I am trying to lose weight by eating more healthily... few carbs....

    • @honestto8

Dr. Dhand, I used to be a very fit athlete, active lifestyle, ate some junk sometimes, took no supplements. Then I developed a condition wherein my body not only attacks itself (thanks jabs!) but can't absorb nutrients properly, so I eat very clean organic food and take vitamins/minerals/omegas literally all day, and still feel completely exhausted and in pain. So I'm trying to rest, eating high protein & fat, low carb, almost zero sugar, but gaining weight. Every time I exercise it depletes my nutrients so badly in the recovery process that I go into adrenal fatigue & other issues. Hair is falling out or breaking off shorter and shorter. I take adrenal support supplements every single day, reduced coffee to none, but I keep yoyoing with that because I'm just so dang tired and desperate to feel awake & energized. Seems to me all the supplements are a bandaid, not fixing the root. I'm in a very vicious cycle that I think lots of people are in and thats why they reach for sugar & get fat when otherwise we'd be normal. (Is it the constant wifi/EMF around all of us? 5G pulsing us to death??) Doctors have no clue, and I give up everytime I go back for testing after I spend a few k and get no real answers. They say all we can do is put you on steroids for life, (but steroids are hard on my already struggling liver- they'd drastically shorten my life, right?) Help!!

Obesity has become so common place that I am experiencing being body shamed for being within the former standard for healthy.. I am 60, stand 6' and weigh a very tone 168. I sometimes go down to 166 and as much as 169, depending on things as ordinary as the time of year.. and even the time of day.
We invited a friend over we hadn't seen in a long time. I weigh exactly the same as I did 26 years ago when we met. She, on the other hand, has put on about 60 to 80lbs. Now it would never occur to me to come into the room and say, "Oh my God! You are so big!"
But that is exactly what this woman did to me. She didn't greet me, hug me or greet me in any other way. She got this shocked look on her face and exclaimed, "Oh my God, you're so skinny."
What? I weigh exactly what I weighed 20 years ago.

I was once one of those people who might have been called fat but fit.. At 60 years old and about 50 pounds overweight, working in a factory, on a couple of occasions guys half my age asked me to slow down because I was making everyone else look bad. I walked at least five miles on most days and from 15-20 miles on Sundays. In the ten years since, I have become almost 100 pounds overweight, diagnosed with diabetes, developed peripheral neuropathy and am struggling to overcome that. (It's been a long, slow process, but I'm improving.) I was never much of a sugar lover, but ate LOADS of other carbohydrates (just like the infamous food pyramid advised). In my mind, doctors and their alma maters are guilty of a huge conflict of interest in not concentrating more on the effects of diet on health.

Doctor, you are a breath of fresh air in this now crazy world of 'medical care' we now find ourselves in. I can't believe the (fast-accelerating) changes that have happened in the UK (and the Western world) during my 78 year's lifetime. I have become more and more aware of the damage done by the so-called 'food' we consume these days, such that I do try to avoid processed food, seeking real, organic, non-GMO food where possible, growing what I can, making my own bread, taking a variety of vitamins/supplements (some of those having dubious 'filler' ingredients) and use my local gym/swimming pool frequently. Probably with thanks to you, I am also aware of the mass-poisoning of us due to the growing presence of glyphosate in our fruit, vegetables, meat, water, soil, etc, not easy to avoid, with links to cancer and brain damage.
As for the BBC and the rest of the controlled MSM, my disgust knows no bounds. Having recovered from prostate cancer last year, I shun processed sugar to the extent I can. As a 'real' ale fan, I do try to keep my intake to safe levels, stouts, being double-fermented, and healthier, my current favourite. I tried 0% beers until realising they are very high in sugar content, as it is not converted into alcohol, content not required on the label? Even today, there has been a warning put out about harmful substances found in some big-name 'cola's' - which I never drink anyway. As a Christian, I believe this is a spiritual battle, long prophesised in the Bible's account of the End Times, the Revelation of St John, and I thank you, and pray for your wellbeing. God Bless 🙏

A fat person whose health has not yet deteriorated all that much as both a direct and indirect result of the behaviours causing the fatness can indeed be fitter than an athletic person who is full of metastasized terminal stage cancer and has just been crushed in an industrial machine in a factory after having injured himself by accident with a sharp knife, severing his aorta.
The fat person would relatively speaking be a very fit happy camper, enjoying a nice coffee on a terrace in the sun overlooking the sea at Cinque Terre, Italy, noticing how his stock portfolio has just jumped up in value.
      Correct.

This is my problem. I used to be a very fit athlete, active lifestyle, ate some junk sometimes, took no supplements. Then I developed a condition wherein my body not only attacks itself (thanks jabs!) but can't absorb nutrients properly, so I eat very clean organic food and take vitamins/minerals/omegas literally all day, and still feel completely exhausted and in pain. So I'm trying to rest, eating only what's necessary, low carb, almost zero sugar, but gaining weight.

The remainder of more than a billion people who create demand for weight-loss drugs, as described, are obese and should be labeled as such. The solution should, preferably, not be looked for in drugs.
