iPhone 16 Pro - Apple, DON'T DO THIS!

- We have heard a lot of rumors about the iPhone 16 Pro max this year, and one of those rumors is that the iPhone 16 Pro Max is going to get even bigger, and I didn't realize it until I saw photos of the device, but this may be just a step too far for my beloved Pro max model.
He's gonna end up purchasing an iPhone 16 Pro Max/Ultra and then make a video after "DON'T BE FOOLED"
Exactly.
iPhone 16 Pro Max - I WAS WRONG
that's the usual thing they do
myb he purchase it cause he's a reviewer? lol
😂
A “mini pro” would be my dream iPhone
Yes .. don't make these iPad minis .. we don't need mega screens ..
Mine too! I looove my iPhone 13 mini and will hold on to it for one more year now, hoping the mini Pro will come! 🤞
If not, I guess I will upgrade to a 17 Pro but I HATE that gigantic form factor!! Those paddles are just a pain in the @$$!!!
I still use the iphone 12 mini. Love small phones, but big phones are great on the eyes when reading text and watching movies.
@@tayjones8552 For that I own an iPad mini! ☺️
I'm getting sick of my iPhone 13 because of the notch and non pro features, I really want a iPhone pro mini as well. I don't like large phones, it's inconvenient.
Bro I absolutely love big screens. If you don’t like it just buy the smaller non max iPhone 16. At this point you are just nit picking.
That would be the case if they made the models equal, but they don’t, they add exclusive features to the max, like the 5x zoom last year.
He’s just a bullshiiiierrrrr he just needed to make another video for content. He’s excited for the new 6.9, and will there on day 1 ordering it.
@@Theinspirationalrogue then why wouldn’t he make a video being excited
@@Zaidoesstuff that’s the video he makes once he has the product 😂
A lot of TH-camrs are like this, that’s why I prefer the ones who don’t sugarcoat
@@Theinspirationalrogue I can already see the “I WAS FOOLED!”
It’s okay breathe 🧘 just don’t get the phone 📱 this year I promise you won’t die 😂😂😂
The problem is, usually size changes only go in one direction: bigger. So at some point if he wants a new phone, these are the sizes he has to choose from.
🐑
@@dexopaw If only there were other brands to choose from.
@@hayabusa09 No other brands that make iOS phones unfortunately
@@dexopaw educate him bruh
This guy should quit squawking; he’s going to preorder the large model as soon as it’s available.
True that haha
Greg will pre-order BOTH Pros, then make several comparison videos while "deciding" which one to keep, THEN will eventually say that the battery life on the Max is just too good to give up and reluctantly keep the huge Max rather than spending 30-60 minutes with a magsafe battery pack attached to the better-sized 6.3 inch Pro during lunch or dinner to accommodate his super-power use days. (Love ya, Greg😉)
Thats sort of the point of his video. He doesnt want to but feels obligated to because of the features the bigger model offers
As an iPhone 13 Mini user i really hate the way the screen size is going. I want my phone to fit nicely into a normal pocket.
But the way thing are going we are soon going to have to use a bag for the phone.
I also have a Samsung Galaxy S24 and it feels too big for me.
Same . Used to have s10e, now iPhone 13 mini. I like small form factor 😊
Stop wearing women’s jeans and it will fit
@@Patty100ish 🤣 Well if modern phones are starting to be as big as my first phone the Nokia 102 no pocket is big enough. Back in the 90's we used big belt cases for our phones. And soon we have to start doing the same thing again. I dont need a huge screen on my phone. If i want bigger screen ill use a tablet or a laptop when im traveling.
Apple needs to focus on battery life this year! 13 pro max was the last phone I’ve seen with a decent battery
I agree, I’m still using it and it works great, but I’m starting to feel the slowness. I think it’s got one more year. Might reach 80% battery health by end of this year.
13 pro max user here maximum battery life at 85% and fast charging is amazing but the phone itself is starting to become laggy.
The 15 pro max is kind of the same as the 13 pro max . Performance & battery life 🔋
@@chrisanderson9359 so why pay to upgrade if it’s the same?
