Sith Inquisitor goes with the Light Side because it opens them more possibilities for subtle manipulation and allows to make Republicans freak out like no tomorrow, allowing for even more manipulations - truly worthy of a Darth Imperius title. Sith Warrior sticks to the Sith Code first and foremost, which does not specify anything about the side.

      Juan Maidana you I had a lot of fun Rping the story out, my SW started off as a dark side character, however certain things about him kept him from being true evil douchebag, he was pragamatic, he wouldn’t needlessly kill his subordinates for failure or to impose his will, he had a sense of honor and had little interest in killing those who could not fight back, but as things progressed and he dealt more and more with the Jedi he become less sure of some aspects of his life, the Jedi willingness to sacrifice their lives for their cause confused him, when he found the Jedi agent on Balmorra and after beating her, when she offered no resistance to being executed and was at peace, it confounded him, and the biggest turning point for him was tattoine, the projection of himself but on the light side trying to redeem him, his curiousity of what Jaesa did that allowed her to bend the sand demon to her will and beat it without a weapon, all this cumulated into fighting the Jedi master in the dessert, when he beat him he gave him a moment to find peace in the force (as his sense of honor dictated) before being executed by my warrior, when the Jedi master tells the Sith you have a moment where you are standing over this defeated old man, with your lightsaber out, and this is when my SW begins to turn from the dark side, at this moment my SW can no longer find it in him to follow through and spares the old master, which when I played the SW it made me absolutely LOVE LS jaesa because in a sense jaesa saved my SW from being lost forever to the dark side

      @@theinquisitorisamage1653 oh yes it made a very interesting character because while he was a light leaning sith he had to take take precautions to protect him and jaesa, he did execute norman karr since baras would eventually find out if escaped, and he couldn't let him be captured because he knew baras would eventually have him reveal what he saw, stuff like that, he did good for his soldiers, if no one would ever find he would do LS choices (take Hoth for instance he spared the master and his student who were trapped in the glacier aallowing the master to teach his student how to subside entirely on the force becoming one with it while still living) but more public things he would have to keep the dark side facade on, like executing baraas (granted that wasn't really a facade he really wanted to do that) on belsavis after working with the jedi they left as enemies but his honor dictated that since the jedi assisted him in his goal he had to let him leave
      and of course one of the big thing is that he of course after the amazing act 1 and how jaesa affected his life he did wind up romancing her when they were reunited (he kept the alliance independent from the empire but he also knew that after defeating the republic the empire would never allow the alliance independence so he is siding with the republic with the hopes of being allowed to keep the alliance while allied to it out of the republic)

      It's sad that Jedi's storylines are far worse than Sith's, but I still think some choices wrongly give you points of side, when they should not. For example, on the quest on Balmorra to accept the Rebel Commander's propose of him tell out Republic's lies and the part on the start when you judge a traitor of the Sith, where let him rot in the jail till the next acolyte judge him is good while giving him his desire of trial of combat is bad

    True strength of the Sith is freedom. Freedom to choose, to act, to decide. Thus a light side sith is trurely free, as he chose a way instead of all that is decided. Count Dooku has failed to see it. A lot of other sith failed to see that. But that's what I see playing as a light side sith.

      The Dark Side is like a mix of meth and steroids. It gives you power, yet the more you use it, the more addicted to it you become. And when you are turned into a Dark Side addict, your chains will be reforged, as you turn into, basically, supernatural druggie.

    • @MikeHesk742
      @MikeHesk742 3 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      I think of a lot of the fandom still doesnt quite get that point, Sith is about freedom and power. If a lightside Sith were the most powerful, who could argue with those results? Instead you had fans asking why the troopers didnt fire on your character for talking about the lightside, the troopers dont care! They dont have a stake in lightside/darkside, they'd probably welcome a Sith showing up with basic sanity and stability.

      @@MikeHesk742 The thing is that the Sith Code talks about follow up the emotion. It's proved by psychology that is much easier to find and follow the negative emotions (fear, anger, wrath, sadness, hate) than the positive ones (compassion, hope, happiness, joy, love). Because of this, the great majority of the Sith follow up the Darker ways, while the Jedi, when they project themselves as the opposite of the Sith, follow up Lighter ways, as they supress more the negative emotions than the positive ones. The Jedi Code talks about supress the emotion, so technically, a TRUE Jedi would be the more next it could get of emotionless, that's why they find out how to supress while have such dark things on them, like Noman Karr.

