My father and I took a 2week trip to Colorado and wyoming slept in the back of the pickup truck. Had 4 flat tires on that trip. I got to the last flat and my dad nope you change it am done. That was the best trip ever . About 43 years ago.
Its funny. Your family is traveling to Colorado and we are trying to get the heck out!!. You will miss Iowa lots after hitting our congested roads , campgrounds and small town shops. To avoid it all go to timber line.. lets just say the locals here call it little California. And thats not good. And don't leave that awesome truck running here or she gone!
RainX those lights and windshield, really helps with the clean-up of road grime. maybe get a Saint Christopher pendant to put on your rearview mirror (protect you and yours on travels).
The truck looks awesome! I remember waxing our '67 Ford Fairlane when I was a kid. I had to take a soft toothbrush to get the excess wax out of all of those lovely emblems those cars had. Not allowed to tape them off because the wax had to get right up to, over and around them. Decades later I still hate waxing a car. Have a fantastic vacation. That's a lot of work I used to do it waxing, I am lazy now 😁 There is a shop in Elk Grove Calif I take mine to for $350, 00 bucks everything turns out like it just came off the Assembly line , Absolutely profession, They call them selves Level up , Inside and out just beautiful work they detail the engine all the interior just everything 😎 be safe kurt
When you polish the rims take your rag with polish around the outer part first then work your way in and around. For all my aluminum wheels I use Mother's polish its the best but turns your hands black.

Kurt I'll let you in on a little Show Truck (Big Trucks) secret... For your Tires and the top of your bumper... Mop-&-Glo floor wax..... Now before putting it on NEW tires make sure you get ALL the mold release agent off the tires. (The Brownish tint stuff on the tires, best way I found was a nice hot steam cleaner. get in the lugs on the side walls too).. them DON"T SHAKE THE BOTTLE............ Using a sponge works best but I use a Micro Fiber Towel... Apply the M-N-G to the rag liberally and apply to the tire get everything but don't allow it to run or pool... Allow it to dry for 15-20 minutes and apply a second coat, 15-20 minutes and apply a third coat... 3 Coats on brand new tires usually works... The thing about M-N-G is it drys but looks wet. and it lasts.. On my KW I reapply after every 2-3 wash but on my Pickup it lasts 6 months here in Utah only because of the salt on the roads in the winter.... This last winter I stayed in Florida so my pickup was not driven and the tires still look great since the last time I applied it in June of 2020.... Tip the Rubber tires are a piece of cake to get a nice even coat just like I said don't let it run.. Like it will pool around the lettering and run. If it runs and the run drys then you'll have a white streak.. On the bumper you really have to make sure you apply it evenly or you will have streaks... and for you and anyone else that reads this that might think of this for Vinyl dressing..... Don't, while it works great IT WILL STREAK and you won't get it even... Trust me, I tried it on the bottom of my top bunk... TWO years ago only in a small 6" x 6" spot since then I've tried everything I can think of including Bleach and Goo Gone... It's still there and won't come off completely... But It's D@#M fine on Tires... And $3.50 a bottle at Wal-Mart... Half a bottle did my 35 x 12.5 x 20 tires three coats on my pickup and I used 1 full bottle the initial time on all 10 outside tires on my truck and trailer after that 1 bottle does the maintenance after washes for all 10 tires about 3-4 times... The nice part is you wash the truck, (Make sure you tell Blue Beacon to brush the tire rubber or they don't think tires are part of the truck) and drive off and your tire shine is already applied... That's MOP-&-GLO... Blue Bottle with goldish label says One Step Mop & Glo DO NOT SHAKE THE BOTTLE...... this introduces little air bubbles into the wax which will look like there is dust in the stuff when it drys on the tire... Oh Ya and make sure the tires are completely and dry before applying..
Nice work on the headlights. Megs Cleaner Wax is one of the alltime great products. Just a touch of abrasives to remove light oxidation, and good protection. A good degreaser or full-strength tire cleaner will remove the polish from the sidewalls. Same, with a stiff nylon brush, will help on the bumper pad as well. Solution Finish is a great black trim restorer if you'd like to bring it back to new.
Love the tire work! Well, I don't LOVE doing it but I love seeing the process. The #82TRacing Team would LOVE to have some of that equipment in the shop. Good Stuff!! Love the videos!!

My hubby loves detailing and works for a dealership. Cooks vinyl dressing is what you need to use on your pickup bumper. They use it at their dealership.
The big sexy definitely looked mint after a bit of spit and polish and yes we all should take a moment or two to admire our handiwork when we polish up our rides 😀the tyre shop looks amazing I'm guessing nothing is too much trouble for the owner you don't get that kind of outstanding service nowadays stay safe out there from joff in the UK
Lucas Speed Shine spray on wax. Wash the truck then spray on the Lucas and wipe down with a microfiber cloth. I've used the McGuires too and the Speed Shine lasts just as long but takes 1/3 the time to apply.
Your pickup has a shiny hiny. Looks nice 😄. Say when your dad says jump you say how high. Try using black magic on your bumper I think magiures makes it
Mequiars is great stuff. I've used it ever since I had my first truck at 15. Money pit sure shines up really good. Down here in east tn, I thought I seen the devil standing in line for a snow cone the other day the humidity was so bad 🤣.
@@truckingwithschmidt7120 of cause you have to be careful when you do it, there is a some good videos out there on how to do it but it's like just moving around the torch until it kinda mellows and becomes black again but for sure be careful when you do it plastic burns so if you keep it in one spot for too long you will damage the plastic. but it works and that's the most important part I think, shy of just our right buying a new trim piece this is for sure worth a try and I can't stress this enough remember the uv protection afterwards, that goes for your yellowing headlights aswell once you've sanded them down and made them all clear again... uv protection!
@@truckingwithschmidt7120 oh almost forgot, as far as I know the blowtorch trick only works on those really hard wear pieces, softer plastics just burst into flames.
I used to drive a T-600 KW...... I shined all the black plastic on the truck with Black paste shoe polish, and it worked great. 2 or 3 times a year would need to redo it. 🤔 Just a suggestion....

I feel your pain. Had my new to me F150 for less than a month, pulled up to my garage, jumped out to fold in the mirrors. Drivers door was halfway open, truck rolled forward, door hit the garage door frame. Sheared the mirror off, sprung the door, bent the step. $5000 in damage. Minimal damage to the garage.
psssst. Silicone Can take off the wax from the Tire, just rub it in. black shoe polish will get the color back, it sounds crazy but it works 😀 and then it makes the water bounce off. you may have to give it several times now that the bumper is so milky white, and it is cheap and dont make any harm
WD-40 is cheaper and works excellent on those head light covers , spray it on or spray it on a polish pad and use a clean soft cloth you can also use it in the tail light lens if they get dual. Try it next time Kurt

Plastic bumper spray different kinds one paints already get clear coat in it and the other one comes separately black and you have to clear coat over afterwards you have to type the back of the truck up and no needs a bumper blow the black thing