@@appleztooranges you upgrade out into an Android or you upgrade till next level if your phone dies, can’t stand the occasional lag, u need usbc, and if wwdc comes out with something amazing for usbc iPhones like an upgraded stage manager
Hey Apple how about instead of big get a little be thicker instead to make room for more battery. Thicker be easier to grip, make that big camera bump look a little smaller and as I said room for more battery. Don't keep making iPhone bigger so it turns into a iPad Mini with a phone.
I actually hope they don’t make it any thicker, they’ve been on a trend of making them a tad bit thicker each year and now it’s to the point were it’s an uncomfortable bulge in my pocket. iPhone 7 was the best feeling in the pocket, but yeah battery wasn’t the best
so should i wait for iphone 17 release or should i go for the iphone 16????
i am not a type of guy who changes phone frequently
I’m 100% with you on this one Greg. I want to upgrade my old phone but I don’t want this giant phone but still want the bigger battery and features. So this really sucks
I have a 13 mini and like it a lot, but if they add pencil support to the big 16, I’d consider getting that as a mini iPad Mini. I have a little purse that it could live in all of the time which is probably what people should be doing anyway with these extremely fragile, expensive, and capable computers.
It's one of those Apple hold back things. They could if they wanted, but they likely won't ever give any iPhone pencil support so that you have to buy an iPad too if you want a pencil. Samsung offers pencil on the Ultra because THEY have to try to "out-feature" Apple to compete on their priciest phone, not the other way around.
I hate the larger size, always prefer the smaller pro model.
Fun fact, we have been seeing 20% bezel reductions year on year for 5 years now. last year's 14 pro will actually be slightly wider than the 16 Pro bc the 15 Pro is about 1mm narrower than both. we're simply going back to the dimensions of the 14 pro, but with yet another bezel reduction on top.
to be more specific, 11 series thru 14 are 71.4mm width and 16 Pro will be 71.4mm as well. the 15 Pro is unique in that it was 70.6mm.
I've slowly adjusted to the larger screens, but I think its getting out of hand 🤣... I'm sticking with the smaller one and wishing they'd include the better camera.
The smaller model does everything I could ever need and it fits exactly where I want it to fit ! so I'm happy that less is more !
Whilst a bigger screen and an extended battery cycle could be useful to some people who are using their phones to record and stream long videos, edit photos on the go etc... my only interest in the larger model would be mainly larger memory and hard drive size... but then the phone would be far too clumbersome at almost 7 inches and more like a tablet PC ! so the smaller phone wins.
Great video. I agree with you about these new phones being “too big”. The problem I have is SOMETIMES Apple will put exclusive features in the largest device as you said. It’s not just the inherent advantages of larger display and battery that accompany a larger size but better features and technology differences even between the same tiers.
BRING MINI PHONE BACK 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Never gonna happen.
@@davidjacobs6244 you're probably right but let him have hope
I will hold on to my iPhone 13 mini till it dies. Perfect size
@@AlexanderGeorge Thanks for telling us 🙄
My 12 mini going strong, won't be upgrading to a bigger one.
11 Pro was my favourite size. On a 15 Pro, and was going to upgrade, but I’ll struggle if it’s even bigger. I’m a runner and cyclist, so carrying a lump of a phone is a pain. If I need a bigger screen I’ll use an iPad.
every Pro phone since the 11 is the exact same width except for the 15. and the 16 pro will be the same width as the 11-14.
Yup, you’re correct. I went for the 11P to the 15P. It’s the height and thickness that’s the main constriction to me
Skipped the others due to weight
@louis_sharp yeah but height thickness and weight dont really impact the feel in the hand at all. Its really just the width that determines how easy it is for your fingers to wrap around it.
Will the iPhone 16 Pro sold in Canada retain the SIM card slot?
If hypothetically the battery was identical in both, which would you choose then Greg?
I have an iPhone 15 Pro and I wouldn’t buy a phone any bigger.
I hope they bring back the mini! 🥺
With the protective case on, my 14 Pro Max is ridiculous Greg. I can't fit it in any pocket. Like you, I'm going with the smaller model if they make the Max any larger.
