You might be surprised to know there is a little town in Queensland, Australia, called Texas. Lee Kernaghan has a song about it called Texas QLD 4385. A live version would be best to react to 😊
I was working for a mining company in Brisbane in the 80's - first job out of school. We had to send some parts for machinery to Texas. We were looking up how to get it there and how much. It was going to cost a fortune so we talked to the boss. He shook his head, laughed. It was to Texas, Queensland! Made a big difference in price!
We call them Hayrunners here in Aus. They are incredible people, also Farmers, who are not doing it quite as tough. We even had the Hayrunners help us out with Hay, for some Brumbys ( Mustangs) who were stranded during floods. As for the Lee's hat it is more like the American style. The traditional Aussie, hat is the Akubra.
according to "your favourite search engine" the hat Lee wears is an Akubra "Outback Club"... apparently it was named after the song of the same name. Not sure how much of that info is accurate but that's what it said 🥴 🙃🐨🇦🇺
YES there's a little town called TEXAS in Queensland AU my Uncle Jack lived there. He owned a cattle property just out of the township. We visited during many holidays. Actually my Mum who was born 1917 and her 3 brothers were raised on cattle station called "Black Springs" between TEXAS & STANTHORPE 😉👍🏻
I work in a job where I meet a lot of celebrities. Lee Kernaghan stands out as one of the absolute best, just a real down to earth guy who was needlessly nice.
Lee in the black hat is our quintisential Aussie country artist. He is pure country and has been around for decades. I love his music. Wolf brothers started of more recently and now firmly established in the country musoc scene in Australia
Lee is a very good man. He is always there when there is a cause which needs support or money to be raised. He has been a damn good mate to lots of Australians over the years.
We had a concert for the farmers in 2019 called Hay Mate. Stars included John Farnham, Jon Stevens, and The Black Sorrows. The proceeds went to buying bales of hay for drought stricken farmers. But, there have been other concerts for other events, such as after the Tsumami in Indonesia in 2004 called WaveAid, and concerts following bush fires in 2019 to 2020 called Fire fIght Australia. Just a couple I can recall.
I am an avid fan of Lee Kernaghan he is the greatest Australian 🇦🇺 always around when needed he is a Legend and writes most of his songs I just Love him ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
G'day Lee is the son of a music family, He has a large following here in Aus as a Country/rock artist. His father was Ray Kernaghan who had several hits when Lee was a small child. Due to Rays influance Lee had good coaching and contacts within the music industry.
I reckon you would like the King of Australian country music, Slim Dusty, sadly passed in 2003 aged 76. Lots of songs but maybe the song 'Duncan' would be a good start.
Hi Mike, Thought you might also like to hear and see Lee Kernaghan videos of 'The Way It Is' and 'Australian Boy'. We older Aussies really can relate to your layback style.😊 Best Wishes from Australia.Cheers, Rhonda Brogan. 🇦🇺
Great fricken song..yes it would be called country music.. probably our greatest known country singer is Keith Urban also known as Mr Nicole Kidman!! Like all these guys he’s fantastic and there is a clip on YT of him singing flame trees with Jimmy Barnes and the crowd singing along.. it’s great Lee is a legend in Australia
Really liking your channel. There are a lot of amazing lady singers in Oz too. Many have been in the Industry for a long time and still very successful. During Covid this song got a lot of people thru - so can you react to Delta Goodrem - Keep Climbing - Global Citizen Live. She has an amazing voice and this was done after she could not sing for a year - see her video Dela Goodrem - The story behind Paralyzed. It's a good up.ifting song - and she has a few of these. A very positive, strong lady with an amazing voice.
Guy has son many great songs... Have a listen to Believer, Before I Go, Antidote, etc. And the 2 songs in this clip, which are Choir & Standing with You.
G'day mate Yeah he travels over to the states all the time I'm surprised you haven't herd of him Yeah it's country music here as well Stories of the bush which would be very much inline with what happens there So a good cross over for both countries A lot of country boys and girls where a hat due to sun we use Aruba and made from rabbit felt Our sub contractor truckies run the hay out to the bush in convoys free for them to get some feed All hay was donated from raised money from concerts and other things The kast one was so bad they didn't even have money to buy bullets to put animals down Nor even food for their families and they won't asked for help try to fight it out We are a country of extremes fire floods drought's so could be years before get a couple good seasons Then that money made has to carry over until the next time so tough life out there and alot of city people have no idea How and where what happens for the stuff they buy in plentiful supply Farmers are our live line no farmers no food no life pretty simple Cheer mate 🦘🇦🇺👍
Not criticising just informing Kernaghan is pronounced with a silent G .EDIT Akubra hats are waterproof so you can use it as a bucket or for giving the dog a drink or even filling your radiator. EDIT- It would appear My first sentence was wrong totally . Sorry about that .

Can’t stand him anymore. Watched him chuck a tantrum on stage at a concert in QLD Aus. At another one in ACT, he refused to stick around and see his fans. Some drove up to a day to come a see him. He bitched and moaned about seeing his fans to sign a few albums or anything. He’s got a bad name where he comes from too.
Lee was the one in the Akubra, he was singing with the Wolfe Brothers, the best band to come out of my little state, Tasmania.

This is a great song
That is a Akubra Snowy River hat, as famous as your Stetson branded hats. Akubra uses rabbit felt as their main textile for making hats.

@@grandy2875 I have exactly the same hat.

I dare say the hat is an Akubra a well known Australian brand then R.M Williams for the clothes and boots.

Stories of the bush which would be very much inline with what happens there
So a good cross over for both countries
A lot of country boys and girls where a hat due to sun we use Aruba and made from rabbit felt
Our sub contractor truckies run the hay out to the bush in convoys free for them to get some feed
All hay was donated from raised money from concerts and other things
The kast one was so bad they didn't even have money to buy bullets to put animals down
Nor even food for their families and they won't asked for help try to fight it out
We are a country of extremes fire floods drought's so could be years before get a couple good seasons
Then that money made has to carry over until the next time so tough life out there and alot of city people have no idea
How and where what happens for the stuff they buy in plentiful supply
Farmers are our live line no farmers no food no life pretty simple

Could be a Toby Keith song!

The G is definitely not silent - it's pronounced Ker-na-gin. It's the H that is silent

Lee's hat would more than likely be from Akubra - RM Williams
