Great game. Played it a second time immediately after finishing it the first time (which is rare for me). You just got to try more echoes because there are definitely some that work much better than others in specific situations. If you're not doing that, you're just powering your way though and I can see how that would get boring. For example, beds are great early on but they are outclassed by trampolines, water blocks, those lift enemies, and even flying tiles... plus just having that frog ring accessory (whatever it was called) lets you jump a lot of things. I'd say the thing that felt OP was Lynels. Once you get a Lynel, you don't really need anything else for ground combat (but there's still enemies in the water and air to deal with).
@@JesseCFG yeah like I said I'm not creative enough for this kind of game haha. I never messed around much with many of the echoes but if that is something you're inclined to do I definitely think you'd get a lot more out of the game.
As a lifelong Zelda fan, wish I liked it more. Using echoes for every situation (and by extension using that awful menu) just pulled me out of the experience everytime I started getting into it. Using echoes for combat is straight up not fun.
@@letsgobombo yes they really need to fix the echo AI for combat. It added so much time waiting for them to finally decide to attack or having to resummon them because they'd die too quick. Definitely rough around the edges but shows promise I think. A solid start to build upon
Idk i didnt like TOK nor this game, idc that u play as zelda, ik they want to take zelda in a different way, but i just dont like the open world and scribblenauts concept for a zelda game, i like the small amount of arsenal that u get and have to solve puzzles with, thats why i really Loved Botw too, yeah the "dungeons" sucked but that was kind of it, everything else was amazing especially on your first play through. This feels like how assassins creed went a different direction so now we have a split fan group. Its going to happen here too most likely.
@@SpoonTaco I definitely hear what you're saying. I think this game at least still mostly felt like zelda. Sure it wasn't totally linear but the relative structure was very "classic top down zelda." I think with some refinement they could really have something here so I hope they keep iterating on it.
I enjoyed my time with the game, but I also found myself with a sense of regret over the fact I'd paid full price for it. It didn't feel worth it. I do see it as a sort of.... 'sign of hope' so to speak. TOTK is my favorite Zelda but I also see the mountain of flaws that it has, and I still believe that it carries BOTW's stigma of "Its not a Zelda game", Since Echoes kinda proved that they can do this open ended approach and still make it feel like Zelda. I do agree that it feels a bit lame that THIS is the 'Play as Zelda' game we got. It really didn't live up to how big of a deal that was for us.
@@ZtotheMills yeah I get what you mean. I think with some more refinement this really could have been something special. I do hope they make another game in this style and get rid of some of the rough edges that this one had
Why you pay full price? Any game worth full price because you have promos everytime, this one i buy pre order with one extra promo so i pay 35€ pre order... I even get the zelda keychain
@@andregouveia3258 I wasn't gonna buy a collectors edition and I didn't want to wait for however many years it took for Nintendo to put the game on sale.
@@ZtotheMills You buy the digital edition? I never do that beceuse is always more expensive ( for nintendo exclusives) with retailers i found alwals good discounts, this for example i had the game in day 1 with 15% pre order and mix with other discount (42% discount total). Some games i can find that i waith 1 or 2 mouths, for me any game worth more than 40€.
Very surprised by the value being worth. Seems very simplistic. And having a linear selection for all the echos seems super annoying. Although I guess when you're just spamming beds all game its not. Overall: M E H
There's another menu you can use that's a grid, but yeah the quick change bar got a little too big. There's still some good puzzles to be had and the world has a good number of secrets to find. Presentation is great. Not a groundbreaking masterpiece but still a solid adventure game
What's your favorite Zelda game?

@mdsuave13 that is a classic!
I liked it , it was different being a summoner vs a swordfighter

@@capn_sarge I think that's where the "playing as Zelda" aspect vs playing as Link in the traditional games.

No imagination huh
Personally I enjoyed it a lot but I went in with low expectations for the combat 😂
I kinda hope they keep the open ended tool box type puzzles for zelda les games and return link to more traditional games like WW and Oot
@@toddhowardforreal3912 I wouldn't mind that. Wind waker is my favorite 3d zelda game