Fair points. Even with a slim case, it won’t pass my front pocket test, coming from a XS Max.
I only tested the pro max phones at an Apple Store, and even a staff allowed me to try the pro max how it feels in my pocket or if I hold it in my hand while walking around. And, I wasn’t a fan honestly
It’s one of those things what’s more important to you? A better battery / camera, or lighter and easier portability?
There’s no right or wrong answer here, everyone has their own preferences. But to me, portability is just too important
If they make the phones bigger, they'll have to bring back the iPhone mini, because 6.3 base model would already be too big for many people.
The mini won’t be coming back anytime soon.
@@davidjacobs6244 Then I wonder how people who don't like big phones will accept the fact that apple doesn't make anything but big phones anymore. For me, the current Pro model is at the limit of the size of what I'm willing to carry. I wouldn't buy any bigger than that.
Looks like the regular iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will stay at 6.1 and 6.7 respectively. So there will be 6.1, 6.3, 6.7 & 6.9 inches to choose from. But I also wish there would be a Mini (5.5ish) option. I think the biggest reason the Mini didn't sell very well was because there wasn't enough of a $ savings to go with the smaller dimensions. Apple is all about making us say to ourselves "Well, for only $100 more, AND $100 more, and $100 MORE I can get (fill in the blank) upgrades." Apple should just change their name to FOMO already.
@@garrickmusic But why should the smaller model be cheaper? If they made a small model with all the pro features, I would have no problem paying even higher price. And it would make sense, because from an enegeering perspective it is harder to make a small phone and get all the features features into it. Buying a smaller phone because you want to save money makes no sense.
@JaroAtry I didn't mean a pro model mini, just a base model. And I understand that you and a select group of people would pay a premium for smaller. But most people, when picking out an iPhone, look at how much physical product they are getting for their dollar. Before phones had video screens, people happily paid more for smaller. But now, most will not. If they are taking a smaller screen, they want more savings, they don't think about engineering or manufacturing costs. It's a mental block thing, and Apple knows it now, more than ever. There needed to be at least $200 difference between the Mini and the base model for more people to buy the Mini instead of going up in size. Not enough people value pocketability and one-hand use as their top two features, at least, not yet.🤷♂️
Greg,
Always love to see your content. I have precisely the same concerns. I'm on a 14 Pro Max, and would like the lighter titanium.
However, to maintain my "every other model" upgrade path, I just can't see getting an even LARGER phone now that I'm due for the 16 Pro 🤦🏽♂️.
I'd be willing to trade battery life for size. I always carry a MagSafe10k MA battery.
Rarely am I worried about lack of power for a full day. We'll see what they bring us.
Keep up the great vids!
I am on 13 mini and I love the size, it fits nicely in my small purse :-). Please bring mini 16 back please !!!
Same, fits so well in my pocket. Best phone
me too, it's just perfect!
I also love my 13 mini! And the battery in this one didn’t even suck like the one in the 12 mini!
I still dream of a 17 mini Pro with a stacked battery that will be great! 🎉
I’m with you about screen size. The only reason I picked up the 15 Pro Max was because of the camera features. If the only difference between the 16 Pro & Pro Max is battery life I’ll be getting the smaller phone. As for the rumored 17 slim/ultra/whatever…I’ll have to wait and see. If it’s all that and a bag of chips then yes, I’ll deplete my bank account for it.
I'm in the small phone camp, currently using an iPhone 12 mini. But I do intend on upgrading come September :( Also I appreciate your respect for commenters to complain. I find it bizarre when content creators get frustrated about that.
If I ever upgraded from my 13 mini, I guess I’ll just have to fall back on a 15 pro. I can tolerate a 6.1” display phone, it’s even smaller in size compared to the 14 pro. But the 16 pro is out of my hands.
I just hope we get a screen that finally has some anti glare and more scratch resistant. Apple care doesn’t take care of scratches
You would need a screen made out of Sapphire to be scratch resistant
My last upgrade was from a 6S Plus to a 14. Obviously not in any hurry to upgrade...
