To get to the air Filter on a VW Bug 2014 2.5L (and adjacent years) you have to remove the entire engine cover. Then turn the engine cover upsdide down. You will see 5 screwes on the underside of the engine cover holding a plastic lid over the air filter. Not obvious, but it is long and rectangulalr. Easy to replace
