    Fantastic! I got a new 462cm last month. West Coast Saws complete kit on it. Bark Box, UNI Air Filter kit, fellers' suspension, and Dogs. I'm just a landowner of with 30 ac of hills full of primarily hardwoods in northern Michigan. I'm no pro but not messin around either. This is inspiring to say the least!

    Awesome stuff man, I just got a base gasket deleted, ported, and polished 462. 462 is an awesome saw for sure. New subscriber, keep up the good work man!

      Thank you Joe! It’s always an honor to tip the big ones, they’re getting fewer and farther between. Love your videos btw bub!!

    do you bore cut most of these? Seams like I LOVE the traditional face with a bore cut. To me I love the control it gives you. Im not much of a Humboldt guy.

      I bore cut most of my log trees(less likely to peel or split a nice butt log, they are often bigger as well and requires cutting from both sides). And of course back leaners or heavy front leaners. It also often gives you more time to get away from the stump(if the situation requires). I cut mostly conventional because of the lower stump height. Makes it easier for the Skidder to drive over and less hang ups when winching in trees.

    Cool video thanks for posting. Nice to see a logging video from my neck of the woods. What part of Maine?

    I thought I had some nice big pines on my property. Then I watched your videos. Good job Dylan. Be safe. Will there be any pine regeneration in those woods after logging or will the hardwoods out compete them? I have a section of predominantly pine that I want to regrow in pine but, the foresters have said the maples birch and beech will out compete if we just do a thinning.

      Thank you! My guess is there will be some pine regen along with some smaller ones that were left but the majority will be hardwoods, with some pine mixed throughout. Which is actually what this particular property was to begin with. There were a few areas of predominantly pine that probably won’t grow back the same(more hardwood mixed in).

      We are cutting just as much hardwood as pine as we go, I just don’t film it as much. (Not as big and exciting as the pine) 😜

    I have a 462 and have considered the bark box. Does it make any difference other than sound? I have a 290 with a custom muffler and that thing seems to really rip.

      Yes I believe it adds power and I prefer it over stock. They are definitely loud. Another thing to remember is a drop in cylinder head temp with a more free flowing exhaust is going to make the saw last longer. The 462 is weak on low end torque in my opinion, not much can be done about it.

      Good to know! I love the 462 but I do agree it lacks some low end torque. Was hoping the exhaust might help just a bit with that.

    Hello what size bars you run on 462cm I got one as well just wondering

    • @dylanguay
      @dylanguay  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      25” light bar here. Good balance. 20” regular bar is great as well and much cheaper. 28” is the max I would go.

    great cutting i just wish youd get a bit more distance from the stump when they fall lol. im bad at it to so i cant say much but i get shit for it too so just passing it along lol. stay safe out there brotha and keep ur head up.

    • @dylanguay
      @dylanguay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! Appreciate it man. Reading the lay and what it’s going to do after contact(and watching hangers/dead stubs) is just as important as how you cut it. At this point I step, move, and even run by what my gut and head says. The absolute safest way is to get away EVERY time though.

      @@dylanguay yeah it deffinatly depends on the situation and what else is around. its crazy how that one spot is like a magnet to everything that lets go though. you look like you know what your doing for sure though and i figured you knew that i just like to remind ppl somtimes lol

      @@swere1240 right on man! I really do appreciate it. We all get complacent and comfortable after time and it’s good to think about it.
