Oh my gosh!! I so needed this tonight!! I’m 46 and finally finished my prerequisites! I’m so freaking excited!! I’m applying in 8 wks!! Single mom to a phenomenal swimmer!! We are a team and she knows I’m not only doing this for her and I but also to help others!! She’s an honor student and wants to help me succeed!! She has watched me up late at night studying so I can pass! Your video was awesome, in that it has given me more confidence to push through and NOT give up, even if we have to live in a one bedroom just to afford school without full time work. Thank you little brother!!
Hey Antonio I am 5 weeks into a PTA program and just wanted to thank you for the resources you provided on your channel. I appreciate you spreading your knowledge and journey with us all and I hope all who are curious about a program, applying to one, are currently enrolled, or whatever stage you might be in, that you find your footing! Good luck all :)
I got into PTA school a few days ago and start in a month, I have been freaking out over what I'm going to do for work. This video came at the perfect time!!
I’m 30 years old single mother and I am going to start my prerequisite in March so I can get into the PTA program. I work a full time job and I am really worried about managing working a full time job, be a mother, go to school and maintain good grades. I’ve been watching your videos for pointers and it’s helps a lot. Thank you for taking the time to do them!
I'm about to start my PTA program in a few weeks and I'm excited and extremely nervous. I raise my kid alone and work too which is challenging, but your kids will drive you to do great things when they're not driving you crazy 😂 I appreciate the videos you've made, Thanks!
Thank you for this informative video. I work full time as a server for an assisted living/rehab community. I am soon starting pre-reqs for the PTA program at my local community college as a first time student. I know working full time will be difficult while going to school, but it's something I am going to have to do to pay bills. I am hoping to stay in geriatrics as a PTA since I have worked with the elderly for many years, and am very passionate about working with them. I really appreciate these videos you have shared because they've helped ease my mind a little. Thank you!
I will start in January and I will be working and going to school. Thanks I like all your videos there easy listening and informative keep posting they're helpful
Hey man love your videos, I’m 29 years old and I’m thinking about going back to school for pta I’m already working 40 hours per week at a automotive laboratory and have a wife, daughter and a house I make a decent living with what I do now but I want to do better for my family lucky bakers is just down the road from where I work I know it would be a difficult 2-3 years but I think it would be good for my family thank you for all your videos all this information is positive and helpful!!!
Sandra M well my wife and I decided the schooling wasn’t going to work out with busy family life. shortly after we made that decision I revived a promotion at my current job and am making much better money doing the same job. So we are very happy where we are now. currently spending my free time with my two wonderful daughters and my wife and any extra time I spend getting ready for my two ultramarathons This fall. Life is good and we are very blessed in so many ways
Thanks so much for this video. I’m about to start my program in January 2021. I have a daughter and I have to have steady income coming into my home. Mentally ready to make sacrifices if need be. You put several things in perspective for me. Appreciate you.
Brother you are a blessing! I’d love to see a video on the podcast and apps you used through out the PTA program. If a video isn’t warranted I’d love to know what ones you used. Thanks Antonio!
I have a 4 year old and was pregnant during my first semester and had my baby over the Christmas break. I will be going in to my second semester with 2 kids, one only a few weeks old and during COVID. I really like watching your videos because they keep me motivated to continue pushing!
Hey Man, appreciate the tips. I’m going back to school applying to start PTA program next year. Super scared cause I have to work to maintain the bills. Going to be working hard to save between now and the start of the program so I can give myself a good find to work off of when I go part time. Appreciate these tips. Super nervous lol
Hello Antonio !!! I been watching your videos lately because I do want to be a PTA and your videos so helpful. Thank you for your advice and your time. I'm subscribe!!!😁🙌🏼
Nice videos Toño! I’m 40 yrs old and looking to start PTA program. I have been a tennis and a S&C coach for over 15 yrs and want to change careers. I need to keep working while doing the program because I’m paying my place, car, child spprt bills etc but nothing is impossible.
I have to work part-time and my husband will be working full-time to support me. We currently have no student debt and think we may be able to finish with $10k or less.
I am an army veteran about to graduate with my bachelors in exercise science, my goal is DPT school even with a current 3.93 GPA I feel like I wouldn't make it. Imposter syndrome is real, but to be fair I did not think I would have my first degree much less my 2nd. Been looking through all types of pre PT videos trying to build that motivation up. Iraq easy, school hard.