I'm still on an iPhone 8 because every year I would hem & haw on which model to get and then put if off for another year. A few months ago I bought a used Samsung 20+ for $140 to use around the house on Wi-Fi for most things other than calls and texts (Can't give up the blue bubbles... lol) to get me through until the 16 comes out. THEN I will treat myself to the smaller 16 Pro and upgrade my Series 4 Apple Watch to the Apple Watch X all at once. I'm gonna do it THIS year, I swear it! HAHA
When those rumors were first coming out I wasn’t really too worried; they just worked hard engineering wise to make the pro phones actually smaller.
But it’s kept up in the rumors and now these models. Of course, people adapt the to these sizes
Agreed. What was great about the 15 Pro Max was that, at least width wise, it was slimmer than the 14Pro Max. That, plus the better camera, made me get the Pro Max.
Totally agreed with you. Not upgrading my iPhone pro if the pro is bigger. They should go the opposite way, making them smaller
6.9 is awesome!
I'd be less concerned about an increase in the size of the phone rather than the weight. I have a 15 Pro Max and also a Galaxy S24 Plus. They have a nearly identical footprint but the S24 Plus is so much lighter that it feels more pocketable and easier to use for longer stretches. If Apple can get the 6.9" screen without making the phone heavier, I'd be just fine with that, especially if it means even more battery life.
Finally I won't need a measuring Tape. The 6.9 inch iPhone will be the perfect measuring tool.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😮😮😮😮😮😊😊😊😊
It looks like they are keeping the same width but adding more height. I'm not sure if the exact dimensions have leaked yet
I have the 15 Pro Max and love the size. I’m totally fine with an extra .2 inches of screen size bring it on! Shoot at some point this phone might end up being the iPad mini Pro many of us want and Apple won’t give to us! 😅
People said they wanted a smaller iPhone. Apple made the mini models and no one bought them.
I’ve just gotten used to the size with one hand without dropping it. The 16PM better be astronomically better otherwise I’ll stick to what I have.
“Separate photo diodes from pixel transistors…I don’t know what that means.” Dude you are all of us. At this point they are just making things up to get us to buy it.
I love big screen. Super luxurious ya bast'd
I wanted a 15 pro for its even smaller frame size, but can’t justify it coming from a 14 Pro. I wish the 16 Pro with even smaller bezels had the 6.1” screen. I hope regular model stays 6.1” and gets the smaller bezels eventually.
I recently upgraded from the 12 pro max to the 15 pro max. I really like it. I like the larger size being that I'm a blind old bat and it can see stuff better. Also, the battery does last a very long time.
Do you think it is worth waiting for 16. Pro max if I’m moving from 11 pro max ? It’s only few more months but I just want a new phone 🤣
There are so many phones already on the market that have a bigger screen than the iPhone pro max and do just fine in sales. If the screen is getting too big for you, then I suggest moving down in size on the iPhone lineup. Simple as that. For someone like me who does have large hands, the larger size is a welcomed feature for me. But even for people who don’t have large hands, I’m sure this phone is still going to sell very well. Plus, it’ll be able to display ultra widescreen videos more accurately since it seems it is just getting taller and not necessarily wider in the hand.
Greg, I hear everything you have said. I agree in probably most of what you said. I am still either iPhone 14 Pro Max. I am thinking about waiting until the 16 pro max arrives. After your video, maybe I will wait until the 17 pro max. There was a time that leaks and rumors were really a thing. Nowadays it causes more of a chess match. I almost switched to Android this year because as much as I like my iPhone, I am sort of bored with it. Each year makes wonder is it worth me to upgrade to the newest model or not.
15 pro is such a nice size feels great in the hand with the lighter titanium build
How much time can you spend saying the iPhone 16 is going to be a little bigger than the iPhone 15?
I still use an iPhone 12 Pro. By and large I’ve enjoyed it - with a few exceptions…
* So so battery life
* When the weather turns warm, the iPhone easily overheats - especially in my car.
* It’s heavy and causes hand fatigue after several minutes.
