I think what's the most important is that both people have the same goal of saving yourself for marriage. If the guy or the girl is just "agreeing" that it's a goal they can work with bc they care about you... Consider it a red flag! It's hard enough to fight temptation but why fight it on your own? If both people feel strongly about this goal, the likelihood that both will be working on it will be higher. You don't want the push and pull, someone always pushing the boundaries and the other always having to say no. Make sure that the other person had this goal BEFORE they even started dating you. This will tell you whether or not they are serious about saving themselves or not.

Thanks for the video guys. My wife and I also did long distance and traveled a lot, and made similar decisions to you guys. When we planned our trips we would also make sure that over a Sunday we would be able to get to mass. This sometimes made the planning very tricky and difficult. Convenient? Absolutely not. Worth it? Absolutely!!

A very good point! On our honeymoon cruise we had to ask them if we could skip to the front of the line for the little boats going to the island so we could get to Mass on the island on time!

Thank you for this video! It's disheartening that people can't leave your personal choices alone and respect them. I appreciate you guys and your honesty!

This is an important topic! I would not be okay staying in the same place before marriage, no matter if we both know nothing happened. And I’ve made choices or avoided situations accordingly. That newness is exactly what I’ve thought about! How exciting when trips and things are more doable, but for now some things should just be avoided due to our convictions.
I know of Catholics who did stay alone in the same hotel room for example, and even though I’m fairly confident they didn’t violate their commitment, I think that’s pretty much across the board a scandalous thing to do. Just save it as something to look forward to. We’re also responsible to not put ourselves in near occasion of sin, something else to strongly consider.

This is what I love about you two, that everything was new and lovely after you two got married. Like everything was worth it, every sacrifice for staying pure. You make me to long to do the same when I will have a godly boyfriend at some point. You two inspire me to remain pure, through God's strength. God bless you. Amen! 💟

Sleeping in the same room (separate beds) wouldn't be a problem for me, if we are both committed in chastity. But my doubt is about creating scandal 🤔

You two make me excited at the thought of just maybe ..I will be able to be with a man who is committed to saving sex for marriage and the getting married to that man..knowing we made it to our wedding day and just knowing it was all worth it. Thank you both be being a good example for us single people who want the same things. For now I'm embracing my single days ❤️

Loved this video. Such good points!!!! My ex-boyfriend and I tried to live this out and my roommate at the time always rolled her eyes at that. She would always think the opposite of what we were really doing.
I know you talked about how it was new and exciting saving sex for marriage, but what about just the newness of you two see each other for the first time in the morning. You look crazy, bye he stills loves you. That is something that is kinda sacred as well, what you look like in the morning. That is new and exciting too, you guys seeing what you look like in the morning. Just something I was thinking king of.

I slightly disagree with it not mattering what people percieve about our relationships. There’s a saying in spanish (I don’t know how it is oficiallu translated in English) from Caesar: caesars wife shouldn’t only BE that, but also LOOK like (she’s his wife). My parents really stressed this on my siblings and me… our example had to be shown in actions. My college friends were pretty dumbfounded and many made fun of us when my now-husband and I went to an airbnb in Madrid but I ended up sleeping with an aunt of mine for a night because our friends we were sharing the apptment wth came a day later to our trip… it was so hard and I felt so stupid at times… but then the 4th commandment has always been one I’ve tried very hard to follow, and I knew at least my parents would approve… apart from that mini fiasco, we were able to travel (as much as our meagre earnings would allow) to quite a number of places, always going in a group, or with family. One of the things I like most about my husband is how well he’s always gotten along with my brother :) in the end, as you say in the video, it was totally worth it. I struggled with chastity and my friends struggled with understanding my efforts to be “a good catholic girl” (jeje) In the end it was a win win: we waited til marriage, and my friends never questioned me again on that subject .

Awesome video and great topic. I have a question for you two. When you had those conversations about traveling and waiting for marriage etc. were there ever times where you disagreed?
My boyfriend and I are committed to waiting until marriage but sometimes disagree on practical ways we wish to live that out. (I tend to be more strict and he tends to be more relaxed. For example, he would be the type to not mind staying in the same air bnb in separate rooms, where I might be more hesitant about that and prefer another arrangement.)
Any advice for navigating those conversations?
