Jaesa Willsaam as a true Neutral

  • As an experiment, I leveled a Sith Warrior while keeping her Light-side/Dark-side alignment dead-center at ZERO. In cases where I was forced to make a LS/DS choice, I would follow up with choices in the opposite direction. This is how the recruiting encounter with Jaesa Willsaam went at the end of Chapter 1 with an alignment score of ZERO and having made both LS and DS choices along the way.

      Well true neutral in this game usually shows the limits of the 3 options per dialog system.
      Either you pick it wrong - which most tend to do with what I have seen - in which case your character is just a nutcase. Schizophrenic behavior and the such.
      Or you pick it well enough to have the game acknowledge that your character has a way more complex and ulterior motive.

      Yes, there's definitely a sense of satisfaction when playing as a Sith--light or dark--and exposing hypocrisy in the Jedi Order. The Sith may use lies and deception as tools, but they are also fundamentally VERY honest about who and what they are.
      Playing it light brings that additional dramatic irony of "You might make a good Sith, but I'd make an even better Jedi." This is one of my favorite bits in the Sith Warrior story.

    Swaying Jaesa to the Dark Side without killing Nomen Karr actually makes her turn feel more organic IMHO, because it's really jarring how suddenly the sadistic personality materializes if you order her to kill her former Master.

    Shame there's no actual Neutral version of Jaesa as a companion, only the hardline Light-or-Dark side versions of her. I assume this resulted in Darkside Jaesa, considering the multiple references she makes to the Dark side and references to her "fall", and the fact that you didn't take that one Lightside option to tell her not to embrace the dark completely.

    • @dianiss9349
      @dianiss9349  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      As I stated elsewhere, yes, I got Dark Jaesa as a result of my selection at 5:23 (a place where the game FORCES you to make a LS/DS choice).

      @jarred110 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was able to get the dark side clothing while keeping her light. I think you could do light side choice then kill master kart. It’s complicated but doable because I managed it, but that was prior to 7.0 where true neutral could happen.

    I did the same thing, confronting Jaesa as a lawful neutral, although in my video (The Grey Sith Warrior), I edit it so that Jaesa uses her power on both my Sith and Karr, which gave the impression of Jaesa really being confused by the absences of black/white morality. When she uses her power on Karr, see loops back around into thinking it's all a trick, which leads me into the line "I only exposed what was lurking inside".

  • @MrEarlSwift

    what people dont realize is that while you may not be able to see in the dark, the light can blind you just as surely.
    this isint baby's-first morality conundrum, the whole good/evil=light/dark thing is misleading, and honestly kinda childish.

    • @dianiss9349
      @dianiss9349  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Well, the intention of the "experiment" was to see what would happen with the alignment score set to EXACTLY ZERO, which is why I open up the character window and hover over it at the beginning.
      That said, I expect that some of Jaesa's reaction dialog probably would change a little if I had, for instance, flipped those two choices around and arrived at an alignment score of zero that way instead.
      If the game had allowed me to never make a LS/DS choice along the way, that's what I would have done--but it didn't, so compromises had to be made.

    • @dianiss9349
      @dianiss9349  7 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      In this case, yes she did go Dark Side because of the dialog choice I made at 5:23. I could have just as easily selected the Light Side option there which would have caused her to be (stay?) a light-sider.
      This is a common misconception people have. Jaesa's DS/LS status is based on THAT DIALOG CHOICE. not your own alignment.

    • @Majitsu
      @Majitsu 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      the dark side options only show up if you are neutral or dark right? and I assume vice-versa for light

    • @dianiss9349
      @dianiss9349  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I'm 99% certain that the dialog options are always the same, regardless of your alignment at the time. It's just the responses that change. This was my 3rd Sith Warrior to finish Chapter 1 and I don't remember the key choices being different for LS/DS/Neutral.

    • @Sav-C-Bin
      @Sav-C-Bin 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Actually, they are not. If you're LS, Jaesa can't become dark. However, if you're DS, the dialog is the same as in the video - you can choose her allegiance.

In addition to playing out the Sith Warrior class story for an achievement, I made a Zabrak so I could unlock the race for future chars. As you can see, I wasn't especially creative on the name. :-)

    • @markdias5636
      @markdias5636 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know the level up/or down system. This event comes at around the end of Chapt 1. After a few planets. Story based npc keep their level you would be at around the end of the Chapt. The only way for her to remain level 12 is if you were supposed to be level 12 when you fight her....which is wrong.

    • @Raximus3000
      @Raximus3000 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mark Dias How else would you program it since the planet keeps you at that level create a zone that makes you level 35? That would be extra work for little purpose.

    • @markdias5636
      @markdias5636 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no "ZONE" level 35 only the mobs that deal with the story are level 35, if that is the story's level. No matter what level syncing you see having Jaesa a level 12 mob for the fight is an insult to the already laughable difficulty scale. For example, that would mean, the end boss in Chapt 3 for my Sorc would be Level 12 since the fight would take place on Korriban. Its not....the boss will be level 50 and my sorc would be down leveled to match.

    • @dianiss9349
      @dianiss9349  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This particular sequence takes place on Hutta (the Imperial origin planet for Agents and Bounty Hunters) and so everyone is level-synced down to L12, even though it's the end of Chapter 1. I agree--it's weird--but that's the reason.
