  • In May 2016 I quit my job and lived on the road for 2 1/2 months.
    In total I did 6,700 miles, in 70 days, on a 2005 Honda Shadow and a 1980 Suzuki GS850.
    This is my first attempt at vloging my experience.

    Dude that crow landing on your bike was so cool! I totally believe animals can be messengers or spirits, or in this case a guardian watching over your trip.

    I had the exact same opinion of Yellowstone. I was happy that I got there early and had a good hour or two to enjoy before all the people showed up

      Ya I really wish I had gotten to be there either a lot earlier in the day, or just not at all. My second run through was a lot better coming from the Beartooth Highway and cutting across the top because there was less "attractions" smashed so closely together.

      I came in via the sawtooth it was beautiful but cold. And the rain after the summit didn't help. I'm glad it wasn't snow tho.

    I have been to Yellowstone twice. All I remember is crowds and traffic. Popular place.

    Enjoying. Stinks that someone stole your tripod. The crow. That was kewl. #unt ;;;

      Thanks Nick! Ya, one of the few times someone has ever stolen something off my bike, but it was also the only thing that was an easy grab, it was tucked in the cargo net on my duffel bag, everything else was packed away. I learned my lesson! lol Out of sight out of mind! Not many are willing to break into soft bags if they don't know what's inside, but if it's strapped to the outside, and they can see it, they will take it.

    Again with the thumbs-down?!? WTF?!? Two things: 1. The crow, super awesome:-) 2. So glad you stopped & got a hotel. Chills are a bad sign. It would have been dangerous to continue or sleep cold for another night. Good job!

    That bear was cute af to be fair! He was only tiny! Like an adorable, cuddly, murderous puppy.

      haha he was pretty little, Black Bears don't get very big in the Western US.

    Awesome and Good Job!
    I rode the western U.S. on my ZX12R 8 years in a row(sport touring.
    I was "blogging" on a web forum before there was such a word) and my first ride was Solo like yours and what an Epic Adventure!
    I was rollin when you said Yellowstone sucked lmao...It Does.
    I never did very good at the "Yellowstone test" train of cars, rubber neckin at anything that moves and goin like 20 mph.
    I admit I passed on occasion and met up with a Ranger once or twice for doin so.
    I enjoy your videos.
    Thanks😊

      That's awesome!! Ya Yellowstone was not my fave. Although the northern part of Yellowstone from beartooth to the Roosevelt arch was A LOT better. After that I expected Glacier to be just as bad but it really wasn't.
      Just a side effect of being the "first" National Park so it gets absolutely all of the tourists.
      Thank you so much!!

    im confuzzeled, thought i had been watching the pilgramage :p IT HAZNT STARTED YET!? also congradulations, you washed your hair in a sink, now you know you can do it ;)ghetto gas stations usually have small single restrooms, while usually the the dirtiest, you can lock the door and take a minute to clean yourself :)

      Rockabilly Rambler this was kind of the prequel to The Pilgrimage, my original plan for the Pilgrimage was to be just a big loop around Montana (my home state), on my first bike, with the rules, No Hotels, No freeways, no chain restaurants and no GPS to make it a little more challenging than just jumping on the freeway. Then I found out I was going to get to go to Motos in Moab and it just kind of got tacked on, but in order to stay on schedule and get to Montana in time, I couldn't really follow the rules I had set up about freeways and hotels, thus my comment about it not "officially" starting yet :P

    I meant to ask if you had a chance to ride over Beartooth Pass while you were in that area?
    Goes up over 11k between Red Lodge and Cody. Chief Joseph Highway is a blast as well with camp sites alone the way.

    • @AstheMagpieFlies
      @AstheMagpieFlies  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup I did :) that's a bit later in the series as I loop like 3/4 of Montana before I got back to Beartooth

    Was that a crow or a raven? Its size and the shape of the beak make me think the latter, but I’m not sure.

    I know this is an older video but I live near Bozeman if you ever need a place to stop again. I'd be happy to host you or offer help if you need it. We just got our motorcycle endorsements and are new riders.

    Going back in your videos.. so a VERY late comment. She was wrong about the crow, very wrong.
