Just bought the X-LINE Prestige version of this in gravity grey five days ago. It's only been days but I love this car so much right now. For whatever reason, the one I bought had been on the lot for 65 days. I got it for $1800 under MSRP plus all the goofy dealer add ons. I bought from KIA of Carson in So Cal. There were at least 30 of these in X-LINE Prestige within a 30-mile radius of me. One of the few times living in LA was beneficial.
I just got new niro hev. top trim. It's so awesome!!! I have the cityscape green color. Would you make a vid with washing advice in the future ? The paint is very smooth, it's unique. I always had cars with metallic pint
Yes, If it’s very cold out and you just started your car, it’ll likely kick on the engine to help warm up the vehicle. This greatly helps your range though, if it was relying on straight electricity in the cold, your range would be depleted quite quickly.
I have this car. The only gripe I have is that the SX doesn't have wireless Android Auto. My sister's base model Soul has wireless, as does my cousin's Tuscon PHEV. KIA needs to fix this crap.
When I enquired for Outlander PHEV, they were super efficient with their deliveries of PHEV. Is there any specific reason why you guys have unrealistic delivery or supplying issues?
Feel bad for our Neighbors to the north on lack of availability. They are not easy to find in the USA, but you won’t wait 2 years. I had to get one in another state, but without wait. In USA they only come in X-line. Canadian base model seems better equipped than US. Very happy with the vehicle. It’s main competition is the RAV4 prime, which is also hard to find. However, the Prime4 is approximately $8-10K more expensive.
Hi Dave hear from the U.K. why is it you only have mat black plastic trimes round the wheels and on the door trims we have black shiny plastic here in the U.K.
I'm a UK PHEV Sportage owner 1 month old. Can you tell me how to set the regen brake level . I assumed that it was the paddles and I've been doing that. Mt previous car a mitsubishi outlander used the paddles ... Thanks great videos. I wish I'd found them before I bought mine so that I could have had some training
Very true! The engine will have to turn on to help the vehicle warm up for a bit. Full EV’s experience quite a drop in range in cold temperatures so it’s understandable, However it’ll still consume much less than a regular ICE vehicle.
You missed my question on the "live"..... does the heater work in the PHEV when you are in "electric only" mode? Or do you have you run the engine the warm it up?
It does for the most part if you’re facing very cold conditions and you just started your car after It’s been sitting for a while. It’ll more than likely turn over the engine to help bring things up to optimal temperatures, almost all PHEV’s do this.
Anyone else having issues with their sportage where the "since refuling" resets on its own randomly? It keeps happening to my 2023 ex premium, and the dealer can't figure it out 😖
@chriswigan7124 This happened randomly. The first time it happened was at 60km after filling up, and then it's after 20, 10, 40...lol nothing in the settings to to not have it reset.
For air conditioning it’s not as common. However, it is worth noting that all plug-in hybrid’s will engage the ICE engine when the vehicle deems necessary. Just because the engine turns on does not mean the vehicle is no longer efficient. The fuel loss from the engine engaging to help warm up/cool down your vehicle is by no means drastic,& once the vehicle reaches an optimal operating temperature, It’s smooth EV sailing from there!
Truthfully, it’s been tough for wait times for all manufacturers. The wait time for the Sportage PHEV is roughly 2 years - so about half the wait of Toyota, but still a considerable amount of time to wait for a vehicle.
I am wondering what these plug-in hybrids and electric cars have to ensure forgetful people like me won't jump into the car and drive away with it plugged into a charger? After 40 years of driving and not having to think of such a thing and the curious choice to put it on the passenger side, I could 100% see myself doing that unless there is a fool-proof deterant. While I'm at it, do you know why they have it on the passenger side. The gas is less of a concern as you are driving to a gas station. But if you have a normal garage where you have to have your car near the wall on the passenger side to even get out of the car, it will be a headache to charge it. I know that in other markets with right hand drive this makes sense. An easy solution is to put it in the back like the ev6. Love this car but have to pass on it do to this one fact.
If I ever dared to set foot in the authocratic state of canadeur, I would immediately travel to the Rolls Royce hostesses of Kia. A little of the bubbly, a pinch of caviar and down to the club with Edina and Patsy.
Charlotte...Woah, your killing it in that outfit.

Charlotte dressed is beautiful today
I loved how she utilize the white piece of accessory in her outfit.

Nice work ladies! You obviously know your products
In the US and I have the 2023 Kia Sportage PHEV X-Line, Matte Gray version. Averaging 76 MPG and loving it!
From what I remember the engine kicks in as soon as you try to use heating. In this case, it's impossible to avoid using gas in winter.

