- I probabaly wont make a habitat out of this, but I was sent some coordinates of a lake in my home county. I've been contacted by a number of people over the years who have had sightings of possible 'wild men' in the wilderness. I myself have had an unusual experience that I still cannot explain, but despite all of this I don't believe or not believe anything and you regularly hear me joke about it all.
Regardless I have spoken with someone who has had quite a scare from an unexplained humanoid figure that stalked them while they were out on this particular lake. Bigfoot isnt a common term used in this part of the world, but its a name we all know. Troll is probabaly more appropriate where I live.
Anyway I'm going to spend some time here, look around, camp at various spots on the lake, take the boat out and see what I can see. So you will see more episode's around this lake system as its beautiful but there seems to be something else here too.
Strap on your chastity belts and join me on this wet, stormy camp as I endure some torrential conditions but catch some decent food and enjoy the scenery.

Good patrol weather
So I was about 30 kilometres from this location up a small mountain road that gets you near to a nature reserve. I wanted to get up to the highest point, which is about 700m, so it's not too high, but high enough for a view.
I found some old collapsed cabins about halfway up, although on the way up, I recovered an old axd head in one of them, then continued to the top.
On the way back down, I stopped at the collapsed cabins and saw an old stove in one of the cabins. I dragged part of it out to take a look as it had some insignia on it.
Over my right shoulder, an 8ft length of thick spruce landed and impacted the right corner of the collapsed cabin. I turned and looked around, but I was in a grass clearing, and there were no trees nearby that the timber could have fallen from.
The way the tree fell was like it was thrown like a javelin.
I stood there and scanned the treeline, but I couldn't see any movement. It was quiet, and I was a bit spooked.
I began making my way back to the Jeep and decided to take a shortcut through some regrowing birch and goat willow. As I parted the brush to push through, a huge creater charged across my path and vanished into the brush. It was extremely tall and moved upright. I was pretty spooked and took a different way back with my axe in hand. I haven't been back there, and I left the axe head at the old house we lived in at the time. It was 6 years ago.

Fair play to you, even the sheer concept of something being out there, after someone has told you their sightings with sincerity, can be a bit daunting. Even know we know nothing will happen to us, it can mess with you! I’d personally love to see more of this location and/or hear the stories you and others have. I find it fascinating, and also have an open mind on this. Who knows! Great video Mike.
I cant say I wasn't a bit sketched at times, but over all it was such a chilled place to be. I forgot about the stories. I'm going to go back as soon as I finish my battery setup. Take the boat out and see what's going on up stream.

The rig is coming together slowly. I wouldn't mind just having all the internal stuff done for now as my other jeep keeps giving my funny looks.

Yes indeed, that's a nice spot and would enjoy seeing more videos of that area. As for the cryptids... I believe they're real, and not JUST a USA inhabitant. They're reported as being seen all over the world, by thousands of regular everyday people. Nice to see your drawer set-up is working well for you. Nice outing.

Epic job on the setup, coming along nicely. Random question, what boots do you use, been looking for a nice 'waterproof' pair so combat the sunny England weather 😅, but alas not found a decent pair.

I cant recommend the boots I have on. I re-stitched and glued them several times and they are terrible for wet conditions. I'm yet to find a pair that live up to the name to be honest as most don't seem to last.

Have you ever tried a "Kelly kettle" for boiling your water? (better in fair weather)
I have used the kelly kettle. I like them a lot although I never used it much so I gave it away. I use open fires most of the time here and chuck a pot on. Not as efficient but there is often a fire ban here all summer, so my fires are winter based and for heat and cooking.

The weather is very hit or miss. Some days start good but end with a level 5 cyclone.

Great video Mike, but what’s the update on your Renix Jeep? I watch your channel in part to give me inspiration to go and fix all the broken stuff on my 98 Cherokee
I did a brief update on the Renix in the last video, the one with the Merc. I've stripped out the Renix and its ready to cut out the rust. I'm just a bit behind on it because I've been at the local garage finishing the Mercades restoration. The Renix will be back on the channel again mid July, I'm just taking a brake from resto work and camping for a bit first.

Go back I wanna see Bigfoots slong! I know what you mean about that gut feeling, I once went to carp fish an old abandoned lake, I found the fish managed to get my rods out without disturbing them. I felt confident of a capture through the night or at dawn, then at dusk, the feeling came over me. For no good reason I left not because I was scared I just felt unwelcome and like should not have been there. I wasn’t poaching, I had permission to be there, it just had a very strange atmosphere. I’ve never felt it since or before then.
Its a strange on isnt it when you get that feeling. That sounds like a creepy story! Why was it abandoned do you think?

Really like that cooking grill/plate and lid you’ve probably covered it before but what is the name of it and where can I get one.
It could not be a bad idea to spend some energy from the battery in warmth for the battery in -20 C situations, actually, my electric vehicle batteries are warmed a bit in winter for their performance when starting up. You went straight for the sausages, good lord, lucky ¨he¨ didn't like your sausage, but that belt may have saved you and the doll as well. cheers!
The chastity belt is rusted on forever after that rain! I did consider battery blankets and warmers but just went for something more winter suited along with a smart charger setup. It should give me around 180ah. My main thing was to get a good DC DC charger and MPPT controller, the batteries can always be changed in the years to come. Thanks for watching and for the comment!

Do get the tarp out in the Swedish wilderness or is tent the best option? At least in a tarp you can see bigfoot coming and plan an escape... or stay, if that's your thing

I spoke with MSR directly about this and they advised that its ONLY for water. The stove is a MSR Reactor. I have tried cooking in it despite this but the cost of a replacement pot is crazy.

We family camp together although I don't film family stuff because we don't like putting our son on camera, at his age. Megan is also heavily pregnant so she's not as mobile as she normally would be, but we will be camping together at the end of July. We don't have family or babysitters where we live so that's just the reality of life.

Hey Mike, I always find it funny when Scandi gear is idolised here in Australia then I noticed you were wearing some gear from NZ. I was thinking about getting a non goretex outer shell soon, they seem heavy but much more durable, how does that one go?
I don't wear much Scandi gear anymore. It costs too much now. When I use to buy Fjallraven Vidda Pros ten years back they were less than £80, now its almost £200. The material isnt worth it. Mind you I have Haglofs Trousers which were way cheaper and my jacket is from Ridgeline which is NZ. I also wear some original Swanndri gear. The never stuff seems good but the quality isnt the same.
I liked the non gortex stuff for hunting as its quiet. The long wool smocks look good, heavy but durable and good around a fire which is a huge bonus.
Yes, I, for one, would like to see you go back and camp at this location. As long as your wife PROMISES to up load the part, were Big Foot is picking his teeth with your femur bone, pulling your guts out from between those teeth... yeah, I'm in! No harm, ment, of course. The hanging one is an MSR Reactor and the one under the Murrikka is a MSR Whisper Light Universal.

Anyone know what that horizontal belt knife he has is called?
Its a knife I use to make and sell with a friend of mine, Lee from LB Customs. After he died we stopped making them. Its a full flat in RWL34 metal. Its a nice knife for general bush work although not good for fish.
What is that waterproof Mike? You find many waterproofs that cover your ass
Its a Ridgeline Monsoon 2. Its pretty good but it could do with a reproof. I like it because I just need the jacket and the trousers are not so important.
Ass coverage is essential out there, probabaly why he didn't show up.
