I’ll be buying this keyboard case for my future iPad Pro 12.9” and I’ll be using its versatility to go from typing essays w/the keyboard to note taking w/out the keyboard. I love the fact that the keyboard supports the magnets on the iPad so it snaps on.

The detachable case is reason why i bought this. There’re 2 issues i found annoying, 1 is some app such as amazon with a dock on the bottom, when you move your cursor to the bottom, it disappear or brought itself back to the top, make it very difficult to use the trackpad to navigate the app. 2 is for some website, you can’t really use the keyboard to scroll, most works with the arrow buttons, but some doesn’t.

regarding opening the keyboard, you might want to try a thin piece of Velcro as a tab they make a Velcro for material that is very thin. what I see as a major drawback is the pencil the magnet on all of the cases is not strong enough to hold the pencil when you carry it, I have almost lost mine several times.

Watching this on my new 12.9 iPad Pro with the Logitech Combo Touch purchased 2 days ago. I was looking to replace my MacBook Pro purchased in 2019, initially I was going to wait for the next version of the MacBook Air but so far I’m very happy with this combination of tech. I should be good for the next 3 years if not longer.

Oh yeah definitely, it is a powerful machine, and if they would add support for full apps like photoshop and final cut, I think it would change the game. The iPad is plenty powerful enough to be a full laptop replacement with the only lack being direct ports

Thanks for the great review. Simple and clear explanation of the functionalities and features. May I ask if the 2020 iPad Pro 12.9 4th gen can fit in this case without any compromise? I understand was supposed to be for the M1 5th gen but the physical specs seem to be similar for both. Not sure if there issues with the speaker grills, buttons, etc. Hope you can help. Thanks in advance.

You are welcome, I appreciate it! I have tried to do some fact checking for you and when I search it; it says 5th gen. But the size of the iPad and everything is identical. 8 believe even down to the speaker placement. So I believe you should be fine with the 4th gen iPad. I even read an article saying “this case was intended for the 5th gen iPad Pro but also works with 3rd and 4th gen devices”. I say go for it

Great review for a great iPad accessory. I had the Logitech slim combo for my IPad Pro 2nd Gen. it was great! It didn’t have a touch pad so that part of it folded under keeping the footprint in front of the iPad much shorter. I’m still getting used to this combo touch with my M2 iPad 12 Pro. The footprint is quite a bit longer in front of the iPad. Mainly, is whenever I’m typing, I’ll inadvertently touch the track pad & it will make some crazy mistakes. I’ve been searching several sites trying to find out how to disable the track pad. I love the case (it really protects my iPad especially when playing a gig on my piano) & keyboard so hope to find out how to disable the track pad. Any ideas? BTW, the kick stand will fold down a lot further than you pointed out so I use it for drawing in ProCreate. Yes, Logitech should have included the pencil sleeve like on the original slim combo, it would enable you to open the case up much easier as well.

Great review video. I bought an iPad Air 4th Gen 2 years ago and bought the previous version of this keyboard. The only gripes I had about the old one was that the keyboard was just basically a loose flap, meaning you counldt use it on your lap easily or set it on an angle with out the kick stand. I also liked the flap that folded over where the pencil was connected. It also had a slot so you could use a different stylus. I have since bought the current version of this with the detachable keyboard and aside from missing that pencil flap, it is much more suited to my style of use. Very good product and for the price, its the only logical choice!

The pencil, should one be inclined, has no home that Keeps it with the iPad and case.
The keyboard can be flipped and reattached to the back, keeping both halves together.

Another perk is it amplifies speaker volume. Its speaker holes focus the sound that is concentrated in the plastic sills that creates a nice stereophonic speaker effect that echoes & amplifies music and media really well. Another side perk is the keyboard cover I’ve for Magic Keyboard works for combo touch too; it just doesn’t cover the function row but 90% transferability ain’t bad at all.

Have you encountered any issues when using the keyboard and trackpad? I found that there are times when the keyboard is unresponsive/randomly zooms in safari. I have to restart my ipad to get it working again. That wouldn't be a problem if it didnt bug out every day that I use it

the Magic Keyboard is form over function and the Combo Touch is function over form - it’s as simple as that

Pretty disappointed with this one. I returned it. There is no latch or something that goes over the pen to keep it in place. I opted for the ZAGG case just for that reason. The magnet on the pen and iPad is strong but that pen won’t stay in place in a bag or pouch.

I agree. They should have added some kind of pencil support, I have started using a different case for casual use without a keyboard and it has a much better design with pencil security

How about logitech combo touch vs. ESR ascend or rebound magnetic keyboard cover ?

I’m not sure, I haven’t used one of those before, I do really like the logi case though. Works perfect for my needs

I don't necessarily like the flap, not very good for sitting in your lap

If Apple would have designed, produced and sold this, it would have been a major disappointment. I have both.

You skipped the best part, attach the keyboard upside down and it clicks on the back with the keys protected

If you can't use it on your lap then it's a desktop not a laptop.