I probably won’t upgrade this year, even though I typically upgrade every year or two. But we super-cycled last year, and got the whole family various 15 series models for the USB-C port, and sold all the old lightning ones.
Nobody really needs a hand-me-down this year, so there goes my usual excuse for upgrading. 😂
But honestly, I’m super happy with the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apple will have to do something more than incremental before I’d upgrade again.
NICE! Bigger screen iPhones are welcome for media streaming purposes.
I think I have to watch this video again. I fell asleep a couple times
I have a 13 mini and I don’t really want to upgrade because I don’t want the larger size.
I have an iPad, a MacBook and an Apple Watch. I don’t want a larger phone. I want the phone to stay small.
I always found iPhones too slippery, therefore requiring a very thin case. Otherwise your hand aches from holding on to it in a long telcon. Wish I didn’t need a case. Sure, I would go for an ultra thin iPhone.
It does not really matter I like both big and compact phone you just have to get use to it
Bro, I’ve been asking for a 6.9 inch iPhone since 2014 now that the bezels are nearly nonexistent the 6.9 inch up from the 6.7 inch is actually tenable I’m so excited and can’t wait
6.7 is good but do we really need a 7 inch phone?
I worry about the size also, soon it wont fit in your pocket. And going to a smaller zice is not for me cause I like the bigger size and the better battery you get with the pro max.
Makes sense the phone needs to stop at 7 inches it would be too big otherwise 7 inches is perfect we finally get a bigger screen size closer to the S24 Ultra we’re getting there next the iPhone 18 will be 6.6 inches by 2026 so that will be awesome 6.6 and 7.1 inches
I have the 15 plus and am getting tired of such a big phone. Hoping the 16 pro will work for my old eyes. Because, I agree with you, totally, no way could I go to a 16.9 😮. Just hope they both get the 5x zoom. Or maybe I’ll wait for the 17 to see if they get rid of the Dynamic Island 🏝️
I gave up on the max’es years ago. Very painful to carry
Probably stick with my 15 pro max in blue for at least 3 years. Unless they release the 17 slim. I’d definitely upgrade to that.
I agree the battery size is why I go with the pro max too.
Still using the SE 2nd Gen, and would not trade it for anything else.
I think devices shouldn't get to thin. You need something to hold onto and you need some bulk to keep the structural integrity.
iPhone screens used to be 3.5 inches. Doubling that would be 7 inches. That is how much larger iPhone screens have become.
2:25 Sad thing is i still think it should get bigger than this.
I like small iphones cuz they feel better in my opinion, I wish they kept the mini
For me, personally, I don’t mind a bigger screen. Maybe 7 or 7.5 is my cap. But, anything that folds is a no for me. Anything that feels like it needs to fold is a no for me. Anything too big I might as well get an iPad Mini phone. So, it can’t go too big. So, I agree with that. But I do not want smaller. I want my eyes to not feel strained. So, I like the bigger screens. And iPads I’m probably good with going no bigger than 14”. But to eaches own. People should have a chance to experience a flip iPhone if they want. I just don’t want one. So, I hope there’s an option that satisfies me that’s not a flip. It would be interesting to see if the Ultra iPhones become a flip.
My biggest and only real hate for the 16 pro/pro max is that stupid capture button they're adding. I have a worry that there's gonna be a lot of accidental presses due to where it's placed, and if it's a haptic buttong like the rumors say, then it means that every case will have an opening for that one button which will look and feel tacky.
Ive been saying for the past few years that the PERFECT size is right in between the pro and premix
They should be making the SE 4 model the size of the 13 mini. It makes no sense to make it the same size as the regular iPhone
More money you spend and better quality and features you get. This is the same for the MacBook Pro and the same for the IPad .. where is the difference?
The 17 slim is another way of saying the 17 ultra but since that never came to fruition they just call it the slim so don’t get to hyped.
