    Great little video, clear and precise, no gimmicky chit chat and good to see the finished results. Especially good for GoPro amateurs like me! Thanks! Now I'll just have to re-shoot my nighttime footage!😄

      Hey Ethan! Thanks for your comment . I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with your Hero 10! Yep, I've been an Adelaide and for a long time now. I really like it here. I filmed the intro down by the Torrens straight after a an AFL game at the Oval so you can probably hear some of the fans in the background. Hope you find my video and thanks for watching.

    Great tutorial video Tim! Nice quick intro, shots with changing the settings were nice and clear and it was good having the examples at the end. Keep it up! #vrafam

    I just bought a cheaper version than a gopro so this is super interesting to me! I think I can use these settings to my own Akaso.😜

      Hey there I hadn't heard of your brand before- they are not so well known in Australia- but yes you can definitely apply the same settings om your camera. Let me know how you go on your camera. I'd be interested to know. Thx again for checking out my video.

      @@AdventureTimMedia I wasn’t willing to buy a GoPro just because travel is not something I do so often (even if I want to.😉) and I just got new tech which was also costly. You’ll probably find out how the Akaso performs on another hike vlog if anything.😂

    Well, damn. I got myself a 2018 Go Pro Hero and more than half of these settings aren't even available to modify on it. I'm gonna work with what I have for the wild footage I have planned, but I appreciate the pointers

      @AdventureTimMedia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey psychosomniac5143, thanks for your comment. I've just had a look at the manual for your GoPro and you are right, there is very little there that resembles what I depict in the video. I did see that you have an auto low light setting that you can turn on that may be useful. I have included the PDF just incase you want to check out how to use this feature. I hope this helps. gopro.com/content/dam/help/hero-2018/HERO_UM_ENG_REVA.pdf

      Hey Rico! Thanks for your comment! I'm really excited to see what GoPro comes up with next and hopefully I will get my hands on Hero 11 a little later this year. Once that happens I will definitely put it through its paces! September can't come soon enough for me. lol. All the best to you and thanks for watching!

      Hey Stephen. Thanks for your great comment. I haven't filmed fireworks with my gopro yet- we only have fireworks about twice a year in Australia- but I've found a link that may be able to help. All the best. gopro.com/en/au/news/how-to-capture-fireworks-with-gopro

      Hey mate. I have the Hero 11 too. Try changing your white balance to 3200 K , maybe adjust the EV to +0.5 , and try 800 - or at the most 1600 - for your ISO. Any higher and you will probably get too much noise. Let me know how you go, mate .

    Night test: In your video you are 'walking' shooting using 24fps with other settings. What do you recommend to get sharper action videos at night? While riding I use HyperSmooth Boost using 2.7K 60fps Linear+HL, As you can see in my video is blurry .... th-cam.com/video/w3LDFbv8-ys/w-d-xo.html

    • @AdventureTimMedia
      @AdventureTimMedia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey moxnix! Thanks for your comment. I just checked out your video. I think having a lower frame rate - maybe 30fps might be a good idea. That way you are going to let more light into the sensor. Good choice for your lens btw. Recording at night with a GoPro definitely brings its challenges as the sensor is so small. It was good that you used the light but even with Hypersmooth you are going to get some kind of blur as the camera is always trying to correct the footage and limit the shakiness. Hope this helps. All the best.

    To be honest - go pro is really awfull if it comes to night shots. Maybe you should try without stabilization at all but with gimbal. It looks really bad be cause of EIS which can't manage to produce good quality in low light.

    • @AdventureTimMedia
      @AdventureTimMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey Pawet, Thanks for your comment. I actually think the gopro is pretty good when it comes to filming at night, especially when you consider it is not really made for night filming. It has a tiny sensor compared to DSLR and Mirrorless cameras which means that it's never going to produce the same level of quality in this setting as they can capture more light,, but still, with the right settings it does a pretty decent job. GoPro's excel in brightly lit environments and at night, the hypersmooth has a harder time seeking out the light it needs to maintain the optimal stabilization. Turning off hypersmooth and using a gimbal would definitely work, but then you have to carry extra equipment and you have the extra cost. GoPro's portability, shooting options and quality for a camera of its size are overall pretty amazing, and although low light filming is not it's strongest point, it has improved remarkably over the past few years and will no doubt continue to do so. Thanks for watchng and all the best to you,.
