Artlure fishing Taung dam

Artlure angling is the use of artificial bait imitations (lures) to catch a variety of freshwater species of fish.
Taung Dam is a gravity type dam located on the Harts River near Taung, North West, South Africa. It was established in 1993 and serves mainly for irrigation purposes.
The main fish species found in Taung dam are Smallmouth Yellowfish, Largemouth Yellowfish, Sharptooth Catfish, Common Carp, Orange River Mudfish and Moggel.

I’ve not been there recently, but according to friends it’s better because there is a gate at the launch closest to the dam wall now.