The Niro PHEV has a PTC heater and can truly run electric in winter, but the Sportage doesn't. Hopefully this gets rectified in future models
Heat pump like the one in EV6 can help
Charlotte nice outfits keep it up.
does the 2025 model PHEV have a heads up display?
Hello, maybe you guys know, how come the Canadian phev has heated rear seats and dual fog lamps, but the USA version does not?
I have this car. The only gripe I have is that the SX doesn't have wireless Android Auto. My sister's base model Soul has wireless, as does my cousin's Tuscon PHEV. KIA needs to fix this crap.
What is the reason why in canada only have single trim level in PHEV kia niro 2024 ?
When I enquired for Outlander PHEV, they were super efficient with their deliveries of PHEV. Is there any specific reason why you guys have unrealistic delivery or supplying issues?
wondering thoughts/opinions on possibly having to use a small heavy gauge extension cord.....

What color was the car tho

Even the smaller Selto offer HUD. Why it is not offered in Sportage?
Any info when 2025 Sportage would be revealed, released?
I have the sister car - the Tucson PHEV - love it BUT you can’t really get it to run on just the battery for short commutes in the cold!
Very true! The engine will have to turn on to help the vehicle warm up for a bit. Full EV’s experience quite a drop in range in cold temperatures so it’s understandable, However it’ll still consume much less than a regular ICE vehicle.
It can if you don't turn on the cabin heat 🤭

how come no allocations in Canada? Can you charge with a house hold plug?
Yep
I like your review and want to buy one where can I buy it dealers close to my location do not have one
We're located in Brantford, ON!
Anyone else having issues with their sportage where the "since refuling" resets on its own randomly? It keeps happening to my 2023 ex premium, and the dealer can't figure it out 😖
Hey there.. i know in my Niro it's a setting you can change through your dashboard settings.
@chriswigan7124 This happened randomly. The first time it happened was at 60km after filling up, and then it's after 20, 10, 40...lol nothing in the settings to to not have it reset.
Will the engine turn on for air conditioning as well as heater? Then not too many occasions we can use pure EV mode.
For air conditioning it’s not as common. However, it is worth noting that all plug-in hybrid’s will engage the ICE engine when the vehicle deems necessary. Just because the engine turns on does not mean the vehicle is no longer efficient. May I ask if Sportage PHEV run on regular gasoline? Thanks.
Yes it does! You do not need premium fuel - just regular unleaded!
My local Kia dealer said they've had 4 PHEVs come through in the last 2 years, truly unobtainable cars which is too bad!
It is!
Will wireless Apple CarPlay coming to Sportage in 2025?
The 2025 refresh will more than likely feature Kia and Hyundai’s new CCNC software, which would indicate that yes, it should have wireless CarPlay!
One of the few things this car doesn't have. I just bought a 12" plug from Amazon with both ends being a 90 degree plug and it works fantastic.
Front end need to be changed and option for heat pump
Does car come with a spare tire
Hi, Great question. The PHEV Sportage does not come with a spare
Question...Is it going to be the same fiasco as the Sorento PHEV? - 3-4 year wait time?
Truthfully, it’s been tough for wait times for all manufacturers. The wait time for the Sportage PHEV is roughly 2 years - so about half the wait of Toyota, but still a considerable amount of time to wait for a vehicle.
Where are the spare tire?
No spare tires in the Sportage PHEV
they are talking about cars right?
how long is the charge cord please?
The level 1 charger it comes with is in the 15-18 foot range. Not great but works fine as long as you can get close to an outlet.
Today is my 85thbirthday. I really want a Sportage PHEV but can’t afford it. Mydadand uncle broke my 6th birthday electric train too. Woah is me.
Or woe is me.
I’m in Canada. Been waiting since Oct 2022. Will NOT receive it by Oct 2024 so longer than 2 years.
When does the 2025 model come out?
I’ve been waiting about 10 months for a HEV. Isn’t the PHEV about $5k more? I can buy a lot of gas for $5k
But the government gives $5k rebate for the PHEV. So it's a wash.
Lv u both feom iraq ❤❤
20:17 "Huge sunroof.... Eh?". Canadian roots confirmed.
I just love hanging out at the back with the back door open during spring or summer.
With that 2 years' wait, do you get a 2024 car in 2026 or a 2026 in 2026?
You would get the model year they are producing at time of arrival (2026 in 2026)

Both you women look fantastic
The 2025 Sportage looks like the 2024. I thought there was supposed to be a facelift in 2025?
Nope! The Sportage underwent a full redesign in 2023. However, the Sorento PHEV did receive the facelift for 2025 :)
Friendly advice from a Sportage 2023 owner-- The car doesn't like Costco gas. 😆
There are at least 20 of these on lots within 20------100 miles of Me Today....5/2/24.......Paul
Put a burqa on this girl!! She's too distracting! I'm here for the car!
Gabi looks like haleyybaylee 😮
