so while a lot of the bags you've reviewed are lovely, they just aren't practical to use here
Are any of the front facing zippers lockable? With so many of the compartments facing away from you, I would be concerned about walking in a crowd with this bag. I agree, the quick access pocket would be better closer to the laptop compartment, again for security.
No, not intentionally so. Of course you could replace the zipper pulls and add a lock that would thread through the pulls, but this bag isn't designed with that security feature
Hey Klint. How do you like this harness system compared to the Aer TP3 you took on your Japan trip a while back? I'm torn between whether I should get this bag and the Aer TP3 Small as one personal item for travel.
Lovely review of a lovely bag. It's definitely an overall upgrade over the previous gen, but I love the previous gen more. Regarding your dis-loves, I think the center stitching would make it look more like the TAD bags 😅, but since you mentioned the sterile front I cannot unnotice it anymore. A19 does sell magnet patches. I think the QAP is in an ingenius place. Since it's in the tall admin pocket you barely notice it's there. I'd rather have that than it eating up space in the main or laptop compartments. I've seen it dangle there on other bags...and I'm not a man. I hope you do eventually get a hold of the old gen though I suspect you'd like the newer version more. 🤙
Hey Clint, good video! Really enjoy your content. I have an idea for you on something to try in your next video - warning you might not like it! Did you ever try a recording where you still start with your signature "boom" at the start, but then in the edit, skip past that and start the video playback right after you've said it. I get the feeling the boom pumps you up and sets a good tone for you for to present the content; but in watching, it's quite shocking and maybe even hard to get past for some; maybe your watchers love it or know you by it, but I can't name many other shows or productions that start in the same way. I know it's your signature thing so I get that for sure and certainly don't mean any harm. But I think you have enough that's really excellent about what you do and how you come across to stand on its own without it. Anyway just a thought as you continue to grow past 35k subscribers (which I have zero so yes I know that! and I realize no one asked me for my opinion). Just a thought. Looking forward to seeing more videos, keep up the great work.
The GR2 and this bag are both better than the aer you mentioned. If I were picking an airbag, I would be doing the travel pack three small. Honestly honestly, I think of everything you described I would probably go find a used GR2 on eBay or Poshmark or wherever and Rock that. Get a cheap one and know that it has a lot of miles left on it.
I'm not a fan of the look: it's very "school-y". I gravitate more towards the more minimalist designs like the Ablecarry Plus, Bellroy Venture Ready and Aer Pro Pack. I do, however, like the sheer organisational aspects to it
I like it, but when you started talking about the way it looks and its flat nose I did realise it looks a bit like a blobfish with that massive flat nose and tiny black tab eyes and zip mouth at the bottom :D
The small pocket inside the front admin pocket is designed primarily for their magpatch so you can add a patch to the front.

That eBags bag is still a GOAT that I kept and think "why am I not just using that" from time to time
Just acquired the twill version of this bag can’t wait to try it out.
That twill is cool - looks great!

Love that!
Klint warning his umbrella to stay put was awesome lol
Its a great bag but it does need more hook and loop on the front of the bag for ranger eyes

$225 spoke too soon 😢
@rich1958 When I see a bag I like, the first thing I do is go to the link in the description to check the price
I dont want anything over $190
Yeah that's a good one

I don’t have a ton of experience with Osprey bags….I’ll have to plan on that.

Hi Klint, thank you for the review as I'm thinking to buy one. Do you prefer the Evade or the GWA Citadel as they are similarly sized?
Oooooh. Tough call! I think I like the Citadel just a hair more but only because it’s a little simpler.
Hey Klint. How do you like this harness system compared to the Aer TP3 you took on your Japan trip a while back? I'm torn between whether I should get this bag and the Aer TP3 Small as one personal item for travel.
I like this a little better I’d say.

Appreciate hearing your thoughts on this!
Can you do a review on the EVERYDAY BAG 3.1 + MOD 1 (or 3.1 w/o +mod 1), Messenger Bag by earth workshop? Curious about your opinion.
I’ll add it to my list!
Hey Klint, how do you like this in comparison to the citadel you reviewed before this?
Hmm……I think if I had to pick one, I’d pick this over the Citadel, but I like the variety of colorways the citadel has.

Thanks for watching and thanks for the ideas!
What do you think between this and the aer city pack pro or the goruck gr2 26l ? Looking for an edc pack that can double as one bag travel, thanks!
The GR2 and this bag are both better than the aer you mentioned. If I were picking an airbag, I would be doing the travel pack three small. I think some bungee cords on the front of the bag would give it some more character and would look better in my opinion
It hinders the opening of the admin pocket by design. The top loops are behind the pocket.
@@j_crust4582 yes you’re completely right, didn’t consider that ! Good eye
Would a 17” fit? The laptop I carry for work is 15x10.5x1 and it’s not a Mac so no one specifies if it would fit
Tested to fit up to a current 16" MacBook Pro….dimensions on that are: 14.01 x 9.77 x 0.66"
@@ThePerfectBag appreciate the quick response. Appreciate the standard backpack look
What water bottle is that?
I got that at Starbucks a few years ago. They have fun stainless bottles usually.
