As a Kenyan i have mixed feelings about this. I love the idea that Kenya is developing and its a melting pot of different cultures, i like that i can get different cuisines and my fav noodles closer home ,however hope it wont be a case of giving someone an inch and them taking a mile. Hope that will be all, however with the opening of the new china mall i doubt. Our leaders better be very careful with these deals

The problem becomes huge later on when you find out that all retail trade is cornered by foreigners and locals don't own any thing...
Indians and Chinese tend to lock out locals from trade and thus control what you eat wear and use for everyday living. Africans must control these areas. Please monitor what they are doing.
West Africa is Lebanese east and southern Africa is Indians and Chinese.
What trade do Afrucana do .? With AfCTFA.who will benefit when Africas borders are open?

They don't share anything but africans want to mindlessly "share" like they're our friends. When really all they're interested in exploiting african capital and selling goods from their country to boost their economies. You think they'll sell mostly african products in china malls? Or they would open an african mall in china and sell african products?

Interesting and scary all at the same time. For the restaurants, the gov needs to make sure that all these meats are investigated and inspected. Remember what happened last time🐕. Are all the businesses registered and paying taxes? It's okay to have a small Chinatown but make sure the inch doesn't turn into a mile. Saw some lovely things in the store you went to.

The Chinese are making their mark here in the Caribbean as well. They were among the first persons who came to Jamaica after the abolition of slavery, they started businesses mainly in the wholesale and retail trade. Over the years I have seen their impact in other areas for example in large infrastructure projects such as the construction of major highways. They have contributed to our culture as well. It's because of their presence along with other nationalities like the Indians who came here as indentured workers that our motto says "out of many one people."

Jason Forsythe that is so interesting.
In fact the Chinese were the first immigrants to the Kingdom of Hawaii. They ventured there after being discriminated on West Coast.
As most are not privy to history or history that is valid and correct. Kingdom of Hawaii is the first established Non-Caucasion, Internationally Neutral Soverign Kingdom established in 1840.
Slavery was abolished before the Emancipation Proclamation (usa)
Sun Yet Sin, called the Father of China was educated in the Kingdom of Hawaii and ventured to utilize our political structure in China.
The Chinese became loyal citizens of the Kingdom of Hawaii. Even to the illegal overthrow in 1893.

Stop being a propagandist and peddler for china. Only black people will celebrate other people dominating their country. What is that doing for you? Nothing. They're helping themselves. A few peace meal actions doesn't mean they're doing it for you. If they live somewhere of course they want good infrastructure that they can use

There seems to be a Little Chinatown in every country and major cities. The government should ensure that they are not manipulating them and taking disadvantage of the Kenyans. They are in Jamaica in abundance and they are not very keen at having Jamaicans work for them. They are very good for the economy, but nothing is free with the Chinese.

As a Singaporean, back when Singapore was dirt poor after the war and colonialism, and wanted to ride on foreign investment to develop, our government put in safeguards to ensure the transfer of foreign skills to the local populace. Japan and US companies were the main investors, limits were put on how many non-locals they can hire, etc. Even today, there are limits as to foreigners who want to invest in real estate, communications and certain key sectors in the country.
Foreign capitalist investment will always want to strike a good deal to make the highest profit for themselves, but if you keep your wits around you, and your government protects local people’s interests, you will be able to ride this wave to prosperity.

Wherever they are it's development, now visit any place that has Chinese as part of its population such as South East Asia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore you will be shocked at the levels of development in these countries. They've become part of these societies they invest heavily and play very little part in politics as a result they have created jobs for the local indegeneous communities.

They used to have Chinese and even Vietnamese restaurants in Kenya 30 years ago only problem I find is poaching and killing off endangered rhinos and elephants or if the criminal element comes in or if the Chinese communist government begins to spread it's tentacles in ...dont mind the melting pot thing ...but hopefully they respect the culture and don't take advantage of people...

Little China/China Town is a normal sight in almost all develop cities even in America and Europe. As long as they respect the Law of the Land I don't see any problem. In fact they bring something different. Plus China have been pretty great economical partner for Africa as a whole. Not perfect but great nevertheless. Great video.

That was the implication of you coming in the try to calm them down by telling them that there are african towns in china. What was your reason for saying that if not to imply that we should accept a china town?
"But when you travel to many Asian country even China you see an African area"
"China mall" is a store not a town or neighborhood. And even that i don't know how it's benefitting us.
But you said it's our choice so why do you care if i feel the same about europeans? Why do i need to be consistent with any kind of policy/belief when you didn't care before? You didn't seem to care at all if the relationship with china was fair.

Europeans at least don't create europe town. I heard there was some apartment or hotel somewhere in africa where only white people could go. Yes i'd be equally against that. I won't through up my hands and say as long as it's 'policy' like you did with the chinese. No, i don't care what the government has decided, we all still have sense of what's right and wrong and human dignity.
If someone does something like this just because a ''policy" allows them, i won't want them in my country

@@blackblaze5271 What the hell are you even on about huh? Many people are ignorant to the fact that China Town exist in most city of the world so I was informing them of that.
Plus China Town existence isn't detrimental to Africa in any way so what is the problem. A lot of us Africans actually enjoy Chinsese foods and other part of their culture and that is something that you can get in China Town without having to go to China. They provide opportunity for jobs and trade.
Like I am really trying to understand what is the reason that you have an issue with China Town existing in Africa.

Well ,what are African men doing about it? they certainly aren't helpful as they are the main aggressors in their own country and communities. Not once have I been robbed by a Chinese person but multiple family members of mine have been subjugated to harm by a different black man. China is good for business. Africa needs to learn to compete or die.

Ezekiel 21: 6-11(KJV) Sigh therefore, thou son of man, with the breaking of thy loins; and with bitterness sigh before their eyes.
And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt answer, For the tidings; because it cometh: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord GOD.
Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:
It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son, as every tree.
And he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.

I wouldn't mind it, it's typical when a large group of foreigners settles In a country they invest in. They are bound to create their own little economic zone the same way Jewish, Somali, Chinese, and even Kenyans to a degree have their own zone, its because it helps immigrants from those countries settle in. Reading the comments you would think China is trying to take over Kenya or something, so paranoid.

The intolerance and fear mongering by some here in the comment section over small Chinese commercial areas is sad to see. China has been a net positive for not only Kenya, but all of Africa. It's approach is totally different to the West's. Instead of criticising, may be express a little gratitude!

Where's chinese tolerance? You telling them to tolerate the uighurs in their country? Where is nigeria towns in china? Gambia town, kenya town? Why do they need a china town? Why not live like the visitor and foreigner you are instead of trying to claim a space in another groups country and insulate yourself from their culture? When you go to china they want you to speak chinese, but when they go to africa they want to create a closed off community so they don't have to deal with the society, learn the culture or obey it's laws
