    You'll notice that there is a big focus on technique here, and if you haven't done any Olympic Lifting before, you'll need to make the first exercise more simple, or get some decent instruction.     Train and burn calories? You are burning more calories with Olympic lifting than you are by doing any standard resistance training exercise. If you are competing, I'd put high calories at the top of your list of importance. Don't worry about "losing weight" when it comes to a sport like pro-lifting.
