To me, feeding pools work quite similarly to the night elves moon well from warcraft 3 the only difference is that they don't run out of heals nor do they need night time to replenish their energy pool
The community really is keeping the game alive, they know how to capture that old Blizz magic for sure. I’m pretty confident ZeroSpace will try and capture that RTS magic
I haven't played SC2 in ages, but do love these vids. Are Xayid all that different than zerg? They look the most like 'zerg, but different' (aka no creep) while Genetron and Keiron both seem so much more unique.
Xayid feel pretty different to Zerg and I say that as a Zerg Main. They have different production buildings for each Unit type that each has its own larva. They have to actively build their Buildings. Their Feeding Pool heals buildings and Units in an area around them and increases larva production for Buildings. Their Units are much different to Zerg Units and feel very distinct. All my normal reflexes as a Zerg simply don't work with them :P
As far as I know Xayid was the first race Solstice (the modder) built, then came Genetron and then Keiron. So I think part of it was Solstice had more experience by the time the other two races were made - they’re Zerg-like but I don’t think they’re supposed to be Zerg. There were talks of a reskin to make them look more plant-like

The game was pretty much decided in 11. minute. In Stormgate orange player would be able to make a return. And these periods of inactivity of armies? In SG wouldn't happen... as long as players knew what they were doing
Mobile game is the best description of Stormgate I’ve seen, I know it’s subjective but it looks shockingly low quality to me based on the budget it had
That title's uncalled for. SC2's biggest weakness is that it's an unusable IP and unusable technology that basically no one will ever be able to use ever again cause ActiBliz. Stormgate will hopefully make better decisions and actually allow their tech to be used so more RTS can come into this world.

SC2 mods are better than any of the new RTS games I have seen until now.