Hello, I take care of my 87 year old mother with chronic illnesses. In order for me to accomplish my career, I’ll need to place her temporarily in a home. I don’t like the idea, but I have to think about my life and future. My mom lives with me and I have difficulty focusing and often times I am distracted by taking of my mother. I know once I get her placed it will be better for me period. I hope that I am doing the right thing.
I have a 45 minute commute to class also, what youtubers/podcasters have good content to help learn while driving? I can’t fathom wasting almost 2 hours a day driving mindlessly
EJarbinks if you type in physical therapy in to your podcast app you can get a bunch of different topics, or if you go on to TH-cam and search content related to anatomy and how muscles function or how the heart functions or how the brachial plexus works it will help you when you are in the program. Hopefully in the future I can start producing more content as well that will cover interventions in PT or different stuff as well!
Antonio Sanson can you make a video on what classes to take together and what classes you shouldn’t take together through the pta program ? For instance I’m debating on taking kinesiology with other classes in the program , would you recommend that ?
I got accepted into the program a week ago and will start in October. I’m freaking out because my financial aid only covers the tuition and I didn’t get approved for private loans. I have bills and I need cash flow every month I’m not sure how am I gonna manage a job and the program specially now that I know it’s very demanding. :(
Will still be working full time. Did you know anything about the body before the program? I have a bit of knowledge about the human body as a personal trainer on the side. Hoping this will give me any jump ahead?
Can you please lmk what app you’re referencing for kinesiology and what are the best podcasts to listen to when wanting to further knowledge and study while on the road !:) thanks, love your videos. My interview is in 3 weeks and I’m stressing but I’m trying to enforce tip #5 relax
Once I start my pta program, I will have to work full time. I have my own place, bills and car payment. Idk how this is going to work out for me. But I'll figure it out once the time comes I guess.
I’m in Michigan also, and looking at Bakers program. Since I know that’s the program your in, I’m curious, what was your schedule once in the PTA program? I’ve heard some are Monday - Friday 8-5 and I’m curious how this program is. Thank you! :)
The Little Bookworm it’s changed since I went there I used to do 10 week semesters, I currently have a friend who is in the program now and she does 16 week semesters so I think the days she attends is different than what I used to do.
The program at my college says when I am at clinicals that it may include weekends. Is the weekends something I can negotiate because I work Fri-Sun overnight.
@@AntonioSanson Ok if that is the case and I cannot negotiate the weekend schedule, I might have to look for another career. I can't afford to go part time.
Hi so I have a question so I am enroll for PTA I am only taking one course for right now I am taking health care class I want know if you recommend to take online classes ?
First see what the college you want to attend to take the PTA Program at would recommend. But as far as taking your prerequisites I don't think its a bad idea to take them online. I took my prerequisites at a community college before I attended the college to take the program at because it was cheaper.
I'm a third year student and I'm a KIN major as an undergraduate. My question is can I get a job in physical therapy as an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology.
Prabjot Kaur you can probably get a job as a physical therapy technician or aide but you will need a license to be a PTA and a doctorates degree for a PT
Farrah97 I don’t remember the exact one Type in like kinesiology flash card app into the App Store and look for something that shows origin insertion and action of muscles
I would just research that question online and search for it on google or something like that. I don't know personally so I would just look it up the same way you can as well!
I know I have asked you before but I am currently a teacher 38 years old. Barely getting 59 after 12 years. Should I take a jump and do pt. Helping people all set aside. If I go into this field can I make that much?
Well more than 59. Don’t have a fancy lifestyle I’m not all about money but it’s top of the list. I guess what I mean is , I would have to quit as a teacher so basically Am i dumb for leaving a job that pays me 59 maybe the most I will get by the time I retire is 62. Let’s say money being top of list, would it be smart? Would I be able to make that money up being a pta? Sorry for confusion
Rick Chavez I don’t think that it would be too much of a benefit to leave your current job if you are solely basing it on income. Because you are at a decent salary and you would basically be starting over for not that much of a change in pay. Hopefully that helps some.
Honestly, outside of money will being a PTA make you happy? Because you'll be taking on more debt by going back to school. I think if you do what your passionate, you'll find away to make the most money. But if its all about money and not about being happy or fulfilled. You may have issues later. One of the worst things is going into a job you hate or can't stand. I dont care how much you make
