Believe it or not, while this show was on the air, I was driving a cab in NYC, and found the experience remarkably like this show. However, I did not even know this show existed, because I had no TV. Years later, I discovered this show.
he was such a brilliant actor...to act zonked out and deliver his lines so magnificently....The one about the coca leaf cookies was brilliant. and funny. one can see danny de vito also coudlnt keep a straight face
I remember seeing that years ago. I cried - it was a brilliant moment, he'd been all brave all day long and everyone thought he was fine and then he went home and put on the tape.
"You know, you are the last person that I would expect from this garage to have come from the upper crust." What an unkind thing for Elaine to say! And Henner did sound like she had to force it out. I can imagine her arguing with the director before the scene was shot: "But Elaine is a nice person! She would never say something so insensitive and cruel!" Director: "It's in the script. Do your job."
It moved to NBC in 1983, its last year. The network was last in the ratings for quite some time up to that point. The sad irony was that just one year later the network, thanks to the new :Cosby show: went to number one.
Your attitude is the very reason pot was illegal for too long. It can do that to people. Not because of the high but the way some people instinctively start to act when experiencing something different in life... Pot can do this. It doesn't always. Especially gone down since it's been destigmatized but it is not the best thing in the world. It's just a tool for relaxation that should be taken intelligently

What happened? Who went with him? The outcome? I missed this episode
Probably one of the most real and touching moments in television history.
What a beautiful lady.
He brings so much heart & grounds this whacked out character in reality. No wonder the show runners wanted to add him to the cast!
