How do you explain the gap in resume (say 6 months) which actually is the time you took to land the current job interview? (because it’s impossible to get a job within a month of leaving a job)

Hi Richard, I hope you are doing well!! For the last 6 years, I have been working as a freelancer, but last week, when I gave an interview at the company, the HR told me it would not count, so you now have complete 6 year gap.