    • @HanithSVK
      @HanithSVK 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CanetaErrante This.
      As you said, the sith channel their emotions, but it's totally up to them, which emotions. It may be hate, pride, greed etc. but it also can be love or compassion.
      Jedi code taught, that they have to be devoid of emotions, because "emotions leads to the dark side", they should be like a machines. But would a machine be a good "peace-keaper"? Imagine a situation, that one overly powerful empire wage war against small nation. Peace can be attached by 2 ways. Either weaker side give up and accept everything forced on them by winner OR they can defend themselves and most likely die.
      If Jedi were just an emotionless drones, they could came, force weaker into submission and peace is secured. Yes, it was by force, but technically it works. Technically they wouldn't even need to assist, because every war will eventually end. And without emotions, they would not care for lost lives.

    Light side Sith isn’t really that paradoxical. The Sith Code emphasizes taking power in order to bring about positive change. The usual problem is that the power consumes the Sith to where their original goals are never fulfilled. If one could maintain control, then the Code would be fulfilled in its intent.

    Some significant quotes from the clip above:
    * What have you done to him ?
    * Has this been inside him all along ?
    * I would have known if such darkness resided within him.
    * That is what the Jedi do: mask, pretend and hide.
    * Never presume anything
    * I don't know what to believe... there was supposed to be order in the galaxy.
    * I can't trust you. I can't trust anything
    At first glance it may seem a good thing to send the fallen Jedi master back to the Jedi Council for healing. The Sith is doing the Jedi a favor: even helping the "enemy".
    But examine the situation in depth and it suggests an opposite conclusion: it's a bad thing for the Jedi Council to receive back their fallen Jedi master. In fact it seems completely DEVIOUS in a subtle long-term way to damage the Jedi Order. On the surface a good / light-side facade is masking a deep core of dark-side malevolence: a cure that is worst than the disease causing or speeding up the rot from within.
    Issue #1: Personnel Involved: wounded personnel tie up support personnel in their care, and healing: their transport to a healing facility; the doctors, nurses and support personnel while they are recuperating; the hospital bed itself; the medical supplies used to nurse the wounded back to health; the time involved.
    Contrast that with a corpse: the transport of a corpse requires very little. A body bag / coffin along with refrigeration / stasis field while its being transported. At its destination: a burial ceremony. The Jedi Order will explain the death to fit into their "world-view / framework" as a valient matyr to the cause - "let's us all follow their example", "let's redouble our efforts to ensure their death was not in vain" will be the kind of comments at the funeral
    The previous paragraph applies to wounded soldiers. With a fallen Jedi master it's worse: additionally there is now a known dark-sider within the Jedi facility. Now security-personnel are allocated / tied up: Jedi temple guardians have to keep watch on the master in case they succumb further to the dark-side and try to attack Jedi around them.
    Issue #2: Time consumed at the expense of other matters.
    Having watched the various cut scenes of the Jedi council meetings: a lot of time is spent in discussion of various things. In the long term, a funeral takes up very little time after the burial is over. On the other hand a damaged Jedi master that has apparently fallen to the dark side will consume an inordinant amount of time at the expense of other issues. The Jedi order will have lost clarity.
    Issue #3: The deeper existential issue: how did this Jedi master fall ? Reviewing the above quotes, Jaesa Willsaam comments, as she works through the situation, is a microcosm of the reaction of the Jedi Council members. They will initially think it's a Sith trick / technique that did this damage. The horrible realization will creep up on them: no dark-side technique did this; this darkness was there all along; and that darkness was masked / hidden.
    This leads to other questions: Can this same thing happen to padawans, knights, master, and Jedi council members ? How many others in the Jedi order are masking darkness ?
    This leads to now everything is being questioned: the entire membership and ranks of the Jedi order has to deal with this existential crisis. Some may decide to leave the order all together.
    The firm bedrock of their beliefs suddenly become uncertain all presumptions are thrown out.
    DELIGHTFULLY DEVIOUS

      A lot of them are in swtor actually.
      Revan: He realized that both the Sith and Jedi codes created boundaries where none needed to exist and became a master of both light and dark "Let me show you the power of the force in balance". As a reformed Jedi he argued that love was a strength not a weakness.
      Kreia: Renown for her philosophical outlooks on the force saw that both Sith and Jedi were fools, arguing that the force was not split by colored dichotomies. She understood that light was just as needed as Darkness, she even predicted the fall of Vader and Palpatine.
      Volkorion: Literally wants you to stop seeing the force as simply light or dark, but beyond. He says he's transcended the need to see the force as opposite forces competing.
      Kel'eth Ur: He defies the Sith Code to become kinder, "It's a lie. Fear is a lie. Passion, a lie. Fears gives only temporary powers, and passion is easily manipulated. Real strength in the Force comes when one is no longer afraid."
      Luke Skywalker: After the dissolution of the Jedi Order, Luke created a reformed order in line with emotions. Seeing that love was not a weakness, but a driving force which helped him fight the Emperor. In his brief tenure as a Sith, he reinvented the Sith Lightning to be usable to both the light side and dark side.

