good, first to give you my congratulations for the work. I would also appreciate if it were possible to share the pcb, the .zip file and a list of components, and if you cannot, a small explanation of how you have connected the arduino with the rest of the components as it seems in the first video. Greetings and thank you.
can you do a video on converting a US PLOTTER model uscutter from a vinyl cutter to a laser cutter/cnc router, or maybe how to tell if this item uses gerbel commands or some proprietary computer input?
can you help me Sir? i have try your totorial, another toturial. but still not working, my selenoid doesn't work properly, pwm signal doesn't work. 😂 but sorry before. i newbie in arduino world. 🙏 i have Cameo 4, the motherboard has die because ant. so i want to replace motherboard with arduino, but still not working at the pwm signal. thanks sir 🙏
Have you seen any projects that use the original DC motors with the encoder? That would be zero cost and the motors are capable since they do drive the original printer.
steps/mm = current steps/mm * Expected length/ Actual length. This is the equation used to calculate steps/mm. Plot Square of 30*30 with your current settings then measure its sides like i did at 5:29. Expected length will be 30mm and actual length will be measured length.
OK. Everything looks good and thank you. But, I am curious: I didn't see the blade! What type is it? How it looks? Is it the small very sharp wheel? Diamond? Or something else... I know that the cutters has that very small but very sharp wheel. But they have the mechanism to rotate the wheel around the z-axis to keep it tangent on the cutting path. But it seems to me that you do not have it. I mean, your blade is fixed, not rotating. So, I can't figure out how it makes a very narrow, almost invisible cuts without scratching the material. Please, explain it!
I haven't tried. Anyways this machine was just an experiment. It cannot be used as commercial ones as there are features like blade offset and many more which it doesn't have.
@@LoopLinks it's completely circuit but you have splited the microcontroller, motor driver and others circuit and I'm so confusing about connection between all of them..can you please upload the silkscreen of the pcb you uploaded on the web page
Great, very good ! I thinking, is possible this machine cut hidrogel film for mobile? as mobile hidrogel film cutter ? I can develop app database with mobile models dimensions.
Great Video and nice project! Your video has inspired me to build the same. Unfortunately, the solenoid gets too hot and no longer works after a while. I have thought of pwm or a reduction of the current. However, the solenoid then also no longer works at a certainpoint. How did you solve the problem with overheating, since the solenoid is not suitable for continuous use.
@@alexanderpristinsky177 That would actually be possible. However, it would still need a heat sink etc. for this. I was just wondering how in this video that would work without cooling in the long run. I have now converted my plotter and use a servo instead. For this I use grbl-servo from cprezzi, and a spring loaded z-axis to build up the pressure.
@@LoopLinks Thank you for the project. I have checked the files on google drive, but there are no gbr files for making the pcb. Can you please add these files ? Thank you.
This is rad. I'm guessing if I used a slightly different model printer I'm going to have to modify or make my own STL files for the holders and bearings right?
The only problem is that it doesn’t compensate for dragged knife. For small letters it’s not useable. Anyway great project. Reminds me of Roland Stika cutters.
Would actually be cooler, if you could make your arduino interface the regular printer electronics (so ink commands from the printer makes it put down the knife, and then it just works as usual), so to cut, you simply "print" a "paper" with specific lines and shapes, that will make the printer behave in such way it cuts the vinyl. And that "paper" is simply a PDF file generated from your vinyl printing software. Or even generated in a web page.

dude, that part one was amazing....probably the most complicated and technically proficient mod video I've ever seen on youtube ;o)
Thank you!
Can I have the PCB order files?
почему у меня не рабоает солиноид и не крутятся двигатели все сделал как на твоем видео?
How to find which kind of inkjet printer support this kind of modification ?

wow here it comes the part 2, thank you sir....
You are welcome
Thanks for the second part.
1:45 what is that strip made of? And what does it do?
It's x-axis motor wire.
No I mean at 1:49, that orange strip. What is it for? You glued it in.
Oh! that's mdf to remove the gap so that x carriage won't wobble.
@@LoopLinks does mdf wear down after using the cutter a lot?
@@TheRainHarvester MDF is very durable, my guess is it'll take years, before it needs to be renewed.

Is it possible to share the gerber zip for jlcpcb please
Absolutely brilliant!
Thanks!
Please where can I find all libraryes and the drivers for such machine? the links where you downloaded them from?
Check Video description

@FilmFactry do you have the link of the video you were mentioned?
Cool! Can you share the connections of the cnc shield V3 that you see that you used?
In the description
Where can we get the gerber file or ready-made PCB card?
You can follow circuit diagram(link in the video description) to create Gerber file as per your requirement.
Could you please share the files for pcb?

I used drag knife - cutt.ly/wnnO8Pg and the knife itself can rotate freely..
@@LoopLinks Thank you! OK! Understood :-)
How does it cut? (blade, laser,... ?) Have I missed the part where one can see it?
Blade!
Hats off to your hard work, and offcourse your artistic sense.....use an electric screwdriver to minimise the chance of flattened threads.
Hello and thanks for the Video. What do you have to set at Grbl for the relay?
how did you fix the overcut?
I haven't fixed that.
Can i use it to cut phone skin

hello looplinks i have a question can i also use this as a pen plotter by replacing cutter with pen
yes u can
Do you happen to know of a good brand of matte adhesive-backed vinyl in China?
I have an old unused printer, some stepper motors and an Arduino I'm willing to take a chance, thanks for the video.
Go for it!

However, the solenoid then also no longer works at a certainpoint. How did you solve the problem with overheating, since the solenoid is not suitable for continuous use.
Make a solenoid with thinner wires and increase the number of turns or use a resistor in series if you don't want to do that.
You can add the air cooling for the solenoid...
