Nimoma is so great! That suicide moment really stood out to me, and made me seriously ugly cry. It almost perfectly mirrored what I said to myself before I made a suicide attempt a couple years ago. Mine was, "Everyone wants me dead. It's time to give the crowd what it wants." Her line really caught me off guard when I first heard it, lol.
Even when Nimona transforms into the monster others perceive her to be, she doesn't even lash out. She just trods along over to the statue, with the knights and guards attacking her and causing all sorts of damage and harm in the process. She's letting everyone show their true colours, and taking the pain of that. That bigotry doesn't go away in an instant. You can't mass-unlearn 1000 years of cultural brainwashing in a short period of time. There isn't the happily ever after ending Nimona and ballister might deserve. But it leaves room for people to learn from the past and unlearn those harmful perceptions, and Ballister's keeping that fight alive in his heart. I think between that, and her last form being a phoenix, she finds a way to return.
@@SaidByTy N.D. Stevenson got the idea for an assignment for class, then it turned into a webcomic, and got published. And the he was like ahhhhh crap this has been about me being trans all along, huh, and came out as some shade of nonbinary and later bigender (uses he/him). So when the movie was in development it was a lot more explicitly a trans allegory since it was conscious not subconscious, and more positive overall when it comes to acceptance.
Goldenloin isn't even the craziest name, in the graphic novel there's a knight named Sir Girthrod. Nate Stevenson is a menace, he also drew Nimona's shark form with titties.
@@SaidByTy Yeah! Nate (ND) Stevenson started it as a Webcomic I think a bit before starting college then it gained enough traction to get published in print and won a few awards. Also helped him get the gig as the show runner for the newer She-Ra cartoon. His deadname's on a lot of both. The graphic novel is significantly different from the movie too, so highly recommend it as a different journey with the same characters. ND also talked about the process of drafting Nimona on their blog back in June of last year, it's a fun post!
I like how you noticed the setting of the film. I believe the creators purposefully did this to demonstrate how "medieval" the society was despite having advance technology. Also, I recommend you read the graphic novel. It's different from the book.
If I had a nickel for every time Chloe Grace Moretz kicked ass to the rock version of the banana splits theme I’d have two nickels! It’s not a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice!
two of y more hated cliches are related to shapeshifters :> the one here. OMG SHAPESHIFTER EVIL!! or, "I got turned into a shapeshifter that has no downsides,m I'm a monster."
'puss in boots' then 'puss in boots the last wish', watching all the sherk series for puss seems pointless when they have there own movie. Also hi i'm new just subbed today, but i have so many good movies you could watch. i'll be lurking in the shadows till you watch more.😶🌫 (already bout to watch your other vids because you're really funny 🙂) edit: oop you watched it lol still, funny though.
@@SaidByTy glad to be here 🤩 I think you’ll love the how to train your dragon movie series! Since is a good one, and interesting plus.. damn I can’t spoil it just know it’s good it has cool animals in them to say the least.

I'm glad you're still here bestie
Well I’m happy to see you here with us ❤️
Gloreth will PAY for her crimes 😔😤
YES SHE WILL
She's dead now. The only way she can pay is by being forgotten, like de la Cruz.

Great analysis 👍🏾
1000 years is a millennium. Millennia is the plural.
16:53 that felt homophobic 😂😂😂
also the creator is trans so that's why they nailed the concepts for this movie
Makes sense! Glad to know I wasn’t reaching lol.

I didn’t even know it was based off a graphic novel 😮

The last thing she transformed into was a phoenix, if that helps 👀
Ooooohhhhhhhh. This is telling!
and she somehow overthrew the goverment... all like she rambled about when she first met boldheart....
I have never understod how people miss that.

I didn’t notice this until I rewatched Kick-Ass and I was pleasantly surprised.
24:29 this is the scene I sobbed 😭😭
Me and Nimona have in common because, we both know how we feel when people call us names and we lash out on people
Happy Valentine's Day gays, gals, and non-binary pals
why not to everyone ?
11:09 *upvote* 👍
Even Gordon Ramsey hates pineapple on pizza every time I see this I cry like a lil bitch 😂
she would beat beast boy, he can't turn into as much as she can
and hewould be unable, to match her crazy....
