Chinese is very hard because it is a tonal language. English speakers have a very tough time. Some languages in Africa are also tonal languages so perhaps it is easier for Africans who speak languages other than English.

Even as brutal as colonialism was by the British, just look at how small as a nation Britain on the world map butthe whole world have to learn English now for international communication! Just pride alone will not get you anywhere if you don't learn from other, the Chinese do! Think about it!