      +Zed Zamorin As far as canon goes, this was all disowned by Disney, so we may never see any good-guy Dark Side players (or good-guy Siths, etc). Personally I'm fascinated by the idea of a Dark Side Force user following the Sith mantra while not becoming lost in the event horizon of the Dark Side where one is enthralled by acts of cruelty and evil thoughts, and killing because it's fun. The basis for this being the very beginning: "Peace is a lie. There is only Passion."

    • @jonbartolo8067
      @jonbartolo8067 8 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      RorytheRomulan
      I agree, I like the idea of a Dark Side Good.
      The light side represents the compassion and tranquility of all beings of the galaxy, the dark side focuses on individual passion and strength. While the light side is about maintaining the status quo, the dark side is about change and evolution.
      The dark side feeds off of the person's passions, but the Sith emphasize on the most despicable ones, fear, hatred, etc. Merely because these emotions surface better. I mean, it's easy to be angry.
      For instance Love is a passion, but it is considered the noblest of all. Love, is an idea that may seem so contrary to the Sith, it is still a passion fueled by the dark side.
      The Jedi were wrong. The dark side don't corrupt the Sith. It is the Sith that corrupt the dark side.
      The Jedi are notorious for forgoing their emotions, but by the same token the Sith are equally as guilty of this.
      Though they are still freer then the Jedi, they are still constrained. For example, they purposely do not allow themselves to feel for their apprentices, save only the superficial. They are further limiting themselves from feeling other passions like compassion, mercy, etc.
      Not until they accept this, and the force on a holistic basis... both light and dark, will their chains be broken, only then will the force set them free.
      Seriously, it's in the Light Side Inquisitor Ending. The Inquisitor was free from Jedi dogma, and forgoes Sith teaching.
      The Dark Lord's Spirits didn't find the freedom they were promised, but the light side inquisitor did.

      There is no official Grey Jedi code but this is the best and most popular fan made one: Flowing through all, there is balance
      There is no peace without a passion to create
      There is no passion without peace to guide
      Knowledge fades without the strength to act

    wonder where the dude got that outfit and if it's up-gradable. Looking to try a new set for my Sith Jugg and that set looks nice. Its like Jedi Guardian set. so i's either from Light-side store or quest.

    So, what about the sith soilders in the room who literally just heard you confess to being a light side user? Dose that ever get addressed? Like are they your guys so they know what's up or is it just glost over?

    • @caav56

      Given, that this guy treats them fairly and nice, I don't think they'd expose him, in case they get transferred to someone much worse. Besides, he has just turned a powerful Force user towards the cause of the Empire and has exposed one of the Jedi as a Dark Side user, which will surely cause some chaos in the Jedi Order. Apparently, they've decided, that, as long as it works, it goes.

      The soldiers probably just assume it's all part of some elaborate 5D Sith chess game. Which it kind of is, but they would never question the the actual motives, and what would they even be able to do? report the Sith to their superiors, in which case the Sith would just say it was all a ruse to manipulate the Jedi into defecting.

      You have to appreciate that for the majority of people living in the Empire this is a political war for territory between 2 large powers, and not a religious war trying to convert everyone to the darkside. I highly doubt the majority of the these troopers know or care much about the darkside, they just want the Empire to win this war. A powerful Sith Lord that helps them without having a breakdown and murdering them? Probably a welcome sight.

    Well this method is damn dangerous. Even if the troopers keep shut mouth someone from the jedi order might not, or simply someone see master Karr and tell the siths.

    looking at the story of the sith warrior I can see this working for Darth Vader, for one despite his hatred for the Jedi: Jaesa's parents and Master Yan Locke would pose no threat to him. as for the knights only one of them would be foolish enough to engage Vader in combat (he's got quite the history of killing Jedi in his time). and as for Master Karr, well that's on him. Not sure about Jaesa Willsaam herself but a likely ally.

    I don't even see my sw as a light sith, just an honourable warrior, pragmatic and extremely loyal to the empire but not a mindless puppet and definitely not adverse to doing whatever is necessary to get what she wants.
    Somehow she still turned out light by the time I got to Jaesa despite sparing Yonlach and killing her parents (only after the Jedi guy tried to stop her when the parents agreed to join the Empire).
    I enjoyed the dialogue in this scene, especially the option where my warrior says that she is chaos and she acts on her whims, which is basically how I see a sw. I.e., Arrogant and self aware, but not pointlessly cruel and sadistic.
    Picking all ds options for sw just because they're ds feels really stupid imo.

      @@Ghostx357 Exactly. He does enjoy killing but he places the needs of the Empire above his own. And since my guy became a Revanite on Dromund Kaas, he'll spare the few Jedi who actually act like proper Jedi. He's even spared some republic troopers. A quick way to get dead is to be rude or insinuate in any way you're stronger than him. lol