I can't wait to record the disassembly of this phone. I wonder if there will be any major changes inside. I hope that Apple won't prepare some revolutionary solution for mounting the screen, because then there is always a risk of damage when you are one of the first in the world to do it and you don't know what to expect 😅
decreasing the bezel is dumb in my opinion, the way it is right is just perfect pointless to decrease it even more
However, the iPhone 17 models maybe a lot more different than you think. Thanks to a new EU mandate coming in the end of 2026 for customer-removable batteries, the iPhone 17 may look like the iPhone 16 but will be a tad thicker to accommodate the removable battery pack module.
While I’d love the pro max battery, the standard pro is much more comfortable for me to use and my choice 💯
I loved holding the iPhone 11 Pro series. Those felt so great in the hand.
I have a 13 mini because of the size and planing on getting a 16 series in December and I will have to get in store and try them before buying for ones because a 5,4 inch to a possible 6,9 inch I think will just be to big of change for me
The improvements that were previewed on M4 suggests the iPhone chip will sip less energy and extend battery life on both 16pro models of iPhone.
Nope
I’ve been longing for a bigger screen
6.9 or even 7.1
BRING IT.
Can’t wait
Approaching ipad mini :)
I hope they will increase in screen size. I absolutely hate tiny phones when a modern smartphone offers so much if you have a screen to see it on. You don like it, buy one of the smaller iphones.
I’m coming from a iPhone pro max 13max. So I’m going for the 16 pro max and invest in a fany pack.
To all of you who are missing the point of this video, you don't belong in this section. Ok now onto the important bits. Yes I think you are right about this size. I bought the larger screen size even though I am blind for the bigger battery, since I use a lot of GPS apps and camera apps. Thus I need the most battery. But I agree, any bigger and it will just be too much. I'll still buy the larger phone because I don't have a choice, I need it. But it really sucks that for people who are in similar situations as myself, we are stuck going up and up in screen size. The perfect size is the regular models, but like Greg said, the Pro Max has all the tech, all the battery, all the everything. In short, I do think the screen is too big and whether or not I buy this phone regardless has no baring on whether or not the increased screen size is justified. And yes there are people out there who like the larger screens. This comment isn't for you. You already know what you want, and what you want is valid. But for anyone who is actually affected by the increase, I too feel for you
i would not panic too much. even tho the 6.3 inch 16 pro is gonna have a physically smaller battery than the 15 pro max. the actual battery life may even out in the end as the A18 pro chip is gonna have the TSMC N3E node same as M4
so alot more efficient. cus man this A17 chip is cooking hard.
I hope they don't make the pro max bigger!! Just reduce the bezels only would be amazing. Under screen Face ID. I doubt that will happen. I won't upgrade if they make the phone size as big as you eluded too. A bigger batter is a must though! Apple really need to sort that out. I bet they will pop an M4 chip in the pro models!
Sorry Greg, I'm all for the larger phone. My current phone is the 14 Pro Max. It's also my 1st iPhone, having been on Android since the Galaxy SII . My last Android being the OnePlus 7 Pro. I never liked the smaller phones like the Mini iPhones .
I agree i have a 14 pro max and when the 16 comes out i am going back to the 6.1/6.3 regular iphone...the max is too heavy and does not fit well in pockets,,,,i am tired of keeping it in my pack. For women who use purses all the time this may not be a big deal but for guys trying to fit the max in jeans pockets it is a deal breaker. I will miss the bigger screen real estate but it is what it is
Do it! I love bigger screens. Hard to read or write on my 13 PM.
iPhone 17 … little early to be making wild guesses
I hope they increase it to 8”, that would basically remove the need for a tablet
My daughters would like an iPad mini phone ! They live on the phone like many other people do now. Maybe Apple should make an iPad mini size phone and call it the iPhone Extreme..
Yes, I totally agree
iPad Mini Pro (for speed) with OLED and cellular would be my dream on the go device. I sometimes take my iPad Mini 6 grocery shopping and tether to my iPhone hotspot. But if it has built in Cellular service i would eliminate the iphone in my pocket.
hate these huge cell phones. Don't even fit in my pockets. GEESH. Where is the flip phone Apple?
Maybe get fatter so you can buy bigger pants with bigger pockets?
