    That Yoke cable that connects to the base.... just pull on it until it's about 50% longer than when it came out of the box, and it won't stress the connectors.

    This is a very good yoke to use/purchase. But you will run into trouble (depending on which sim you play)
    Yaw/steering/taxing control......I haven't found a GOOD solution yet. Rudder pedals just sucks, take up to much space.

    • @SimUKAviation
      @SimUKAviation  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Rudder pedals are essential when sim flying IMHO

    Just got mine yesterday. Its a great yoke. Definitely better than the junk Logitech makes. Went through at least two Logitech yokes both had the same failure before finally getting the Alpha. Only wish I knew about it before. Only gripe I have with it is the switches are damn near impossible to setup as switches in FSX and their calibration tool is crap with no clear instructions.

    • @SimUKAviation
      @SimUKAviation  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tip.....when binding a switch, think of it as a button....this means you must press AND release....so switch on and switch back off to work properly.

    • @theatom7264
      @theatom7264 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SimUKAviation Any tips how to set that up in the configurator? Could you provide a list of a properly done profile setup? In FSX they all read as separate buttons both on and off positions of the switches and there seems to be no obvious way to upload a yoke profile to FSX from the configurator.

    • @SimUKAviation
      @SimUKAviation  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Other than first release I haven't used the configurator at all, I've had no need for it. Equally I honestly haven't looked at FSX (despite many purchased items) for well over a year. Is FSX your only flight sim ATM?

    • @Voltomess
      @Voltomess 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got this alpha and beta for 1 month now and never had any issues with switches you just have to use your head lol but I'm pretty sure you good now.

    • @theatom7264
      @theatom7264 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Voltomess Its a great yoke no doubt. Its just sloppy standard programing and you need to a get payware program to get it to work how its supposed to where a switch turns a single function on and off. Its more of a problem with FSX because the button mapping is crap. The on & off opperation of some functions have been mashed together instead of separate so most of them are on/off instead of one for on and one for off like the APU is setup.

    Do you happen to know how to enable the preset button and axis assignments? Nothing is assigned for me even under "Alpha Yoke Profile". It looks like there are default assignments for you. I really don't want to have to manually assign them all. I've installed the drivers from the site.

    Has anyone tried this for combat sims? I'm particularly interested in flying the P-38, the 90 degree travel is important on that, but it's also a fighter, I can't see the button layout being ideal, but I'm also not aware of any other affordable yokes that would work. Any thoughts?

    • @TitaniumDR1
      @TitaniumDR1 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just flew the P38 with my honeycomb. It's much better than HOTAS. I have both setups at the same time so I can switch instantly. Honeycomb is the best yoke for the money. The elevator resistance is great. The aileron/roll resistance is light but tolerable. It feels real in the hand. It's a heavy duty looking and feeling item and you can tell it's quality made the moment you touch it.
      You combine this thing with Pimax 8K VR, a 4090, and a butt kicker on your chair and then you'll really know what. VR should be like. It's pretty damn real feeling in the 172 especially. I've flown that plane in real life. And this is remarkably similar. The butt kicker is key. Get one. It's worth the money. Definitely helps with immersion tremendously.
      Oh and don't forget, you can get a different throttle if you don't like the honeycomb throttle. I wasn't sold on it because it's huge. I am doing a YAW2 chair setup and was looking at smaller throttle options. I think there's a Logitech throttle that I actually liked more. It's way smaller and does the job.
      Stay far away from the Logitech yoke. That thing's trash. The pedals and throttle by Logitech are good enough.
      I'll put a video up on my page when I get it all done. Should be a pretty cool setup.

    I found the cons in this video to be rather nit picky. Let's not forget the price point shall we. Sure they could of addressed some of or all those issues with a $500.00 dollar price point. this reminds me of that saying that goes "give them an inch and they will want a mile. I find the bravo yoke and throttle quadrant to be perfect for their price points and that Honeycomb came along and filled a hole that other companies did not feel the need too. All the cons in this video can be addressed by buying a $1000.000 Yoko yoke. As much as we would love to have our cake and eat it too, it's just not reality. I think honey comb did a great job at a reasonably affordable price point.
    Far too often companies give us far less than what we paid for, honeycomb is just not one of those companies and gave us great value for our money. Honeycomb is a great asset to the flightsim community and it shows because many many flight simmers are now buying their products. If I'm not mistaken Honeycomb has now become the go too for quality flightsim peripherals. Happy flying everyone and Merry Christmas to all. Cheers!

    It’s not a budget one necessarily, it’s actually a quite a high end yoke for some people

    • @SimUKAviation
      @SimUKAviation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the decision to call it budget is because there really are not any realistic cheaper alternatives...OK there are a few, but none that I would recommend. On the other hand, there a a few more expensive brands...way more expensive.

      Yeah, the feel of this yoke brought back bad memories of how my G940 got after a year or two. The stuff isn't the easiest thing in the world to remove either. I think I used alcohol (or WD40) and paper towels to get it all off. It takes a lot of rubbing.

  • @JoJo-ps4ml
    @JoJo-ps4ml 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I just bought this crappy yoke, or I should say, I just wasted 249.00 US Dollars. The Tension is actually unrealistcally too strong to feel like a normal small Aircraft. Especially on the Pitch Axis..Lets face it, the controls on a real aircraft don't self center while the Aircraft is parked...and pulling force on most manuevers is not as tense as it is on this thing. I do own two other Yokes...by far... the best yoke I've owned is still the " Saitek Cessna pro flight yoke " . It feels the most normal, the most realistic and the closest to the real aircraft that I have flown, mainly cessna 152s and 172s...My two cents from My experience as a Private pilot, Single Engine Land. Bottom Line... It would be nice if we could adjust the the tension on this thing. Then this thing might be acceptable.

    • @drago7635
      @drago7635 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Doesnt the Saitek only have 45 degree turn? that doesnt feel very realistic doesnt it? seems like a small movement it doesnt translate as well in the game

    • @JoJo-ps4ml
      @JoJo-ps4ml 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@drago7635 The Saitek Cessna pro yoke has 180 degree turn as this one does as well. The Saitek with the timer on it has the 45 degree turn per side. The Saitek cessna yoke feels more like the real thing than this one does The tension on this thing is way too stiff.

    • @SimUKAviation
      @SimUKAviation  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey JoJo I felt the same way, but that tension really works well once you get the feel (super tight precision Better in XP11 - Because it has a better flight model).
      That being said: I would LOVE to have tension adjusters for pitch and roll....that would be excellent!

    • @JoJo-ps4ml
      @JoJo-ps4ml 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SimUKAviation I'll give it another try with XP11. Is not all bad. I really like all the switches, their great. Plus the mounting brackets are strong and has more options. Tension adjusters like they have on the rudder pedals would make this an excellent yoke for any simmer.
